If I could give zero stars I would. A huge roach crawled along side my table and proceeded up the wall inches from my plate. Ask the manager to remove it which they shrugged it off and left the roach chilling on the wall for the whole restaurant to see. They then Proceeded to drop the check off and expected me to pay for roach invested food and said oh it happens a lot.

When it comes to true Tex-Mex, Chuys is speaking your language! It all started in Austin, TX, and has moved all over Texas and other parts. I’ve been to several, and this is my(newest) hometown Chuys. We love it, our boys love it, who doesn’t love Chuys?! They probably aren’t very nice people and you certainly don’t want to be friends. People eat here for many reasons, but a major one is the creamy jalapeño salsa. It is a must have, and we must have one for each of us. We’ve been going to Chuys for so long, we don’t need menus. I get the Southwest Enchiladas-flat enchiladas with 2⁄3 corn tortillas, shredded chicken, hatch chili sauce, & a fried egg on top. I always get two fried eggs(family tradition). I’ve had the rare occasion where I’ve deviated from it and haven’t been disappointed in any of it. Another favorite is the Elvis Fried Chicken. Just shut up and get it. It’s good. The red salsa is also very good, and usually spicy enough to make my taste buds happy. They have a kids menu that comes with a free ice-cream push pop and they can even have milk for no extra charge. The wait can sometimes be a while, but there is outdoor seating to wait, and even have a server taking drink orders at times while you wait for your table. The décor is funky, as at all Chuys. There is almost always a manager that is walking around checking on the customers. Staff is almost always friendly and attentive. You will not be disappointed. Get there.

The food here was not worth the wait. The rice is tasteless and the refried beans tasted like the came out of a can. The chicken enchiladas according to the menu were supposed to be hand pulled. The chicken came out in large tasteless chunks. I have been going to chuys for almost 30 years. Ever since they sold out to corporate America their quality has gone down hill. It seems like the more locations they open the poorer their quality gets. I will not be returning.

Food was amazing! Went with the Elvis chicken with boom boom sauce and 2 fried eggs based on the waitresses(Sam) recommendation. She said it would be «life changing,» and it was!(Okay, maybe not life changing but freaking fantastic! Also, Sam was the coolest waitress I have ever had. I will definitely be back just to sit in her section! Just AWESOME!

Loved it! From the salsa and fresh, warm, thin chips to our entrees. Our server Tony was very good as well.

Favorite Tex-Mex place. Chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas and Elvis fried chicken are my favorite. Also, their margaritas are awesome

Will not be returning. Service was horrible after we sat down we waited 15 minuets for a server to come and get our drink order, after she returned with our cokes she disappeared for another 15 minuets when she came back she then got our appetizer order and food order. We Waited 30 minuets then decided enough was enough. We left money on the table for our cokes and we left. Worst. Service. Ever!!!

I absolutely love Chuys! The service is always great and the food is even better! Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4 – 7 and you get free chips and salsa/queso. You have to try the jalepeno ranch sauce! I would seriously take a gallon jug home with me if they would allow it.

I’m a regular customer at Chuy’s(like twice a week regular). My family is always seated in a reasonable time. The waiters and waitresses are all so friendly and it’s obvious they like working there. The absolute best dish is the Elvis Fried Chicken with Boom Boom Sauce. Another great dish is the Chika Chika Boom Boom. Also, mixing the Jalepeno Ranch with the Hatch Green Chili is great for dipping chips in and pouring all over any meal! The only thing I advise against is their tea. For some reason it usually tastes like it’s been sitting to long. It’s kind of hit or miss.

This was my first time eating here. It was very crowded so I anticipated a bit of a wait. Our waiter got our drinks and chips & salsa right away. Long story short, the food took over 30 minutes to make it to our table. Our waiter apologized, without prompting. My food had a really fresh and wonderful flavor to it but the rice and beans were cold. I chalked it up to being busy. The manager stopped by and apologized for the wait and told us they wanted us to have a great experience and was comping our meal. I am very happy that this establishment recognizes their mistake and takes great care of their customers. Will be back.

