This place could only get better if it had more local offerings. Haven’t seen such lovely faire in a market since I lived in NYC or when visiting other major cities. Presentation is 5-star. Great wine selection. Lovely meats and seafood. Veggies and fruits look pristine. Owner is very nice. Staff is helpful. Prices are super expensive, even for Vermont. Great for if you’re cooking dinner for a very special occasion or want to impress your guests. Fun just to stop in and look. Not like other local shops.

High quality, no doubt, but the prices… holy, holy… I have never, ever paid so much for meat and fish outside of a restaurant. Not even when I lived in NYC. My wife and I wanted to try them so we splurged, and the quality was great. However… just can’t pay these prices again until i become part of the 1%. Sad… One skewer of marinated shrimp(5 shrimp) $ 11 One piece of marinated Sea Bass $ 22 Crab cakes $ 30 a pound so, one large crab cake is about $ 15 Also, if you want ice with the expensive fresh fish you bought to be sure it does not go bad… well, they charge you for it.

This is one of the best butcher’s shops I’ve been to in the area. The meat is constantly high quality, the staff is friendly and the selection is great. The prices are higher than what you would pay at Shaws or Price Chopper, but you get what you pay for.

One of the reasons I’m so tough on restaurants that serve steak is that invariably the cut is not as good as the cut I can get at the Shelburne Meat Market. This little shop at Taft’s Corner in Williston has the best steak, pork, and chicken you’ll find. It is NOT cheap. It is the best quality and if you want the best, you need to pay for it. I’d rather pay their price for a steak and cook it myself than pay the equal price at a restaurant and get a bad, skinny, low quality cut. Their meats is worth the price. I’ve had a number of their cuts of beef, NY Strip, aged Strip, Rib Eye and marinated steak tips. Their rib eye’s are so huge they look like something out of the Flintstones. The NY Strip is my favorite(aged of course). It is a wonderful cut of meat. They also have inch and a half thick center cut pork loin chops. Being able to find thick cut pork chops has proven difficult before I found this place. If you’d like, you can get their house stuffed chops. We’ve had them for dinner a few times and they are large enough for lunch the next day as well. In truth, all their cuts are big enough for two meals, at least. They also sell in-house marinated steak tips and chicken. The teriyaki steak tips are so full of flavor and cook up nice an tender. The chicken is equally as tasty. To top it all off they can do custom cuts and orders. I’ve ordered ribs and pork shoulder from them in the past and with a day or two notice it’s never been a problem. I cannot recommend the Shelburne Meat Market enough if you want the finest meat in the area.
