Don’t be deterred! They accepts cards as long as your order is $ 10. Which, if it’s not you’re doing it wrong. Tacos are meant to be shared with friends. My boyfriend and I eat at Cactus probably twice a week, and that’s just outings where we go hand in hand(it’s walking distance). He probably eats there 4 – 5 times a week if I were to guess. The burritos are the best thing on the menu. I’m a bean & cheese fan and he loves the carne asada. ADDCHEESEANDAVOCADO. It’s always worth it. Also, this staff is super quick with orders and are always the best with service.

This place is in my neighborhood, but I’ve never been. Finally went in and tried the burrito. It was REALLY good. No wonder this place has a steady crowd. The nachos on the side left much to be desired, they were a little too crisp and ZERO salt. The girl at the cash register wasn’t that helpful. I look forward to trying their other locations and items on the menu.

Parking is decent. I used to come to this venue before it got bought out by Cactus Taqueria. The remodel is amazingly fresh. I love coming in for my carne asada tacos and a cup of orchata. If I need to veg and get away from the hot sun, it’s always nice to patronize cause the a/c is up to par. And you can always grab a cold beer while watching a game on the tele.

Great location on Woodman and Moorpark, great prices. Not a lot of parking and it gets very bright and sunny inside because of all the windows. But the chorizo breakfast burritos are bomb. $ 5.75 for a big delicious burrito. The lengua tacos are my favorite though. They have beer and it’s never a long wait. Compared to the other locations, i love sitting inside! :)

Love the food but hate the bad customer service they have. Specially Stephanie the cashier. She has a bad attitude.

Ordered some kind of vegetarian bowl– awful and bland. Not much in it other than iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and yellow cheese over retried beans. No Cotija cheese or grilled veggies. No salsa bar with a good selection of flavors. Vegetarians would be better advised to order the meatless options at Baja Fresh or Chipotle.

I really don’t understand the negative reviews… a lot of them seem miffed about service. Service? Seriously? This is a slightly upgraded taco stand — what kind of SERVICE are you expecting??? You want a host to take you to the standing table and give you a menu while taking your drink orders? Unbelievable. Look, I almost didn’t come because of all the bad reviews, but I am really glad I did. The food was delicious and priced well. I got a carnitas taco & a lengua, both w/cheese. They were awesome. My girlfriend got a carne asada and a vegetarian taco and she loved them both. We tried another Mexican place the next night, La Fogata, which has much higher reviews but unfortunately, the flavor of the tacos was nowhere near what they were at Cactus. Oh, and I almost forgot. We were in a huge hurry and were worried about how long they might take. The cashier quoted us 5 min, but they came out in 2. To me, that’s awesome service, but most importantly they tasted amazing and I was very satisfied w/them, AND the value. Forget these 1-star whine reviews, this place is great.

Should have read the reviews before I came here. This place is horrible. Why is it so hard to find a good taco place in Studio City. I got a very basic carne burrito, to go, which is very hard to mess up. I asked for some chips in my to go bag, and the lady told me it cost $ 1.64 extra, for chips. Really? The burrito wasn’t even worth the six dollars and you can’t even give me some chips. Very not authentic. Will never come back

Big fan of cactus for over a decade & randomly found this location driving thru valley! I had only known the vine & Beverly spots previously. I ordered a couple al pastor tacos(THEJAM!), wife ordered 2 veggie tacos & we got a couple beers. I don’t think the other locations serve beer. Al pastor tacos hit the spot & wife said her veggie tacos were good. Outdoor patio allows dogs(as well as other locations) so extra points there. Also they accept credit cards here as the other locations I think still only accept cash.

First off. I waited for 10 minutes to order because they couldn’t get someone’s change right. Then when I came up I got the worst attitude from the supposed owner of that location. When I received my food, the first thing I noticed is that there was absolutely nothing with it. Just a plane Greasy quasadilla in a box with meet that looked like it came from last week’s freezer. I went to ask for some sour cream but they wanted to charge me 2 dollars extra. What the fuck? As I took a bite into the quasadilla I immediately felt sick. The cheese felt like plastic and the beef was burned to a crisp. The taste that it left in my mouth was outrageous. This isn’t even the first time this shit happened, the same bullshit was served with their burrito. Long story short, fuck this place. A bunch of bitchy chollas that don’t even know how to make Mexican food, count money, or even provide any kind of customer service. The actual owner should take a long hard look at this place and make some drastic changes.

I am vegetarian and went here with my dad who’s not. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito with spicy sauce and he ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito without spicy sauce. They thought it would be a good idea to completely screw up the order and give me a chorizo burrito with spicy sauce that they said was vegetarian and give my dad a vegetarian burrito without spicy sauce that was labeled, «chorizo.» Worst place to get food. At least for breakfast

I had high hopes for this place because it’s a bit difficult to find a good burrito in Sherman oaks. But this place was an absolute disappointment. I arrived and stood in line. There was a couple of people in front of me and the cashier stood in the back kitchen talking and laughing with other staff. He Looked back outside to the line and didn’t bother to take our orders. A customer had to grab his attention for him to walk over and take their order. When it was my time to order, I was not greeted, the guy seemed bothered that I was even ordering or that he was doing me some sort of favor in taking my order, I ordered a beef burrito. Didn’t offer me a drink and proceeded to tell me my total. I had to tell him I wanted a drink. The guy was rude and no manners what so ever. No thank you or nothing. Burrito was horrible, very greasy. Bottom half of my burrito was soaked in grease. Stay away from this place. To the owner. I suggest hiring staff that has some customer service experience and get rid of your snobby staff that makes your customers feel as if they are doing is a favor taking our order.

