My wife ordered a Dobos torte, a chocolate hazelnut cake and krumpli from Lucy’s for her birthday. They sent them second-day air UPS from Cleveland since we live in California. The cakes arrived on time and in perfect shape. We had the Dobos torte for the birthday dinner we had with friends and family and everyone thought it was delicious and beautiful. My wife said the lady who answered the phone at the store and the guy, Mike, that she mostly dealt with were extremely nice and very accommodating. We couldn’t be happier.

Best Russian tea biscuits in town. I miss them being closer to the city for us west siders!

This place definitely is a hidden gem. I found myself passing by this place time after time, wondering how in the world you got in there. Finally figured it out. You can only access it from a side road. Nevertheless, the pastries here are quite remarkable. The interior however may need a little update. But my favorite pastry are the donuts. Great place to stop for a nice treat.

Great place and great pastries. Love the strudel, dobos torte, sour cream cookies, and the cheesecake is phenomenal. Never had a bad experience here and will continue to visit as much as possible. By the way, they have great coffee as well.

Very middle-of-the road establishment. Parking is in back, and I walked past a guy sitting outside as I entered. Lots if(empty) tables inside and a small selection of baked goods at 10am. The guy sitting outside came in to help me, then promptly disappeared for the rest of the time I was there.

We’ve been here a few times, both for carry-out and eat-in. The pastries and cakes are nothing special — I can get similar items at Giant Eagle or Heinin’s. The location on Chagrin leaves a lot to be desired. It’s dingy, not well decorated, and not comfortable. It’s giant inside, but they keep half the lights off, so it’s too dark. Smells like heavy cleaning products each time I’ve been in(various times). One time we ate outside(one teeny table available) and two workers, one after the other, came out and smoked right near the table. Not impressed with the food, the atmosphere, or the employees. I gave it a fair shake, but I won’t be going back.

I was very disappointed with Lucy’s. I had made an appointment for wedding cake tasting. When I went in for my appointment they had no idea about it! The person in charge had an emergency and left the store. The staff didn’t even try to keep our business. I left and when straight to Contempo Catering and White Flower Cake without an appointment and both of those places wanted my business. I will not be going back to Lucy’s.

My family and I love Lucy’s! The challah and pastries are second to none! We are very happy to have them in Shaker!

My family has been a customer of Lucy’s for as long as I can remember. Their pastries remain unmatched in the Cleveland area, and frankly almost anywhere I have been! We especially love their strudel(which you can buy cooked or frozen, depending on the event that you are buying for — super easy to cook yourself and have delicious, hot, fresh tasting strudel!) and their challah — Apple and Cinnamon are my personal favorites, though you really cannot go wrong with any of it! Oh and their almond cake… suffice it to say, they’re a very talented bakery! I notice there is a review below expressing disappointment at their new location — I wanted to write this review specifically to disagree with this opinion. While it would be nice if there was an entrance at the front of the building, the nature of the intersection really would not make it safe for people to enter in this manner. There is a TON of parking in the back, especially near the bakery entrance, and it is very easy to get to the side road to find this lot. Once inside, the location is HUGE. They have many cute little tables for dining in and the service is quick if you are getting a «to go» order. They are also great at having orders ready if you call in ahead of time! I can’t wait to see what they do with all of the space — I talked to one person at the Shaker Square farmers market last season(yes you can get their stuff there too!) and they said they may start making pizzas and other types of food, which would be AWESOME! Love Love Love Lucy’s!!! I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed!

This is your eastern European goldmine of a bakery, old school! I used to go to their old location, only mid day as the neighborhood was sketchy. I am so glad they moved! The new location has plenty of parking and they have more selection due to the larger store! I went there this Saturday and I am glad I went early as the place was packed! I got a small desert plate(its now gone) some Easter egg cakes(yummy!) and of course a strudel, you must try this. But our all time favorite is the chocolate raspberry Challah! OMG! I usually buy about 10 and give them out as gifts near the Jewish holidays, keeping at least 4 for my family. Check out their custom cakes, no one makes a better homemade cake for a special occasion! your friends and family will be blown away! This is a local, family run business that is just awesome! Forget the Panerras and stone ovens of the world and try some scratch baking!
