Not great. It was nice outside so we sat outside and our table kept wobbling back and forth spilling drinks everywhere. Our server was good, food came quickly. When we got our food my group and I were kind of surprised to find that they do not give you hardly any beans or rice. I felt the prices didn’t match the taste or portion.

This place is really easy to get into and the food is good but be careful what you order, sometimes the tortillas are a bit stale. Go for the fried tacos, they win every time.

I have been eating at Margarita’s all over KC for years. It has been a year or so since I frequented the one closest to our house. I was disappointed. Service was slow. Our server mentioned that she had been quadruple sat. We told her no problem as long as we got our drinks. That was still slow. If they would have bused some tables they should could handle more business. We paid $ 27 for a pitcher or margarita’s. They were barely tolerable. The two wife’s would not drink since so tart. The food… the carnita’s were excellent. The chimichanga and tacos were average. I went with the Margarita Special… have had many times in the past. Won’t get their signature item again… the tortilla was definitely not fresh. Almost chewy. I would guess the beans came from the bottom of the pot. I did find three small pieces of pork. Was a bad meal. Lots of other Mexican places nearby… will check those out for the near future.

I love love love this place! Best taco Tuesday in town! Chips are always crispy, salsa tastes fresh, and the food is quick and hot. Great Tex-Mex. Service is really great too. Aaron served me at the bar and he was absolutely fabulous, friendly, and precise. The environment is relaxed, so feel free to go casual. I highly recommend this joint!

I love this place! I have been going there for years. They make a few items exceptionally well. They’re best items are puffy chicken or regular tacos, chicken enchiladas and margarita(white cheese) dip. I highly recommend the puffy chicken tacos. The puffy tacos are made with flour tortillas instead of corn. I am not a fan of any of their items made with ground beef. Their ground beef is bland. Not impressed with their nachos either. Fyi for you Coke drinkers, they serve Pepsi products.

Some friends and I went here for a Taco Tuesday to celebrate a friend who is leaving for Denver soon. We traditionally do our Mexican business elsewhere but we hadn’t tried Margaritas yet so we stopped in. The salsa and chips(rather intact half corn tortilla in crispy fashion) were good and plentiful. The cheese dip was also pretty delicious, evidenced by the fact that we went through two orders while we waited on the rest of our party to arrive. As for food, we each ordered our own entrees even though we had eaten a bunch of chips beforehand. I ended up with two cheese and onion enchiladas which they topped with their red sauce rather than their enchilada sauce because they weren’t sure the enchilada sauce was gluten free. I wasn’t surprised given that most other places’ enchilada sauce isn’t gluten free, so actually the red sauce was perfect and a bit lighter than the enchilada sauce from what I saw on other’s plates. I liked the enchiladas a lot as they were cheesy and delicious. Other people at the table got tacos and cleaned their plates. My friend’s taco salad was only half eaten and the quesadillas on the table were destroyed in quick fashion. Last, but not least, the margaritas were tasty. There were so many flavors. Watermelon and raspberry were our favorites. All in all, a good meal and good drinks though the service could use some work but perhaps that was just because it was incredibly busy.

Their food is good gringo tex/mex but the refried beans had a rock in them. A ¼ inch rock that could have chipped a tooth! I took it out of my mouth and waited til the waitress came with the bill. I showed her the tooth and she picked it up, saying nonchalantly the vendor has been giving them the rocks in the beans. I was discrete and didn’t want it comped. When leaving, she avoided eye contact. Left her 22% tip. Im never going in there again! Be careful chewing if you go.

Love this place, always have, always will. My favorites: Any of their enchiladas Their margaritas Tacos — soggy — get over it… they’re amazing and meant to be that way The salsa and chips The queso Watching the Royals play on one of their many tvs It just doesn’t get any better for a quick bite of Mexican food and a good dose of tequila. Not fancy, not healthy, but delightful in every way. Cheers amigos!

I have always had awesome experiences at Margarita’s West; we usually dine there four times a month. The salsa and chips are plentiful, and the meals arrive promptly. They offer great daily deals(i.e. BOGO Beef Tacos on Tuesdays). The servers are friendly and hard-working; they are constantly on the move taking orders, bringing meals, refilling drinks. Everyone has different opinions on authentic Mexican cuisine, but Margarita’s is my choice. Family favorites are their chicken tacos, fajitas, Durango, and tostadas.

The food was awesome! From Southern California and am very picky about my Mexican food and I am a fan of Margarita’s! Only bummer was that it got SUPER cold in there(after being pretty warm when we got in), and the staff didn’t seem to try to accommodate or acknowledge customers’ discomfort. Not a deal breaker, just putting it out there that they might want to get the thermostat reconfigured. I’ll definitely be back though(maybe with a jacket next time).

Close to where I live, good parking, good service. I’ve always had a great here with others no matter what time of day. The food is pretty standard«Mexican food».

Service was great, food was okay… expensive for Mexican! Almost 6 $ for ONE beef enchilada off the ala carte menu! Almost every thing costs extra to add including ordering your food with the(free) salsa on top(of a chimichanga)… actual margaritas are okay, very strong with poor quality tequila, tasted like rubbing alcohol. not impressed with quality except the margarita dip which is nothing more than watered down white cheese with onions tomatoes and spinach in it. But that is like crack anyways haha! Seriously though, won’t be back.

If you like greasy, cheese covered, bland food then this is the place for you! I don’t. The salsa is too sweet, even the«hot» salsa isn’t hot. Their tacos come out soggy and when you pick them up, they fall apart. The puffy tacos at nearly $ 4 each aren’t that special. The last 3 times I had the margarita dip it was cold. The chicken is dry, there is no seasoning on the beef and when I ordered the carnitas they were so greasy you could pour the liquid off the plate. My recommendation? Go across the street to Fronteras!

I had not been to this place for about six years — It was just as amazing as I had recalled it being back then! This time I tried the #8 — The Margarita Special. Instead of having to choose between the two cheese options that go over the burrito, our waitress offered to have each put both on the two halves.(Score!) It was AH-MAY-ZING!!! You should definitely try it. :)

Took a while to get seated(with tables open) but after we got service it was attentive. Food was tasty for tex mex. Chips and salsa are good! Try the hot salsa — good flavor and not overly spicy. Fried ice cream for the kids of course.

I would much rather drive downtown in rush hour, than have to wait for the service at this location. The food is good, but the service is terrible! Have to wait to be greeted when you walk in, wait to be seated, wait for chips. No one is friendly! Have been there many times for love of the good, but every single time am disappointed with the service! And it wouldn’t hurt them to clean the place every once and a while! Drive across the street for wayy better service and food!

Awesome chicken fajita salad was different. Not your average salad from a Mexican joint. Cheap and easy to choose from the menu. Annoying service from the front door to the table. We were sat next to the bathrooms. Not my favorite spot. Bus/water boy kept delivering water with his thumb in my cup. I couldn’t believe it. I drank the water though and I didn’t die. Waitress obviously took a smoke break while we were actually hoping to get our check delivered. Salsa was bland. Chips were like half taco shells that were warm and fresh yet old and stale at the same time. It’s confusing I know but if you try one you will be like, yeahhhh I get it. Not a fan. Worth the try. Won’t be back. There are much better mexican food restaurants.
