These comments are related to an order placed 12÷08÷16 from the Lamson & Goodnow online direct order site. Customer Service is non-existent at this business. To date, as of this review, I have not received the knife ordered, some 2 ½ months later. What’s inexcusable is that numerous emails, and voice mails in the past months have gone completely unanswered. No live person ever answered the phone at the business’s customer relations number. I have disputed the charges with my credit card company and had this transaction cancelled. It’s the worst service, hard to even call it that since there wasn’t any(service), I ever experienced from a supposedly reputable company. Don’t buy anything from this company unless you use a payment system where you can refute the charges when you don’t receive the merch.

Lamson & Goodnow make quality knives right here in Massachusetts, although the factory has recently had to move from Shelburne Falls. The factory outlet remains here, though. A great place to pick up a new Lamson & Goodnow knife or take a look at their(amazing deal) factory seconds. The gentleman staffing the place was incredibly helpful and happy to explain all of their knife lines, the history of the factory, the history of Shelburne Falls, restaurants and tourist attractions we should be sure not to miss, etc. A really great experience. There’s also a picnic table outside with a fantastic view of the glacial potholes, and it’s a short walk from the Bridge of Flowers and the rest of downtown Shelburne Falls.

The Lambson spreader will make you famous. The very best hostess gifts can be found here as well as any number of never knew you needed that items. Kind of amazing period building down and around in a corner of town one normally doesn’t travel to. All on the picturesque shores of the Deerfield river in quaint Shelburne Falls(or is it on the Buckland side?)

Terrible experience with Lamson. I purchased a knife from them and needed it shipped to my home. They charged me twice for the order. Not a big deal, it happens. I called and they immediately fixed the problem with no hassle. Then I get an e-mail saying they forgot to charge me shipping and were going to apply the charge to my card(giving me a heads up but without my authorization). I was very annoyed by this as the price I was quoted and paid for initially was the out the door price. However, the knife was a Christmas present and I was willing to eat the extra charge as it was cutting it close to the big day and I didn’t want to have to find an alternate present. Fast forward a week. I called to check on my order as I was never given a tracking number and Christmas was 2 days away. I got their voice mail and left my info. No call back. I called again the next day and they told me the knife never shipped and might be out of stock but they couldn’t tell for sure(WTF!?). Today is the day before Christmas and this was to be a gift for my mom. Thanks Lamson. I see you have filed for bankruptcy this year. Maybe treating your customers this way is a contributing factor.

This is a fantastic store for chefs or anyone that loves to cook and needs some new knives and/or other kitchen tools and gadgetry! Lots of knives to choose from — both stamped and forged. And some interesting knife configurations that I’ve not seen from other knife manufacturers!

some pretty crazy knives and other kitchen goods. american made knives are not something you see often, and these guys specialize in that. if you like to cook and cut and chop and butcher, this place is one you have to get to. some of the discount knives were so inexpensive it was hard to pass up.

This cool store is in an old mill building very close to downtown Shelburne Falls. A cooker or baker? You will hear angels singing as you enter Lamson & Goodnow. Even if there’s nothing in particular you need it’s just fun to look around. They have everything from the cheap basics to the fancy-shmancy high-end American brand names. Anything you need to prepare an awesome meal or some delectable treats you can find here. I wish their baking section was a little bit bigger but it’s still pretty good. Kitchen gadget freaks, this is your paradise. If Inspector Gadget moonlighted as a chef, he would shop here. Prices vary. You can get some decent stuff for cheap but most of the price tags are what you would see in other stores. If you’re going for high-quality you will pay full price here unless you hit a special sale but at least you know it’s good stuff. The knives, for example, are excellent(I will be getting my next set from here) but don’t expect a bargain. I live in Boston but when I get my next apartment I will be driving the two hours to come here and buy my kitchen stuff.

If you are a chef or knife(cooking) enthusiast that wants to buy top quality and MADEINUSA, this is one of the two places in Mass, and probably the US to do buy. They have a great selection of factory firsts and second(meaning it has blemishes or something). The Seconds are usually half the cost but from a utilization perspective, just as good. The knives run from table steak knives to some pretty serious back of the house cutlery. Long tangs and solid hard wood handles(as well as other decorative polly’). They are well balanced and you will just need to sort out what fits best in your hand. The blades are all forged. Well, there is a new line out that I believe is stamped with a new higher carbon element. Anyway, it is a great shop and well worth a look see. If you are just wandering, this is probably 3 star, if you are looking to buy, it is a 4 star.
