The food here was excellent and the décor was very classy. Steak was great, though not quite excellent. The one problem I had was that the waitress, who was otherwise wonderful, was not allowed by her manager to give me a couple of aspirin. I had an unbeliveable, horrible, splitting headache, and it was after 7pm, which meant there were absolutely no open stores on the entire island that might possibly sell such a thing. I understand that they were worried about their insurance, but come on. I’m 30, I was in a lot of pain, and I’d hardly come to Shelter Island to run some kind of insurance scam to have an allergic reaction to aspirin just so I could sue them. I even offered to sign something, but no dice. There’s such a thing as being overly cautious, and I felt this was pretty unreasonable. Aside from that, though, dinner was enjoyable… at least, my headache-free boyfriend said so! :)
