I have been visiting center street social for 2 years on and off. By far the best place to go in that area. The food is so-so, sometimes it’s on point and other times it’s horrible. I MUSTSAY the bartenders are the best. I love coming on Friday night to see Nick Lauren and Rae. They are very professional, friendly and funny. One thing stood out in my mind though it was one of my first time in and Nick greeted me with a smile and introduced himself. He treated me like a person not just a customer. I would say center street is a must try place but step up the consistency of the food!!!

Shots for breakfast? Not gonna lie, that is literally what convinced me and my brunch buds to take the hourlong drive out to this place. And the shots did not disappoint. Upon arrival, immediately order the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and/or the Breakfast shot w/Jameson, OJ, and bacon(strip of bacon in your shot glass = you can only win), and get things started off on the right foot. Move onto the bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary’s as soon as you see your server again. Yeah, that’s right — Get drinking before your food arrives. Then all will be well, my friends. In other words, brunch at this place is *seriously* busy, so getting a little tipsy right away is advisable. It’ll lube you up, so to speak, for the wait. Food was pretty good … once it arrived. As for ambiance, though the building’s exterior isn’t much to look at, there’s a great vibe inside. Exposed brick, a bar, outdoor seating, and chalkboards galore. Good stuff. It was worth the trip. Now I just need another(closer) brunch spot to give me shots before noon.

Ok so sometimes after a long day, ya grab some take out, so you can eat some great food while you get comfy at home. That was the plan two times… I did take out here two different times,(within past few months) &BOTH times were very disappointing! Both times, we tried various burgers. BOTH times they were burnt beyond enjoyment, no flavor EXCEPT burnt!!! When I was calling to place our order the 2nd time, I politely explained to the person, we understand sometimes happen, but we’d like to avoid any potential issues(like last visit), & girl assured us she was sorry about last time, then gave the phone to a man(mgr) & he assured us it wouldn’t happen again. He took our orders, told us when it’d be ready for pick up. Which was a reasonable amount of time for things to come out great. Results. …FAILURE!!! BURNTTO A CHARCOALCRISP!!! Very sad. We wanted to think that the first time was a bad day for them, but twice… AFTER being assured it was a mistake & it happens again… leads me to think either they burn everything or they don’t value take out orders??? Either way. .sad, we really wanted to support the local business.

I been been going to Center Street Social for about 5 months now on and off. The one thing I must say stands out the most is how great the food is. To be honest I was not expecting the food to be as great as it is. I mostly go there to hang out with friends, but the few times we have gone for a meal like this past Valentine’s day the food was outstanding. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is a comfortable yet social one. Give it a try sometime, especially if your looking for a new place to go out to eat.

I’ve been here three times, all on a weeknight with a large group. There is a good ambience and décor inside. We came here for some drinks and appetizers, and were seated promptly. With that being said, that was the highlight of the visit. After being seated, I ordered a glass of water and was asked for my ID(?), which I didn’t have because I was neither drinking nor driving. The waitress was very rude and told us that you had to have your ID to enter the building, whether you were drinking or not, which is ridiculous because(A) it is a RESTAURANT and(B) they were not carding people at the door. After some long, drawn out negotiations, the manager agreed to let me stay. I ordered some tacos and sliders, which took over an HOUR to come, and they were cold, like they had just been taken out of the fridge. Other members of my party who ordered long after me were already finished eating, and the waitress did not even apologize for the wait. The water pitcher was also empty at this point, so we asked for another one, which we waited for for another 30 minutes before deciding that we should just leave. Overall very displeased with both the food and the service. Also, they do not split checks.

