I just love this place! Delicious food and a romantic ambiance with candlelit tables and exposed brick walls. The bar is great, too! Affordable!

Our favorite place. Love the pasta, broccoli rabe, beans and sausage, they give me gluten free pasta when I request it. My husband loves their seafood specials, best martini in the area!!! Great staff

Amici’s has a lot going for it: the food is very good, the portions are sized well and the atmosphere is lively without being too loud. We also were pleasantly surprised to get a table on a Saturday night without reservations. The wait was less than a half hour. The service is friendly but needs to be paced a bit better — we got our appetizer right away but waited too long for salads and entrees. Menu and wine list, particularly wines by the glass, are on the pricey side. We will return.

Went to this restaurant tonight on the recommendation of a friend. The rigatoni Bolognese was delicious. We also shared a beat salad that was large enough for a meal by itself! Next time we are in Shelton, we will definitely stop by for dinner.

Went here on a Saturday night. Nice ambiance, prompt service and reasonable pricing. The birthday girl had lobster fettuccine which she described as having more lobster than she thought possible. We shared the beet salad which had a tasty vinaigrette dressing. I had chicken parmigiana that was cooked just right with a lovely marinara sauce and a small bowl of ziti. I saved half in a doggy bag and it was just as good the next day. Dessert was blueberry sorbet. I will definitely return sometime soon.

Amici’s is becoming a favorite for many reasons. The food is very good, authentic and well prepared, just great«old world Italian cooking». The service is fantastic, attentive, caring, professional on every level. I have an expanding list of options. The kitchen is skilled and willing to adjust to dietary needs. Among my favorites are the Broccoli Rabe, Arugula Salad, Meatballs(my all time favorite), several pasta dishes, and Veal Francaise, and Veal Marsala. The wine list is adequate and priced fairly. I find the waitstaff absolutely fabulous and the atmosphere is charming… worth my hour+ drive when the urge hits me. If you are within a convenient distance, don’t miss Amici’s…just great.

This place was actually very good. Almost want to give it a 4. Definitely teetering on that. Sat in window in bar area and they did a very nice renovation job in there. Great long granite bar. I enjoyed a glass of Super Tuscan red wine. We didn’t love the bread being toasted but the whipped butter was great. House salads with creamy peppercorn dressing was really very very good. Impressive. For entrees we got breaded sole, breaded chicken and vodka penne. Everything was quite enjoyable. If it weren’t in Shelton, which I find very dismal and dreary, I’d return soon.

My go to spot for dinner in Shelton for the past five years and running. The entire staff treats me like family every time I am there. The food speaks for itself. I have never been let down by any of their dishes. They also have a great martini list with bartenders that can really make a great drink.

Tommy, the executive chef, is very unprofessional and rude. Customer service should always be the number one priority at a restaurant and at Amici’s, it is not. On top of that, the food is mediocre at best. If you find a bug in your food, don’t be surprised and don’t expect anyone from the wait staff to care. I mean it happens right? Large disgusting bugs travel in spinach and find their way to peoples plates all the time. I will never eat here again. After all, Crave is only 2 more miles away and it blows this place out of the water.

First of all, it is a beautiful place. Our problem was not knowing what door to walk into, so we walked into the bar not the main dining area. No one in the bar acknowledged us even though it was not busy and plenty of people available. We walked to what seemed liked the sign in station where we were hurried to a table. We had advanced reservations but our host didn’t bother looking for them. The place was hosting several different parties both business and at least one birthday celebration but the place was slow as it was a Wednesday night. The food is good but certainly not great with nice size portions — it is pricey so bring your credit card! The bread was not our favorite but it was warm and there was plenty. Our waiting staff was attentive but our waiter was not the greatest. Our first indication — he never introduced himself. With each thank you we gave him and the staff — no you’re welcome or recognition of the thank you. He may not have meant to be rude but when my husband went to place a coffee order he was reprimanded,“you have to wait until I get the dessert order”. The dessert order was one item — we only had a party of four. My biggest complaint is that we gave the waiter a very generous tip as my husband tipped over 20% on the complete bill versus the bill before taxes. The waiter took the money(credit card receipt) and never came back. We even chatted for a minute or two before leaving giving him plenty of time to return to our table. He never thanked us for our tip, never wished us a good night or asked us to visit again! We had a big bill that came to over $ 200 we left a generous tip — it certainly deserved a simple, «have a pleasant evening». We left the restaurant with no parting words much the same way we walked in. Also, if you are in a hurry — Don’t come here. It took us 2 hours from start to finish on a slow evening. We enjoyed it as it gave us a chance to sit and relax but it may not be for everyone. One last note(and not the fault of the restaurant) — the table of business men must have really been feeling their drinks. One of the men kept repeating a vulgar phrase(using the«F» word plus other expletives) that the entire restaurant must have heard with no reprimand or gentle warning from the staff who laughed as they walked by the table. For that kind of language I could have picked a much less expensive restaurant!

