As with most Unilocalers reviewing this diner, my experience was the same. Slow service, mediocre food and nobody really seems to care. Showed up on a Monday morning around 9:30, no hostess, about 8 tables seated, and 1 person waiting on tables. Extremely slow and disorganized operation. After about 20 minutes our order was finally taken(written on her hand!). Saw a couple tables get up and walk out due to slowness. Towards the end they finally had another person waiting on tables. With other choices in the area with better food and service, I can assure you I won’t return.

I had gone for lunch the other day had decent service and their food was good. So much better than the old 59 dinner in Cypress. We everything says they are open 24 hours(menu, everything online). So I said next time my husband’s wants breakfast out we will come try it. My daughter was up at 4 am so we decided to go for breakfast but they were not even open! I looked and everything online says 24 hours but they have no hours of operation signs on their doors. It is past 9 an and can not get anyone on the phone. They can not even get their hour of operations correct so I doubt we will be back.

Where to begin. We sat in the diner around 10:00 am on a Saturday. Not very busy. There was a little confusion at the front check-in area. There were two girls arguing where to place my husband and me. This sbould have been my first inkling that this place was not going to be good. We were finally sat down and our waitress greeted us nicely. But then we waited, waited and waited some more. 8 minutes later she comes by and asks what we would like to drink. Another 10 minutes roll by and she comes back to ask what we want to eat. Easy breakfast item. Waffle and French toast. More time rolls by and we finally get our food. My husbands food was ok, but of course my my plate was as cold as it was outside. 2 eggs colder than the plate and bacon tasted like plastic. I asked the server to take off the plate our check because of how cold they were. I know my pregnancy hormones can overreact sometimes, but when my husband touched the eggs and felt how cold they were, we paid for his meal and left. Such a shame because the one off I-10 is great. This place lacks the 59-Diner feel. I feel like I’m stuck in a remodel of a Bennigan’s… oh wait… I am. Won’t come here again. Buyer beware…

Dinner service was very slow. Not enough wait staff although not many diners. It does not have the 50’s feel we were looking for — e.g. instead of chrome napkin dispensers they were the«EasyNap» plastic ones. No 50’s music playing. Once we finally got our food it was good. Burgers were well prepared but fries a bit under-cooked. Kids Mac and cheese was generous and good. Frito pie was pretty good. Big portions with reasonable prices. We likely won’t be back.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. The porkchops and eggs had no flavor and the BLT with egg was not worth the price with 1 piece of bacon and 2 tiny slices of roma tomatoes. Definitely not worth the $$ the money we spent to leave.

Service was great! Very friendly nice host and waitress. Food not so much. They use absolutley no salt or seasoning. My daughter had a kids corndog and the inside was still nearly frozen. The sides are not kept warm they are microwaved i think. Cheap though just dont expect much.

Interesting place. They are going for the retro look but somehow it’s like they are just dipping there toes in the water. If they wanted to plunge right in I would have expected work attires and an atmosphere more closely orienting to the time period they are shooting for. But maybe thinking too deep here. Ok, but your here to eat right. The menu is diner style. Orientated towards breakfast, burgers, chicken fried steak, etc I ordered a waffles, 2 eggs, and bacon. Waffle — just fair in taste. Eggs — cooked ok, but I would say it was one egg not two. Plus they were real eggs not the liquid eggs in a box. Bacon — ok, now(as a guy talking to my fellow guys here) we love bacon. Great bacon can make a meal or it can sink it. The bacon was fair at best. Anyways, for the breakfast above, plus water, I was out the door for under ten bucks, including tip. So, would I come back. Considering some of other places nearby, probably not. Of course all I tried was their breakfast, and, I only saw the breakfast meal from the three others at my table. Bön appetite.

We had an absolutely great experience! We loved the food. Fresh fried chicken… pancakes light and fluffy. I had the California Benedict w fresh avocado on top and house made hollandaise and house made ranch. My daughter and I are pretty picky when it comes to pancakes… theirs are AWESOME! and they come with warmed syrup which is just heaven to me. My hubby had a chicken fried steak with 2 over medium eggs. He inhaled it and loved the sausage gravy on top. Maria was our server and she was fantastic! Give it another try for those who had a bad experience. We ate for a family of 4 for under $ 40 which is also amazing!

I want to begin by saying that the waiter we had was very nice, but poorly trained. We walked up to the 59 diner with great expectations that were immediatly shut down the moment we stepped in. The décor did NOT say 50s diner, it more or less says«this was like 10 things before it became this so we decided to keep the prior decorations». So we ended up getting seated pretty quickly but waited for a good 15 – 20 minutes before we even got offered drinks. The drinks took no time at all its the food that took the longest. For a simple breakfast for 3 people it took 50 minutes, I kept wondering why I didn’t just leave. As for the food, well I got the mingas and it was mediocre. It came out lukewarm and tasted like something I could make as a child. That being said I’d give the food a 2 out of 5. Terrible décor, slow as molasses service, and mediocre food. I will not be coming back. P. s. The bathrooms were dismal, everything was broken and the floor was soaked from a bad leak in the ceiling.

OMG! I’ll never eat their again. Especially not for breakfast. My mom ordered coffee which was served cold with a dirty spoon. Server doesn’t think twice about it. Food comes. I ordered grits and an egg. The grits serving was the size of a side serving. I could never get the eggs and grits to have some flavor, even with the salt shaker tipped over. My mom’s breakfast came to her udercooked. Once food was delivered, we saw the server again when she dropped off the ticket. To sum up my experience– inexperienced waitstaff, no food presetation and flavorless food. Did I say I would very eat there again?