Ordered two steak bombs and a burger. $ 40. I’ve eaten there before and the steak bombs USED to be excellent. The two steak sandwiches were without a doubt the worst I have ever been served by any establishment. Ever. Dry, missing most of the toppings that were asked for, the bread is clearly old and stale, and the sandwich was smaller than a 6″ from Subway. This is a $ 13 sandwich I’m talking about. Named the«Steak BOMB». It’s pathetic. I called and expressed all of this frustration and to their credit the bartender(Sarah) was very apologetic and did what she could to try and make it right. But when you have 30 mins for lunch going back to get another disgusting sandwich isn’t the solution. Extremely disappointed. I’ll never be back. Management should be embarrassed to let food like that leave its kitchen.

Great night life. Always busy! Great atmosphere. Fun place to be. Great menu! Sunday Brunch is even better! Bottomless Mimosas at a great price. Canoli French Toast is absolutely delicious.

Great staff, atmosphere, music, and food! Went here with my family for Sunday morning brunch… We had a reservation so they sat us immediately. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She was quick on the refills for the bottomless mimosas. The music was loud but fun… happy/upbeat songs. There was a range of age groups in attendance. Ordered the strawberry stuffed French toast — delicious! My mom ordered an omelette and my dad got the lobster benedict — all of us cleaned our plates!

The brunch drinks specials are my favorite about this place, $ 15.00 bottomless Mimosa, Bellini, or Bloody Mary! And you can’t go wrong with the«breakfast shots»(check out the brunch menu). The food has been good as well, we’ve had both breakfast and lunch items and haven’t had a bad meal. Most recently the hubby got a steak and eggs platter and I had a lobster roll. It’s not a huge building so it can get busy, but the wait staff tries to stay on top of things and does a pretty good job.

This place sucks. Last time I was here I had horrible service and food was sub par. This time they didn’t put cheese on my slider than was supposed to have cheese and the bun on another burger was burnt to a crisp. They also forgot two burgers for my friend. What a waste of a great location. Maybe care about the customers first.

Although Center Street Social seems to be the hot spot in Shelton, I will NEVER return to this establishment again. I used to go here regularly, but ever since one particular Friday night I will never return. I went here on a Friday night and I understand that it gets busy there but there is no excuse for the way I was treated. When I went up to the bar to buy a beer, the bartender served two guys before me that showed up to the bar after me and when I tried to say something she said, «That’s what happens when you don’t open a tab.» I thought this was ridiculous and I told her that I had cash to pay for my drink so when she walked away I thought for sure when she came back she would take my order. But instead, when she returned she asked the guy behind me what he wanted to drink. Being a little mad and annoyed I walked away and tried to go to a different part of the bar to ask another bartender for a drink. She followed to where I was and started to whisper to the other bartenders about me. I know this because they were all looking at me as she talked to them. Because I was so confused I am sure that it was showing on my face and bartender proceeded to say, «You can leave if you’re gonna be a b**ch!!» I was so shocked and upset so I went outside to get some fresh air and then when I decided to go back inside the bouncer said to me, «You can’t go back inside. You’ve been cut off.» This shocked me even more. I had only had one beer before this all happened so there was no way I was in any way intoxicated. So basically the bartender refused me service, called me a b**ch, and then kicked me out for absolutely no reason. I think its safe to say I’ll never be returning. They do not deserve another dime from me!

Honestly is zero stars a possibility? I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life until now. WORST service EVER. Hostess took my name and then sat the people after us before us. Special treatment? I think so. Then we sit down. And 25 minutes later after asking for a server, we get no server. So we walk out. Don’t waste your time. Bar 140 is amazing across the street. Fresh and delicious. Go there. Center street you should be out of business in no time.

Yes, it was a Saturday, and yes, there were 7 of us. But the service was 100% attitude and several food orders were wrong. The only reason this place gets 3 stars is for the creative cocktails and the outdoor patio. «No tomato» had tomato all over it. «No cilantro» had cilantro sauce on it(and everything else). And the server gave us attitude when we sat, ordered drinks, ordered food, paid… it wasn’t the best experience. To top it off, while it was a Saturday, the place was practically empty at 5:30 — it didn’t fill up till much later in the night, so there was no real reason for the curt responses, dirty looks, slow food… The patio was great once the heaters were on, and it seemed like a better place to actually chat. The drinks were fairly inventive, and it was a nice place to hang out — as long as you didn’t want anything from the servers.

