Older Spawn has wanted a bearded dragon for months, so we finally broke down to get him one. They had just moved, so were still setting up, but gave us as much attention as we needed. But this is the real point: the owner knew every little critters’ personality. She made one other customer promise to take care and love the gecko she was buying. She told Older Spawn about each beardie’s story — they all looked the same to me, but she knew. All of them were bright-​eyed, healthy and active. We threw down a bunch for all the supplies, but that’s the nature of lizard-​owning– I can’t tell if the prices are average or not. Older Spawn named his lizard Wolf Eagle, but I call him Stiv Gators.

I went to Critters for the first time yesterday to get feed for my snake since it was the closest shop that catered to reptiles in my general area. I was super surprised to see how clean it was, especially since it’s relatively small and family run. They have a fairly small selection of reptiles, but the amount of care they put into all of their animals’ wellbeing is impeccable. They have a gorgeous selection of fish, and several small pets (a baby hedgehog, some guinea pigs, rodents, stuff like that) for sale as well. They also do nail clipping for dogs and have a few other services that I can’t even remember. I got everything I needed and left with a great impression: D