So, being the gluttons for punishment that we are, we opted to dine at 59 Diner-though reviews from a Facebook foodie page had been less than desirable. He ordered the Thursday night special: turkey and dressing. Yet what was brought to our table was some gelatin mass slathered in bright yellow gravy. He’s the type to eat whatever he’s given and not complain. Tonight he basically said, ‘you need to Unilocal about this on your Unilocal thing. This is horrible.’(Although he choked down a few bites and even left our waitress a 30% tip, though she forgot syrup for my pancakes and the sides of tomato and avocado that I had ordered). The bacon on my pancake platter was indeed thin. So thin it almost melted when it touched my tongue. First and last time to go to this 59 Diner. Never have been too impressed with them at other locations but this sealed the deal.

This is the second time we have been to the Woodlands location. The first time was shortly after they opened and even though there were over 10 empty tables and booths, there was a twenty to thirty minute wait. I chalked this up to being new and still working out the bugs. Fast forward a month and we decide to try it again. Guess what? Same problem. Tons of empty seats and yet they still have a 20 – 30 minute wait. Excuses given: not enough menus, not enough silverware, and not enough servers. Anyway you cut it, it’s all bad management. Oh, the food was good, but not enough to overcome the hot wait in the lobby. Oh did I forget to mention that it was 98 degrees outside and almost as hot inside???

So… I went here thinking well it should be a little calmed down because of it not being opening day. It was slower, maybe a lunch rush hit so business. Anyways setting that aside, services was atrocious. My waitress ran to two tables beside me over and over again. And I get it old people talk a bunch and over do time. But it took 20 minutes for any sort of service. And to top it off the greeter had to serve us because we had no one come to our table. Now the food. Honestly I think food from McDonald’s was probably better. So it takes 5 minutes to get there. Is it premade? I hope not, but it probably was. If you want breakfast, it’s not worth it. We had potatoes instead of hashbrowns. Not because we want potatoes but because the cook was like, «eff hashbrowns. I ain’t gonna cook that right.» So he must have just picked those out of the ground or something because they were chewy gross and even looked gross. How one can allow to send that out, no one knows. Soooooo I ordered I hopeful avacado burger. Don’t add anything on unless you plan to meet it in the middle of your burger. Literally everything was placed in centre. Did I ask for that? No. It started getting super chewy like I was eating a dinosaur. Do I know what dinosaurs taste like no, but this came close to the assumption. If I had the choice, I’d give it 1.5 stars as the waitress was 0, the food was .5, and the greeter was 1. But management, he probably threw in his back pocket and won’t look back on it. But he seemed to care, which is hopefull. Maybe in a year, this place will do better.

Save your time, and your money. This is not where you want to eat!!! Service = Terrible Food = Worse Price = not close to quantity or quality expected(quantity in this case was a blessing)

First let me start this off by saying that my fiancé and I were so excited about this place opening. Finally made it over there and it was a huge let down!!! They should have tried to change up the restaurant because other than some paint, it still looks like bennigans. Server would NOT get off her phone and was rude!!! Fiancé ordered the big country’s breakfast– told them biscuits and gravy, they brought the chicken fried steak, forgot the hash browns, only brought 2 eggs not 3. Took 20 minutes to finally get the hash browns and and biscuits and gravy. Had to ask for extra gravy 4 times! Food was cold! I ordered pancakes and a side of fries with ranch. Pancakes were cold, and hard as a rock. I couldn’t even cut them. They forgot my fries and has to ask 2 times when I was going to get them. Milkshake took 20 minutes to get and it wasn’t good. Had to ask for water refills several times before we actually got one! Needless to say this place was extremely disappointing and I will not go back.

Most of the problems I experienced were due to management issues. What I saw was a very young staff, mostly teenagers, trying very hard to figure out what to do with no direction, no oversight, and apparently no training. The waiters have not been trained on the menu. They don’t know what comes with sides(or how many sides), get similar sounding menu items backward, sometimes don’t even know what something is without having to look over your shoulder, read the menu, maybe go ask the kitchen. You get the point. I felt bad for the guys and gals working. If there was a manager, he or she was completely out of sight. They were all working hard, though, constantly apologizing for mistakes that could have been avoided with proper training, and even dealing with a couple of truly rude and nasty tables very professionally. On top of that, they were out of quite a few key ingredients for the lunch and dinner items(the reason one of the aforementioned tables was getting nasty with the waiter). In a very bad sign of early cost cutting, the AC was up at 78 degrees, and the remodel from the Bennigan’s décor consisted mainly of putting light blue paint on the walls. The dark, pub-like environment otherwise remains. It’s … surreal. Anyway, all that aside, the food was not bad. It’s better than the two 800-lb gorillas of the breakfast diners, IHOP and Denny’s, with eggs cooked exactly as requested(which you’d better get the eggs right at a place like this), very good cinnamon bread, and nicely seasoned crispy hash browns. The selections from the dinner side of the menu were all under seasoned, but again, not bad otherwise. Prices are pretty good, too. Not as cheap as I remember from my college days, but what is? I have a feeling that I got lucky, though. With management as poor as we saw, or I guess didn’t see, it’s only a matter of time before the kitchen is an untrained mess, too.

Wish i could give no stars. First thing that i noticed is the hostess had her mouth full of food and chewing the whole time she was taking our name. The diner was half empty and it was a 25 minute wait. Terribly unorganized, staff tripping over each other. The manager went from table to table apologizing. Had to ask for a menu when the waiter finally took our order. Had to ask for cream 3x. Had to get my own silverware and sugar. Food order was wrong, way overt priced, and cold. Waffles were crunchy, gaucho skillet was flavorless and was supposed to have bacon, but didn’t. When we paid for our meal, we got less change back then what we were supposed to. Don’t waste your time or money.