I went for happy hour yesterday and had a good time. The inside atmosphere was nice. Clean and good age range of customers. Apparently if you go on weekends it gets very crowded. They have good specials like«$ 11 for burger and brew» for lunch and brunch specials with bottomless drinks for $ 15. Staff weren’t very professional. They were perfectly nice but no one had any idea what recommendations to make and were unfamiliar with menu items. Standing around in one group watching the game. I ordered drinks that were very good and two entrees that I split with a friend. Both were awesome. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. I totally recommend. The best part is the outside atmosphere. Heat lamps and jenga make staying outside all night comfortable and fun. Turn off; lack of parking.

This place looks cooler than it really is. I wanted to like this place because I’ve heard good things about it, but the two times I have been there was disappointing. The first time I ordered an omelette, it was one of the worst omelettes I’ve ever had, and couldn’t even finish it. It was supposed to have vegetables inside but was 90% cheese and tomato, the inside was super watery from the tomato, and it was just gross. The 2nd time I went was for $ 2 taco Tuesday during happy hour, which does have good drink prices. The food was again disappointing. I ordered chips and salsa. The chips were stale, and the salsa wasn’t anything special. I then got a pulled pork slider, and chorizo taco. The pulled pork slider was dry and lacked flavor, and the chorizo taco was ok. Overall I wouldn’t go back for food again, but the happy hour drinks were decent.

I moved to CT with my husband a few years ago from San Diego and we were so used to crafty, from scratch, cool concept restaurants and bars. When we moved here we didn’t really find many said places. All we could find were diners and other uniteresting places to go eat at. Finally during the winter we discovered this gem hidden away in the small town of Shelton. which was 2 towns over from us. We have been here quite a few times since and have enjoyed each visit more and more. Brunch is awesome! How can someone not love bottomless bloody Mary’s, mimosas and belinis for $ 15! I’m really picky about my bloody Mary’s and theirs is AMAZING, tastes like a housemade mix that has the perfect spice and kick to it. The cannoli French toast… holy crap!.. Just order it. The lobster bennies were pretty good, but I was expecting a little more lobster meat. Their dinner menu is also good. I’ve had a few items off of the dinner menu and but my absolute favorite is the lobster Mac and cheese. It’s a small meal but it’ll fill ya up! Another thing I love about this place is not only do they have great staff, décor etc but also the ever changing beers on tap. Mmm… beer.

I went here for brunch with friends and it was awesome! Great ambience and outdoor seating with a cute bar. I had the banana foster Belgium waffles and they were to die for. The homefries are great as well. They also offer bottomless mimosas for $ 15. I ordered a peach Bellini and it was amazing. Tips: it opens at 1030 and gets packed quickly! They also don’t serve liquor until 11am.

Had an interesting experience here the other day for dinner. My friend had brought it up the week prior that they have $ 2 tacos and drink specials on Tuesdays, so we decided to go. There isn’t a parking lot which is inconvenient, but apparently you’re supposed to park on some side street or try your luck on the main road. We were seated promptly, but our table was wobbly. Our waitress came over and noticed the wobble, said she would bring a wedge and took our drink order. Our drinks took about 20 or so minutes to arrive, the bartender kept leaving the bar and doing who know’s what. Our waitress apologizes about two times and finally brings them over and take our food order. As our food arrived, a busboy spills my drink when he put my food down. He placed the food in front of me and the table wobbled, spilling almost half of my martini. We demanded a wedge for the table. We figured the waitress forgot, it happens. We ordered tacos, and I’m sad to say it was as if they were just sitting out waiting to be brought over. The cheese on my ground beef tacos was hard and cold. Oh, and the tacos were overstuffed. Extremely messy. Unsatisfied at the end of our meal so we went to another spot. Didn’t want to risk it on more food. :/
