My wife and I were happy to find this strip mall full of tasty latin food. We stumbled upon Mi Chihuahua when another restaurant we were looking for was closed. We saw plenty of traffic through the store and decided to check it out. For a place in the burbs the food was excellent. We had the tacos– barbacoa, pastor, lengua, and buche. The price was right as well, 1.50−1.99 for a taco and 1.75 for a medium drink, we had the coco and the horchata. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a nice«hole in the wall» experience.

I ordered the torta Cubana and a can of Coke for a total of $ 9.25. My order was delivered to my table with a smile in about three minutes. The torta had plenty of tasty meat, fresh veggies, cheese, and guac, but the bread was stale, which ruined it for me. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean, with one TV and Mexican music playing. I think I’ll stick with the tacos next time.

The food here is excellent! My favorite is the Alambre. Not much English spoken here, which is refreshing. I am only giving four stars because there was a slight mildewy smell when I walked in that I lost track of once my food arrived.

Mi Chihuahua(formerly La Chihuahua) is one of my favorite little hole in the wall places for a quick bite. If you don’t speak Spanish, depending on who is working there, you might have to do a lot of pointing and sign language, but it’s totally worth it. The last time we were there, the gentleman who took our order spoke no English at all, but with my crappy high school Spanish, we managed to order our food and get checked out with no need for sign language. Just keep this in mind if you speak no Spanish… you may need a bit of patience and/or a smart phone to help you translate. One of my favorites at Mi Chihuahua is the escites. It’s probably the least healthy Mexican food you can eat, but it’s one of my favorite foods on this earth. It’s a cup full of corn in a soupy mess of cheese, mayo and chili powder. You wouldn’t imagine this stuff would be so fabulous, but I could eat it daily and never tire of it. Yum! My hubby ordered the tilapia off of their specials menu the last time we went and I had a bite of it and it was really lovely. They also have a really nice shrimp coctel and their tacos are excellent, too. Another favorite of mine is the aguas frescas(literally«fresh waters,» but refreshing milky fruit or horchata flavored drinks) which come in several flavors. The interior of the restaurant is very small with only a few tables. You place your order at the register and they’ll bring your food out to you when it’s ready. You then go back to the register to pay. It’s helpful to know this if you happen to be there when there isn’t anyone who speaks English working the front of the restaurant.
