After lunch at Casa Vega my friend and I decided to take a little stroll down Ventura Blvd and happened upon this place. I always love going through the stacks at used book stores so I wanted to take a quick gander. It’s not very big but it seemed well-organized and the books were in good shape. Consequently, you’re not going to find the really cheapie used books(there were some sale carts out front), but I did find a gently used copy of «Room» that was a few bucks off full price. The lady at the front was really nice and chatted with me for a bit about the book while she rang me up. The place had a good, pleasant vibe – I’d definitely visit again the next time I’m in the area. STEPHJUDGEMENT: Smallish used book store that’s still great for browsing.

I ordered a book online that was supposed to be hardback but it was a softcover. As soon as Lisa realized the error, she owned it, apologized and gave me a generous discount. She shipped it immediately and it arrived in tip top shape. Her customer service and the quality of the book make this an amazing resource for hard to find books.

I could spend hours at this quaint second hand book store… Lisa helped me find an author and suggested other books from that author that might interest me and were actually very hard to come by. There are places to sit and read to your heart’s content. A real find.

The owner is very kind and helpful, I ended up leaving with 5 or 6 books and she even knocked down the price because I didn’t have the last few bucks to pay for them. I will for sure be coming back here when I finish reading what I bought.

In June of 2012 I purchased a used book«Soteriology» 3rd edition, 1919 by Msgr. Joseph Pohle, PhD, not realizing this was from a Roman Catholic perspective, from«Books On The Boulevard» in Sherman Oaks, CA and upon taking a look inside I found that this was from the library of Charles Weinig dated Sept 17, 1919. Charles was the son of John(Johann) and Rosina(Witt) Weinig, German immigrants. Just a little info on him he was born Sep 221894 and died Dec 1944. He came from a family of which three of the four sons were Catholic priests the only one who wasn’t was John Martin Weinig. Charles became the parish priest after succeeding his brother Francis Xavier Weinig as the pastor of St Josephs parish in St Genevieve County MO. Upon discovering the identity of Charles I immediately obtained information of the parish and created a family tree for him at to see if I could find any living relatives that would like to have the book. I have surmised the book ended up in California via his brother Albert Joseph Weinig who died in Riverside, California in 1956. I eventually sent the book to St Josephs with the instructions if any relatives of Father Weinig come to claim the book. Hopefully one of the relatives has claimed the book of their dear relative.

I have been wanting to visit this shop for months now and finally went in last week. I was expecting to be in and out in ten minutes, but ended up sprawled on the floor at this gem for hours trying to narrow down my pile of finds. I collect coffee table books as well as antique lit and I was extremely impressed with the curated selection Lisa has. She is also extremely helpful! I will definitely be making a regular visit to this store. I ended up with two Freuds, a Sinatra coffee table book, a beautiful Michelangelo one and this incredibly old and detailed huge Vanity Fair. This place is a must visit if you are okay with doing a little bit of digging! THANKYOULISA!

Recently wandered into the shop on my way to Spin Class. Lisa the Owner is terrific — has been in the same location for twenty years and very knowledgeable. I have been back three times ! I collect books and she had what I have been looking for! I would love to get lost in here on a rainy day … Best regards and good reading ! Dalia L.

This is a great little bookstore right off Ventura Blvd. A cozy place to get lost for a few hours on a Saturday morning. Lisa, the owner is super nice and helpful. I was excited to find a large children’s book section as well! I’ll be coming back! Thanks Lisa!

My friends and I walk here as often as we can. The owner is so sweet and helpful, even telling us to bring in our reading lists so that she could carry those books. The selection is great with unique out of print books from the early 1900s to young adult novels from the past year. Definitely check this store out!

What an amazing book shop! They have such a wonderful collection of books including out of print treasures, rare finds, vintage and antique, modern, cookbooks, spiritual, religious, art, photography, you name it!!! Lisa the owner is so knowledgeable and helpful and just a sweetheart! If I had to name one problem with this gem of a shop, it would be that I can’t afford to buy all the books I want at once! Lol seriously GO!

Fantastic book store I found after I started a new job in the area. Liz is extremely helpful and accommodating with all of my silly questions. There is also a large selection of rare and antique books that are near impossible to find(Carl Jung). New favorite place

This bookstore is awesome. Just a heads up, all the books are old and mostly out of print.

My best friend told me about a great little bookshop on Ventura that would have a nice, thoughtful gift. So I went here last month looking for a book for a birthday gift and this store had it! So many cool & vintage classics can be found here. A must see for a book lover. Plus, the owner was extremely helpful in giving me ideas on what to get. Overall experience: A+
