I’ve eaten here twice. It’s tough when traveling to find good gluten free food and their specials are very good. I’m not vegan, but really loved a spinach pasta dish I had there recently(WOW was it good). I could maybe be persuaded to become vegan if I could have that dish regularly. Nice décor, plants, magazines. The only drawback to me is the lack of regular bottled spring water(tap only unless you want it fizzy) or juice.

We ate here by default the other night as our first choice was too crowded. Five of us LOVED the food! I had the curry, it was perfect and SO flavorful. Great fried onion rings and fries which were served with a delicious garlic sauce, fries served very hot. People who work here are awesome and I had not met them before. Very reasonably priced, casual.

We love this place! As vegetarians it’s often difficult to find good food at a restaurant that isn’t pre made or a frozen patty. Hearty Eats is fresh, hearty, and tasty. A great tribute to healthy eating.

This is a great, casual restaurant, particularly for vegetarian/vegan food. I have been a number of times and always enjoyed the food. I’ve had their Mediterranean falafel, Indian curry, fish soup, fried Brussels sprouts, and ginger hibiscus iced tea. When you walk in, there is a large menu on the wall behind the counter, and you order at the register. I’ve always found the employees to be welcoming and very friendly. After paying, you grab utensils and napkins and seat yourself, and they bring your food to you when it’s ready. The Mediterranean falafel dish is large, and it comes with falafel, hummus, brown rice, a variety of fresh, marinated, and pickled vegetables, and tahini dressing. Overall, this is a good dish, and will more than fill anyone up. The hummus generally has strong garlic taste, which I like, but some may not enjoy it as much as I do. The falafel tastes somewhat different from most other falafel I’ve had at other restaurants — which again might be a strong hint of garlic. Additionally, I’ve found it to be less crispy than most falafel I’ve had. The fresh and pickled vegetables are an excellent contrast to the heavier falafel, hummus, and tahini. The Indian curry dish is very good. It consists of chickpeas, onions, and carrots over brown rice with a nicely spiced curry sauce with cilantro and greens. I really enjoyed this dish, as the chickpeas and vegetables were very well cooked and had great texture. Further, the curry was excellently spiced, less mild than I expected but far from overpowering the other flavors. The cilantro on top is a nice, fresh addition to this dish. The fish soup I had here was a special, I believe, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. They typically only have fish on the weekend(Friday afternoon-Sunday), so I thought I’d try this. The soup was very reasonably priced(I remember it being $ 6) for its size. They were generous with the amount of fish, and the broth was not too salty. I found that, by the time I had finished the soup, I had little room left for my entrée, though the soup was good. I would recommend someone having the soup with another dish order the smaller size. A family member of mine tried the fried Brussels sprouts, and I tasted a few of them. I’m a big fan of Brussels sprouts, and these did not disappoint. Because they were fried, I expected them not to be crispy and to be strangely textured(I normally prefer Brussels sprouts roasted), I found them to be unique and very good. Last, I’ve had the ginger hibiscus iced tea several times. This drink is fairly mild in flavor and is not sweet, but it has a great hibiscus scent and good taste(and it’s a beautiful, deep red color). I can also vouch, through others, for their kombucha(on tap), ginger libation(locally made alcoholic ginger drink), «the basics» bowl entrée, and the far east bowl.

We ate a delicious meal, with fresh made hummus, falafel, tahini, pickled veges, Thai cole slaw, curry, and Thai fish tacos. Everything was perfect. This if fast becoming on of our favorite haunts. Would eat here regularly if it was a bit closer to home. A much needed addition to western Mass food fare.

