Coldest beer and friendliest atmosphere. Private club but worth the $ 10/year membership fee. There’s always something happening.

Would never go there. The owner(featured on Bar Rescue) cheated the head waitress who agreed to buy it, She got shafted. Can’t believe Taffer continued to help the place after the owner did that. And the owners son cam off as a total arsehole. The kinda kid that thinks he’s entitled, knows everything, and aint got a clue.

The only thing this place is missing is a for sale sign out front. The owner and his half wit son don’t know beer from piss. This place is good for people watching if you want to see people who have recently been spotlighted on KCTV5 news for child endangerment, or Kansas City’s most wanted list. This place doesn’t deserve the rank of hole in the wall, just maybe a butt hole in the wall. John Taffer wasted his time and money on Bar Rescue trying to revive this place and it was extremely embarrassing for the Kansas City area. This is one time I am for freedom of choice, and I choose & recommend that the bar industry declare this dump an abortion and clean it out of the bowels of our society. Love, Don Julio Juan

Private club. I haven’t been back there for a few years. I really like the bartenders! Not so crazy about some of the crowd, ie. hooligans fighting, cars getting stolen. loud people causing a scene. Some days were just fine, nice and quiet! On the weekends is when it sometimes gets out of hand. They have a DJ. We still couldn’t figure out why the music would skip at the end of songs when the DJ was playing? Oh well, they have pool tables, dart machine, and other electronic games and a dance floor that gets good use on weekends. They have a good mexican food carryout restaurant next door if you get there early enough.

KC’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill anchors a tiny strip mall in an otherwise residential area on the JoCo side of the Johnson-Wyandotte county line. I had always thought it was a Shawnee bar, but it turns out it also sits and the juncture of three city lines too and is just barely inside Merriam. To get around the smoking ban, this bar is a private club. The bartender asked us repeatedly for our membership IDs, each time she did we’d either pretend not to hear or distract her by asking an unrelated question. Eventually she either gave up or forgot and finally served us. Once we were over that hurdle, we had a good time here. The bartender was fun and goofed around with us. The bar has several widescreen TVs and a good beer selection. There is a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights.