You’ve seen the name of one of the 4 other locations in the valley, all touting that they have the«best taco in ___________», I remember when this Cactus took over for the former mexican joint and the day before they opened on the side of the building they had already painted«best tacos in Sherman Oaks», not even open and everyone in Sherman Oaks loved them. If you’re as skeptical as I am about«best» anything you’ll know that eventually you’ll want to try«the best» and expect«the best». For me I ordered the asada taco(apparently no ground beef) and a lengua ie tounge, taco. When handing the cashier my card he mentioned«your order has to be over $ 5 to use a cc»… aha! so you’ve passed my first test: no taco should cost more than $ 2. So I kindly ordered an extra asada taco. While waiting I took a stroll along their short albeit varied salsa bar, which should be in the middle of the restaurant or accessible by more than one person at a time, what is this a soda machine? It was kinda annoying that people waiting for the to go food were standing there, people who were indecisive about their salsa preferences were there, kids who like to cough and touch things were there… so I looked from afar and opted out of the sauces. After a quick 5 minutes my 3 tacos were done. Verdict — good, not amazing, but good. Much more solid than other«tacos» you see south of the 101 north of mulholland area. So I give this a 4 star. In the words of cut throat kitchen: it reminds me of a taco, it tastes like a taco, and it looks like a taco. So for a 4 star taco, I’d stop by here again. Enjoy.

We ordered a few things on the menu just to check the place out. The food was ok; I’ve definitely had better. The pricing was a bit more than nearby taquerias(the ones with the better food.) The doors were left open which made it almost unbearable to sit inside; way too hot & humid. Not a lot of seating, but we lucked out and found a table with just enough space to have a stroller tucked in the corner. Parking was atrocious; small, awkward lot. I don’t know that we’ll be back to this one in particular, but we’re intrigued enough to try another Cactus Taqueria in the future.

If I could give negative stars i would. Like everyone else in the valley, I was extremely excited for this location. It’s a 10 minute walk from my apartment and it’s Cactus! I waited, excited for the opening. Visit 1 and I was disappointed. The service was not so great and it was cash only. The ATM has a fee. I had hoped that it was just because they were new. The registers clearly can take cards. I ordered my food. While I waited staff from the kitchen were dipping radishes from the salsa bar into the salsa. Gross, but it’s Cactus! When I got my own food it was such a let down. It was flavorless and the meat was not up to Cactus standard. Big let down. Visit 2. Even though I was less than happy with my first visit, I had hoped it was just because this location was new. I walked down there with a friend of mine. She is lactose intolerant, so she ordered everything dairy free. I had to use the ATM and pay the fee again so I was annoyed. When she got her food it was covered in cheese and sour cream. Not cool. So we waited. I wasn’t thrilled with my food again. We took our food to go because it took a while to get. Final Visit 3. Third times a charm… or not. I walk in thinking that they’ve been open for a while so really should have their act together. Nope. There are poorly handwritten signs all over informing you of the ATM/Cash policy. There was a sign on a scrap of paper advertising a special. The service was awful. There was a man who clearly had some mental handicap. The girls were so rude to him! No sensitivity training what so ever. He asked one of the girls for help and she brushed him off before going in the kitchen and talking about him. The cashier comes and takes our order. I ordered a carne asada burrito and my boyfriend ordered a shrimp burrito. We waited at a table with a broken stool for our food. We had gotten it to go. A customer in front of us had ordered 2 orders of chips and guacamole. She gave him one, and then scoffed when he pointed out her mistake. We get our burritos with horchatas. No chips(they apparently don’t have a clear policy on this), and headed home. One burrito is clearly labeled shrimp. I have a sea food allergy. It makes me vomit, so I’m always really careful about it. So I eat the burrito not labeled shrimp. I’m a few bites in when I notice a weird gray mass inside the body of the burrito. I pull it out and show it to my boyfriend. He had no idea what it was(I posted a picture of it). I thought it was just old carne asada and I was disgusted. Then things got worse. I was finishing the bite i had taken pre-gray mass and ITWASTHESHRIMPBURRITTO!!! Again I have an allergy so I started to get sick. I went to return the food. The same rude servers were less than pleased to help me. The girl couldn’t identify what the gray stuff was, and absolutely did not care that they had mislabeled the burritos. She was slow to refund and made a point to let me know I still had to pay for my horchatas. Definitely will never be back. I’m now trying to decide if it is the seafood allergy making me sick or the mysterious gray mass.

I have been going to the original location in Hollywood for over a decade, and I am so happy they moved to the 818, yes they have a smaller stand a few blocks away but no beer and TV. I have only been in this location a couple of times and ordered the asada tacos one time and loved them. Next time I ordered the pastor taco and the pollo taco, both very good! Excited to try the breakfast!

I miss Mannys. Sure, they failed to attract any customers but the family that ran it knew how to make a burrito! The food here was ok, bit more expensive then Mannys. The décor never felt better. I got the al pastor burrito with everything on it. There was only meat and rice on it :(apparently it cost like a dollar extra to put cheese on it and it’s cash only? Hmmm. The chips seemed stale. They were not toasted at all which is a shame but at least like Mannys they did not charge you extra. Salsas, they give out ounce cups. This is not sufficient at all. I just slapped it in my plate. I would never carry out from here! Probably not returning here. Kind of wanted to see how they compared to Mannys which I ranked highly. Oh well!