We came around 4pm on a Sunday and were seated promptly. We sat at the table for maybe 5 – 10 minutes without our server coming to greet us /take drink orders, so we caught the attention of a server(Hayden) working the area we were seated in. He immediately apologized and took our orders, then went and informed his manager who offered us free queso and dessert. He was very attentive the entire time we were eating, frequently refilled our beverages(that he didn’t charge us for), and even packed our to go boxes /drinks. In my experience, typically this type of service doesn’t come unless you are assertive or complain excessively. It’s great that we were treated so well when we obviously weren’t upset about the wait. Off the record, I’m pretty sure Hayden would have given us foot massages if we had asked. Just kidding, but really great service all around.

I dream about this place — Jalepeno ranch dressing is truly what good dreams are made of. Whenever I am in Texas I make it a priority to visit Chuy’s for some tacos and jalepeno ranch dressing. This place is a no frills Tex-Mex chain that can be found in Houston and Austin, and I am just truly in love with it.

Let me start off by saying that I had worked at this location from 2011 – 2014. I had also worked at two previous tex-mex beforehand. I have to say that some of these reviewers have no clue what they are talking about and have probably never been a server before. Most of these one star reviews should be ignored. That being said, I have honestly never worked at any restaurant(I’ve been a server for about 8 years) that uses as fresh of ingredients that chuys does. I think the only thing frozen in the entire building is like kids French fries and ice cream. The cooks come in early everyday and start prepping for the lunch rush. Fresh veggies and meat. For the shredded chicken they literally cook a few whole chickens in the oven and they hand pick the meat off the bird. Can’t get much better than that. All tortillas are handmade. The chicken breasts and skirt steaks are marinaded every day. I’m just sayin it’s fresh stuff. As for the«terrible service», I mean yeah that can happen anywhere. I know a lot of the people mentioned in these reviews and I know how hard a lot of them work. To come on Unilocal and be rude like that is messed up. Servers are people too ya know. As for the long waits, don’t come on a Friday or Saturday night with ten people expecting to be sat immediately. Common sense. The creamy jalapeño sauce? Yes, I do have the recipe :)

I went to Chuy’s about 9 years ago and it was fair so we never went back. Well, the wife, kids and I gave it a second shot and we are glad we did. It was very good and the Green chilies enchiladas were good. We will head back in a shorter time period than 9 years :)

Our department came for a goodbye lunch for a coworker who’s taking her vocational ventures elsewhere. So we had a group of 11, and they were able to seat us after a few minutes. The nice waitress came, got our drink order and gave us plenty of chips with salsa and their wonderful Jalapeño Ranch. It took a while, but we were finally able to put our lunch order in. Granted, waiting on a table of 11 with all individual checks isn’t the easiest, but our food took 30 minutes to come out. They came in batches(I guess to make it faster?), but the first group got their food 10 – 15 minutes before the last group of people got their food(including me, who had their soup). In fact, the person whose honor we were there for still had to wait 5 more minutes after the last group to finally get her food. The food is delicious. Chuy’s has one of the best tortilla chicken soups I’ve ever had, IMO. But it just took SO long. A simple lunch(granted, again, with a big group) took an hour and a half. Anyway, if we come here again, it’ll definitely be with a smaller group. And I will definitely eat less chips!

My first try at the flavor that is Tex-Mex and did I ever set my standards high being a California bred and born girl, having the luxury of MexiCali eats on every corner! Chuy’s did not disappoint! CREAMYJALAPEÑOSAUCE. What is this magic?! I could have eaten just chips and this saucy goodness the entire time and left one happy lady! But I didn’t. Because chips aren’t real food! Ordered up the Chika Chika Boom Boom because a) that name is too awesome to not want to say it out loud to the waitress and b) by the description it sounded like something I’ve never had before. It was a type of enchilada but bathed in a sauce that sounded unfamiliar to me! It was creamy, almost like Alfredo sauce, but appropriately spicy! Strawberry margarita was a refreshing drink! Only thing I didn’t dig about the eating experience was that some of the chips were waxy, like they’d been over greased over something! They were not crisp or crunchy, but soft and not capable of being chewed. Boo to that! This place had a cool interior and feel! Felt and looked very Catina-ish!