Very nice place, atmosphere, service, and food! I enjoyed my diner a half roster chicken with scalloped potatoes and my girl really liked her dish as well. Portions where generous, servers friendly and food was tasty! Id recommend it to any one in the area looking for a nice Italian diner out.

The servers were very attentive and the food was good. Not great but good. The restaurant was fairly empty on the tuesday night we went but it was still very loud. The acoustics leave alot to be desired. The prices are high. Portion size was average. I do not think we will go back often even though it is less than a mile from home. I will drive farther to get the same quality or better at a more reasonable price. Kudos to the waitstaff for attentive service but boo to the management who sets prices.

We stopped in for a quick lunch while walking around town. The building is beautiful and the staff was polite and very helpful. I just had a salad and bowl of soup but everything was fresh and tasty.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Shelton! I have been here several times and each time the food tastes better and better. I even had my baby shower here! Every dish ordered is amazing and has authentic taste. Service is outstanding. It’s a quiet setting but not really noticeable. EXCELLENTFOOD! Try the lemonchello cake for dessert!!!

Wow! This place is absolutely perfect. Reminds me of the restaurants in Little Italy. Love the ambiance. Upbeat Italian music playing in the background. Service was top notch, wait staff very attentive. Food was served quickly. Food was fresh and scrumptious, from appetizer to dessert. The bar is nicely separated from the dining area and looked busy. This place is now one of my favorites. I will definitely be back to Amici’s!

This was our 2nd trip to Amici’s and won’t be our last. We had a groupon deal. This time we brought grand kids ages 9&10. They we treated just as if they were adults. The bread is warm & brought with olive oil for dipping. We ordered fried calamari for appetizer & surprise-they batter & fry slices of hot peppers with the fish. Tasted wonderful. One appetizer is enough to share between 2 people. We each ordered a different entrée & all were fabulous. Ate too much for dessert. We had 3 waitstaff — all equally professional & pleasant. NOTE: this is not a pizza place. The family at the next table was miffed. They wanted pizza & it was their first time there. This is when you use your PC, tablet, iPhone… to check the menu before your first trip.

While definitely not the best Italian in the state, Amici’s is a very legit spot to get some well-prepared food in a bustling, family-friendly atmosphere. When I was here my uncle, father, and I all had fish dishes. This was my uncle’s fourth time eating here and he had very much enjoyed the pasta in the past. I can attest to the fact that this place was absolutely PACKED on a Friday night and many of the guests were enjoying the pasta with extreme gusto. My dining companions liked their fish special, which was deep-fried and not really my thing. As for me, I had salmon on a bed of eggplant caponata which was definitely way overcooked but yummy, smartly dressed, and well seasoned. The caponata beneath it was delicious. The bread here is also really good and the service was speedy and attentive. Perhaps a little too attentive, I think they asked us if we wanted more wine seriously five or six times after we had said no every single time. Still, for CT this place is very good and has a nice ambiance. I know some people find it difficult to locate parking here but even on a busy Friday night we had no problem finding a nearby space. Anyway, if you are in the area and looking for some solid Italian you can absolutely do worse than Amici’s.

We had an amazing dinner here tonight. I can’t believe that we have waited this long t had a lovely bottle of Sancerre, the seafood cioppino special and lobster fettucini. Portions were humongous… servive impeccable and food incredible. dessert and after dinner coffees were also terrific… We will be back. A great find in the valley. Disappointed to learn that they have opted out of gift certificates, especially since I have purchased quite a few and given to people to encourage them to try Amici’s and must now call to warn them that they are of no value. We never use them there as we feel that the food and service are great, but you might need a «draw» to get people to downtown. Very nice dinner at Amici’s this evening. Pounded veal chop was delicious. Portions are huge…
