A great little out of the way place in historic Sharpsburg. We go there every time that we visit the grandparents. They pay, most of the time.

It was a great place to get Ice Cream during the hot summer heat. The cups and floats were both fantastic. The price was amazing and its a cute little shop. However, the lady was a little rude when serving, but could have been a bad day.

This review is courtesy of Dee from Martinsburg with multiple multiple thanks. I pass Nutter’s daily on my way from Shepherdstown and back again home. And Nutter’s is the most popular spot in Sharpsburg, with always a line out the door and street parking is nil. Today, I was finally able to park, the line wasn’t there, and I was all excited… until I discovered it was cash only. I asked the angelic Dee if there was an ATM nearby. She wasn’t sure but said let’s go in Nutter’s and see. We went in and it was a vintage ice cream store, complete with no ATM. I despaired of my rotten timing and was turning to leave when Dee said to hold our place in line. She came back quickly and had money for me, my oldest daughter, and herself for ice cream. I was, and still am, overwhelmed by her generosity. As for the ice cream, the most generous portions I’ve seen to date and it was $ 2 for a hand dipped ice cream on a cone. I had the cookies and cream, sweet Dee had the java chip with cookies and cream, and my daughter had rainbow sherbet. We ate inside with a companionable silence while noting the business at Nutter’s didn’t lag once. The two ice cream scoopers were the fastest and polite I’ve seen. I will come back, with cash, and with a grateful smile because of Dee’s kindness.

Smells filthy inside. I don’t care how old the building is, no food establishment should have a pervasive odor that leaves you wondering about its sanitation.

Well worth making a special trip! Their ice cream is the best I’ve had, and their prices are so low it’s hard to see how they do it. Absolute bucket list experience!

First time here, yummy! Cozy little place and historical. We ordered banana splits. $ 6 each, choose our own ice cream and toppings. They were huge! Tasted wonderful. Love this place. Very nice selection of ice cream. I can’t believe we live only 15 mins from here and didn’t know about this gem of a place. They don’t take debit or credit, only cash or checks.

A nice variety of flavors; very cheap — for the scoop size(couldn’t finish a small — two scoops). Nutter’s is on the route of the Antietem driving tour(conspiracy?!) and an absolute must-do after your trip around the battlefield. I prefer slightly creamier ice cream, but a strong 4 star establishment!

A true, old fashioned, delicious, home-town ice cream shop. Love it. Even when the line is wrapped outside of the building, it is absolutely worth the wait! Milkshakes are amazing and so are all of the normal ice creams. If there is a perfect temperature to store your ice cream at, Nutters knows it.

A perfect way to complement your day trip to Antietam National Battlefield, Nutter’s Ice Cream has some of the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. There were a lot of flavors to choose from and I get a lot of ice cream for the small price I paid. I also like the historic building Nutter’s occupies and the area outside near the clock where you can sit down and enjoy the bikers buzzing by on their Saturday afternoon rides.

You can’t leave Sharpsburg without getting Nutter’s! It was a perfect way to end your trip to Antietam. They have many different flavors, you’ll definitely find one you like! The ice cream has the perfect texture and isn’t too creamy or too milky, but just right. It’s extremely cheap too! Only about $ 2 for a small, which contains 2 huge scoops of ice cream. It’s a great place to visit! My group loved it so much, we ended up going twice in a week before we left the area.
