We’ve eaten at several Big Biscuit restaurants in the KC area. This was our first visit to this particular location. Food was wonderful. My husband ordered the loaded sticky biscuit and shared it with me and our granddaughter. It was SO wonderful. We live about 5 hours from KC and I sure wish I could find a recipe to make these myself! I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, grits, crispy bacon, and a biscuit. Everything was cooked perfectly(grits had NO lumps – YEA!!) and delicious. My husband ordered basted eggs with bacon and fruit. Our granddaughter ordered just a bowl of fruit. The fruit was very fresh and tasty. We had a good server except she got lost when it was time to pay, so I ended up leaving cash instead of a credit card.

My family and I went here for breakfast. Food was really good. My kiddo got the kids chocolate chip pancakes with fruit and chocolate milk. He loved it and he got free refills on his drink. My husband got the big breakfast which had a lot of food so he gave me the pancakes and I order 2 scrambled eggs to go with them. The pancakes where huge they were as big as the plate. Sadly they did end up messing up on our order but they were nice about it and fixed it.

I was surprised at the service and meal I had, I would recommend it to anybody. I just wished they would have you pay at a cash register, I’m not comfortable handing a stranger my credit card.

A solid place to grab breakfast or brunch! Our server was really cool, prompt, and helpful. I had blueberry French toast which was pretty good and my friend enjoyed biscuits and gravy with breakfast potatoes and bacon which was made crispy to perfection. Good traditional breakfast options here and the restaurant itself is really modern and nicely decorated inside.

The Big Biscuit has always been one of my favorites for a great breakfast, the service and food keep it as one of my go to places. Today I was very disappointed, not with the food or service, but the management who decided a meeting about side work was more important than servers fulfilling customers requests. They cleared the floor of workers to have a loud, somewhat demeaning meeting in the kitchen while a customers need for silverware to eat the food on their table was delayed. Someone needs to remind this manager that there are better ways to handle the administrative side of the business if they want to keep their customers.

I’m glad they serve breakfast late. We ate around 11:00 am on a weekday and breakfast was still being served. Our favorite was the biscuit and gravy! Friendly staff too.

I rarely give any establishment 5 stars, after all, no one is perfect. However, I feel my experience with the Big Biscuit in Lawrence, merits all 5! Star #1 is for the food, of course! Their Sticky Biscuits are Heavensent! Star #2 is for their service — they are quick to the table with a smile, your food, and anything else you need or want. #3 is for the cleanliness and roominess of the restaurant, it is definitely not a fast food environment! I love that! Star #4 is for the menu — varied selection, something for every appetite! Finally, but not least, the 5th star is for the staff. A manager took my order for those amazing Sticky Biscuits, popped them in the oven for me even though it was fairly close to closing time and kept the doors open so that I could come back and pick the Biscuits up! If all that doesn’t deserve * * * * *, I don’t know what does!

This is a great place for breakfast. The coffee is good, the server is super nice. The omelet was cooked perfectly as was the bacon. My friend got the biscuits and gravy, and he loved them. They are really good(I sneaked a bite of two). My only complaint is the music. Very old and annoying. I usually do not mind this genre of music so much, but the majority of the customers in here are younger. It is also really loud. Otherwise, the environment is nice and clean.

Only been one time, but the biscuits and gravy are amazing. Priced well, because the biscuits are huge. One biscuit, is the equivalent to having two biscuits. Fast service, very clean place.. My boyfriend has the pancakes and they were huge. We are definitely going to go back.

Well when we came to The Big Biscuit, I had high hopes for a great breakfast. A group of four in to KC for the weekend and looking for a place to have breakfast on Sunday morning before our drive home. Friends told us to try The Biscuit. Im not giving one star because of the food or price as they were both good. Only because it was a terrible experience with service and management. It began when we were served our drinks, the waitress dumped my large coke all over the table, floor and my shoes. I understand these things happen, she quickly ran off to leave us sitting with all the mess on the floor, table and me. Needless to say literally 5 minutes we sat there, no return from her, waiters and waitresses walking by with no one saying a word. I had to get up and find the manager to ask if they planned to clean it up. His response… she will be back in a minute. Not I will move you to a different table as they were not full. They came back and cleaned up finally, we had our breakfast and went on to pay our bill. Did the Manager try to help the situation by discounting our meal??? In no way! I payed the bill with cash and the waitress then returns with the wrong change. I explained the error to her and she went off to refigure it. Next she returns to explain how i was incorrect by showing me her hand figured calculations. I in return pulled out my phone calculator to help her understand, and off she went again. back for the third time and still confused I said get your manager. He returns and finally brings correct change with not even a thank you at the end. SO would i say go because the breakfast is good? NO chance, good luck if you decide to try it.

We went to The Big Biscuit for a late breakfast on a Friday morning. We were seated promptly and the service was friendly. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and uncluttered. We ordered the corn beef hash and kids pancake breakfast. Breakfast portions were ample and well prepared. The menu items are traditional breakfast and lunch fare– but what makes The Big Biscuit stand out is they live up to their name with gut-filling portions. Recommendations– the big breakfast, veggie omelette, eggs Benedict. Wear your pants with the elastic waistband.

Very good breakfast to have when you are in Kansas City! Love their biscuits and gravy and nice big fluffy pancakes. Loved coming here when I lived here and had to stop here for breakfast is a definite must! Great place to come with friends and have good eats and enjoy coffee and breakfast. During the week I remember is the best time to come. The week be prepared to wait for awhile for a table. Food comes out quick and hot, love that they have warm syrup!

My second visit to Big Biscuit, first time at this location. This review is based upon my visit last weekend. Award winning biscuits and gravy? What kind of award was this? Most mediocre? They’re boring. Nothing special about the biscuits and gravy here. They came with Jim’s Platter. I like they leave you with a small carafe of coffee once you order a cup. Pretty basic food. Staff is friendly. Seems to be a pretty clean place. I will return to try the cinnamon roll pancakes.

Sticky bun … I could end there but I won’t despite it being amazing there was more. I enjoyed the food and the decent price. The only down side was the wait… But when you go on a Sunday you should expect as much. The food was made promptly and brought out fresh and hot and I didn’t have top send out back like I have had to do at“fine dining” establishments. It has a truck stop feel with out the trucker smell which from previous work experience I can tell you is wonderful news for the place. Try it I bet you that disappointment wrong be on the menu.

My husband and I have visited The Big Biscuit at least four different times. Every time the service has been AMAZING. The food is great! And the wait time isn’t as long as other places. We really like it here and haven’t visited any other breakfast places since we stumbled upon this GEM! I highly recommend it it!

Great place for a hearty breakfast! I had an amazing Belgian waffle combo with pecans, caramel and powdered sugar with bacon and scrambled eggs. My fellow diners had a breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict and we all shared an order of their famous biscuits and sausage gravy. Everything was well prepared and perfectly seasoned. My waffle was light and fluffy as were the biscuits. Our server was charming and energetic. I dare you to leave this place hungry!

Price seemed high for the quality. Plus I just wanted a little bit more holindaise sauce but they charge 2.19 other than that it was good just seemed priced high.

I love the potatoes and french toast, but the«big biscuit?» Eh… It’s dry, and not all that big. Hence the three star rating. The pancakes are alright too. I will be back for another try. Perhaps for brunch or lunch.