Absolutely outstanding restaurant! The best hummus I’ve ever had(best falafel too!) and that’s just to start. Their specials will blow your mind. Fried rice balls with butternut squash, sage and pumpkin seed pesto YUM! I’m not a big fan of froofie food, and get scared off easily, but everything I’ve ever eaten in this restaurant has been mind blowing. Ok, I didn’t dig the brownie(bitter chocolate isn’t my thing) but everything else, wow. Even the pickiest eater can find something if they dare experiment. The fact that they are gluten free and vegan(other than the fish specials) is a plus but frankly beside the point, the pickiest animal eater would enjoy it. No frills, self busing, food is served hot and fast, wine, beer, kambucha, even hot cider(with a shot of whiskey for $ 2 more!) affordable and delicious.

Hearty eats saved us from the cardiac arrest we would have had by choosing any other option at brimfield. Our lunch was delicious! Fresh and brilliant combinations.

Love this place, can’t ask for anything better for vegetarian fare. I couldn’t decide what to try because everything sounded so great. We had the 413 bowl and the Indian curry. Both were amazing. The woman at the counter suggested we get some tortilla chips to scoop up the yummy curry sauce, and I’m so glad we did! The chips were warm; not sure if they’re made in house but either way, a nice touch. The miso gravy in the 413 bowl was delicious, and I think the tempeh was house made. Also have a really great beer selection, including drafts. We’ll be back next time we’re in Shelbourne Falls.

Maybe I got them on an off day. Pleasant atmosphere. High hopes. Very disappointed. I ordered, gave the cashier/counter person a $ 20 for a $ 10 meal and two minutes later she says«that will be $ 10». I said I just gave you a $ 20. She then said«oh, right». Gave her a tip anyway. Food was ok but an infantismally chintzy portion size. I’m sure it’s healthy and great ingredients(what little there were of them) but now I’m on my way to get a sandwich at McCuskers cause I’m still really hungry. It was pretty empty at lunchtime. Should be fantastic. Was not.

This place has wonderful food! Whenever I have my friends come over from NYC and Boston this is always where we go for lunch/dinner. Not only is the food good but it’s basically the only vegan restaurant in Shelburne Falls.

What a welcome addition to Bridge Street. So happy to find a cozy gluten free eatery that also has gluten free beer. The Baja fish tacos were tasty and crisp.

Drawn by the name, we stopped in here for lunch today. We had potato soup and fish ‘n chips. The food was very good and served up fast. All the entrees coming from the kitchen looked appetizing. Prices are very reasonable. If you’re in the mood for vegetarian cuisine, this should be your stop in Shelburne Falls.

As a farmer, I happen to know that these guys source locally grown organic ingredients. Full disclosure, they do buy some of it from my farm. This is a very good reason to eat here :) Beyond that local commitment though, there’s a lot to enjoy at Hearty Eats. I ordered a lentil soup from them that came well-seasoned and chock full of tasty vegetables. The falafel are the best I’ve had, ever. I just order them straight up to go sometimes by the ball with tahini sauce. Each dish I’ve had has been great. It’s also food that you feel good having eaten. Good in the body. Thanks guys for all you do!

This food is made with L O V E. Organic, fresh, local ingredients are used. It’s always quick and delicious and the people are friendly. Prices are very fair for high-quality food. The menu is relatively simple, and that’s a good thing because what they do, they do very well. I’ve had the Mediterranean Falafel Salad a couple of times. It’s huge and the falafel is excellent. I have also tried the Curry Bowl and the Thai Noodle Salad, both also awesome. I like that they use almond sauce instead of the typical peanut on the Thai Noodle Salad; it’s a nice change. They also have kombucha on tap. You can sit indoors or out, or take it out and sit by the glacial potholes or Bridge of Flowers! Definitely some of the best food in the area.

We stopped in expecting the sandwich shop that used to be here, and we were in for such a great surprise! The curry bowl is delish, just on the spicy side of mild with a surprise layer of yummy greens between the curry and the rice. Mmmmm. We also tried the falafel salad, featuring homemade falafel, hummus, tahini and greens– all delicious, and earning a big thumbs up from my Lebanese/Syrian spouse(no small feat). Healthy, fresh and thoroughly yummy!
