Hungry Howie’s Pizza

I WOULD LEAVE NO STAR IF I COULD. So I got a call back from the owner today. He said that he would offer me a «discount» or «an item» when I make my next order. There will not be another time. He went on to explain that kids try to get free stuff and people would make xerox copies of coupons… SERIOUSLY??? I’m an adult woman that doesn’t eat a lot of pizza to ruin my figure anyway and just cannot see many people in this neighborhood trying to scam to get free pizza. The taste was a bit off too.
This location is a joke. Hungry Howies used to be my favorite pizza place to order from and this is the only one closest to me. I will be calling Jet’s in the plaza across the street. I’ve already told my neighbors not to order from this location. I wouldn’t feel comfortable going back there. I wouldn’t trust it. Seems shady.

Nice and reliable. Ive ordered here for deluvery and carryout several times. They have always been polite and nice. Even my free pizza coupons were truly free.

I was nice to give 1 star, this is only because the pizza is decent. The owners here are rude and disrespectful. Like other reviewers we tend to put up with the poor service due to the fact our family likes the pizza. My trip there tonight will be my absolute last. The owner was rude, and refused to give my son our order because he did not give him the correct phone number. Even though my son provided him with my full name and the items in the order, the owner stated he could not find it from the 3 orders that were in the window. I went into the store to question the owner and all I got was a rude attitude from him as well. I provided the correct phone number and he magically went right to my order, again 1 of 3 in the window. When I took my pizzas that were paid for online the owner lunged over the counter and tried grabbing the pizza boxes out of my hands, meanwhile ripping the box and nearly dumping them on the floor. I will NEVER go back to this location again. Apparently from the other reviews this owner is not happy with his career choice and is living a miserable life by taking it out on his customers. I would rather drive an extra 15 minutes to go to any other location. Please do not give these poor excuse for business owners a penny of your money. There are many great pizza places very close by that treat their customers with respect they deserve.

One star is being generous! Got a free large pizza coupon from Gardner white. When I called they told me I owed .60 cents tax. Even though a cheese only on their web site said it was $ 8.00. Tax on $ 8.00 is not .60 cents. I called their headquarters and they said that location should NOT be charging tax on a free item. And that the headquarters was paying them a full price plus tax for each one they turn in. They promised they would take care of it.
I called Gardner White and asked the to Clarify what a free pizza really meant. They also assured me they give Hungry Howies sales tax and they were very upset to hear their customers where going through this.
I ordered again today (mind you it’s suppose to be taken care of by now, 3 weeks later) and they charge me the .60 cents AGAIN. When I explain to them they are dipping double for sales tax. They said it’s how their computers are set up and that not only did their headquarters lie, but so did Gardner White. She (the owner) said they only give her $ 3.00. And proceeded to ask me why me and my husband didn’t make enough money to afford the .60 cents. I said that’s not the point. She then yelled at me and told me why order their pizza if I couldn’t afford the .60 cents. And told me to never order from them again and get out of her store and never come back. She said if I did she would call the police. I said that’s a good idea, let’s call them. She started yelling at me and said take your free lunch and get out. (mind you nobody was in the store but me and the employees).
This is how come I think so many people in the area say they are crooks. But I can say they sure will cheat you if they can. BEWARE!!! There is some shady practices going on here.

This location is terrible. First, something goes on with their credit card payments. They ask for ID for credit card payments and they try and copy down your driver’s license number after you have already paid over the phone. Why would they need all of your billing information? If that’s not reason enough to avoid this place, the guy who took our order over the phone (Vick H) was extremely rude and demeaning. He would interrupt my questions as if he had better things to do. We then requested that no one rings the doorbell, and of course, the doorbell rang 25 minutes later.
When I called to complain to the manager, it was a woman who also would interrupt me constantly. Finally she said she would «have a talk» with Vick, and she promised to «make a note that the person taking my order next time takes more thorough notes.» She then said she couldn’t do anything for me because it was in the owner’s hands. She told me the owner’s name and when I asked her to please repeat it, she said «goodbye!» Worst palace ever. Don’t go here if you want to be treated like a human and if you don’t want someone to steal all your billing information.

1) Got order wrong. Ordered a small Maui wowie, got a pepperoni.
2) responded with «½ off any small pizza on your next order.»
Wow! What a deal! Called back later to order my «½ off pizza», was on hold for 12 minutes. Finally answered, gave me hassle about getting it ½ off. Showed up early and manger was swearing at the employee’s. also making food bare handed and handling cash. Mmm, might wanna wash your hands? I just left with out the pizza. First time, last time. I love Hungry Howies pizza, gotta find a different one to order from.

Great service and great pizza! The workers are always friendly and the pizza is always made correctly and quickly.

Without exception you must avoid this restaurant. There are so many things wrong I don’t even know where to start.
First, the service is terrible! Since the first time I have gone into this place, it has annoyed me so much, but I continued to go back because my wife liked the pizza. The owner treats everyone terribly and doesn’t respect his customers. The food quality is below average even for a Hungry Howie’s and for some reason, and it’s practically the end of the world if you ask for anything to be changed.
Recently we called to order with a brand new advertisement that came out, after ordering the price was just short of a new house. When we asked why, they said that they were only honoring the advertised price on 1 pizza. The ad did not state that at all… needless to say, we did not complete our order.
Also, please BE AWARE… this location practices unsafe and illegal credit card acceptance guidelines. They record information from your driver’s license onto your credit card slip. During a delivery, they tried to write down my entire drivers license number. A huge concern since you have my address, credit card number and then you want my DL number… I think not!
BEST TO AVOID ALL TOGETHER! You’ve been warned!
