Had breakfast at Corkys yesterday. Food was lacking in flavor and quantity. Over priced for what we ordered. With so many other restaurants in the area i will never, ever return to this restaurant. Should of gone to Four n 20 instead.

Just your average local diner. Food is good. I had the Cobb salad. Nothing special but not bad. Wait staff friendly but not very attentive. Empty coffee cup sat at the end of the table for 15 minutes before I finally had to waive the server down. a bit pricey for the food and the service. the locals seemed to enjoy it though, it was pretty busy.

Good ol’ fashioned diner. Food is good. there is a patio that faces Van Nuys. There is rarely ever a line. There is a bar tucked away in a corner of the restaurant. My BF and I have visited the bar on Karaōke night and it was pretty fun. Very eclectic crowd but fun nonetheless. We never wiped the grins off our face. The karaōke wasn’t pretentious and over the top. It was good ol’ drunk ballad buddy crowd participation karaōke.

Last year I spent NYE at Cork Lounge and had the best time. The place was packed! This year we go on NYE to eat some dinner and then stay for the evening. They let us know that they are closing at 8:00 pm and you can’t order any food past 7:30 pm. It was like they were in a rush to get us out. I probably come here 5 – 7 times a month to eat or to the lounge with family and friends. Who closes the place down at 8:00 pm on NYE when you were open every year prior? I didn’t even see one sign that they were doing that this year. Luckily we had other places to go but they could have been more cordial about it. We ordered fast and got out. I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.

BROASTEDCHICKEN(n no, that’s not a typo). They offer it under their«dinners» and if you’re asking yourself WTF that is, you’re not alone. It’s basically delicious FRIEDCHX from a special Van Nuys pressure cooker. I’d never heard of it & I’m full grown. It’s the best fried chicken on the earth, in the valley, on this street. The skin is super crispy & the meat is really juicy — it’s f’n GOOD. My friend & I both got it and I’m guessing the table had to be vacuumed after we left. #broastedchicken

A good little diner, with excellent staff. Spent some time here waiting for my car as it was being worked on. Had the vegetarian Benedict, huge portion size. A fair place to eat with great staff.

I love this place. Great home cooked feeling food for a great price. I miss when they put beets in their house salad but other than that it’s consistently delicious. One of my favorite restaurants.

I recently found this diner… it is reminiscent of a 60s diner… and has a great friendly team… plus it has free wifi and I can plug in my laptop! It is a fun place for coffee andd a snack or wholesome meal!

This review is for the Cork Lounge. I agree with other reviewers, niiiiiice folks. Decent menu for the lounge area, happy hour specials and can even order items from the dining area menu. Karaōke was fun… the band is fantastic. Small though… won’t be able to fit too many if you go with a group 10 or more. Decent song selection played by a live band while you sing from the sheet music on the stage vs. a monitor with the words streaming. Seats were a bit worn… so I guess since opening, it’s been a busy place. Off street parking, a plus too.

So let’s be clear: if you are looking for haute cuisine, look elsewhere. That is not what Corky’s offers, nor even pretends to do so. Corky’s is where you go to grab a bite when you don’t know what you want, but you know that is needs to be just a plain old good meal. I’m a sucker for the chili size and the club sandwich, because long life must not be a major concern for me(inner monologue, sorry). But the discerning qualities are as follows: 1) Super friendly, professional staff. Allow me to explain. You know how you go to a super fancy joint where all of the servers use their«spa» voice that makes your wallet get cramps when you walk in the door, and then proceed to describe dishes while you nod along thinking«WTF are those ingredients?» Well, that doesn’t happen at Corky’s. They talk to you like you come every week, even if it’s your first time. If you ask for a recommendation, you will get an honest opinion that will be different depending on the server(e.g. «Which is better, the tuna melt or the patty melt?») 2) Good cakes and pies. If you are a fan of Sweet Lady Jane(and if you are not, you should really reconsider your sanity), you are not going to find that here. Instead, imagine if you asked your mom to make you a chocolate cake and she started with a basic recipe but then«did her thing» and made it that kind of delicious that only a mom(or abuela) can do. That’s what you get here. 3) Good coffee(not great). For fans of «City Slickers,» I refer you to Cookie’s comment: «It’s brown, it’s hot, and there is plenty of it.» And with a slice of cake or pie a la mode, it hits the spot. So if you are a fancy pants, a nancy boy, a foodie, or some other form of pretentious affectation, go elsewhere. But if you want a good meal where you can sit and talk to your friends and be part of the community(keep the damn phone in your pocket. It can wait), then this is the place for you. And if we are there at the same time, I’ll spot you for the cup-o-joe(cause that’s how I roll).

Absolutely fantastic! Any Diner-goer worth their weight will feel right at home here. Food and service are perfect everytime. Biscuits and gravey with big chunks of bacon in it… what, what??? Bar, lounge, café, and coffee shop all included. Corkys must be supported by the community! …almost forgot to mention. BILLYJOEL used to play the piano here… just sayin, get in here everyone! !

I had a two star rating up before until they complained to help about me writing the review meant for door dash… No my review was meant for the them! Door dash is a great company and my driver even waited at the restaurant and had them fix my food that they fucked up! So yea corkys… You thought I wouldn’t come back and fix what you tried to delete! They served me burnt and hard biscuits! So hard I couldn’t bite into them! And that is not my deliever u applications fault! That is the restaurants fault! Original review is below! The food is delicious… The service is shit… I have ordered them a few times… I love their biscuits and gravy… But I should learn my lesson. They continue to prepare my food like an hour before my delivery driver will even be there to pick it up and they just leave it sitting there! Yesterday the food they brought me was so hard I could even bite into it… Then they refused to send out another order to me. So door dash refund my money minus the delivery charge… And I just ordered it again and it was delivered fresh the second time because I told the driver to make sure first… Today my driver arrives and tells me the food has been sitting there for an hour again! I called the restaurant myself and insist that they make me a fresh order. I’m still left upset because my food should of been here by now as well as my delivery driver is probably pissed that he isn’t taking another order right now and making more money. I will however though be tipping him more now. If you want corky’s I suggest going to the actual restaurant… Unless you like cold hard food.

Great little lounge off Van Nuys. Drinks are served well, and food was good. I haven’t had such a good Ruben in ages. Live music and nice classic atmosphere makes this a win!

Corkys is becoming one of my favorite coffee shops. When they are not filming a commercial or TV show you can get a table right away, they also have a great counter. It looks like a 60’s studio design for a coffee shop, which I love. Today I went with the half sandwich and salad. Comes with a side as well. I got the potato salad and it was very good. I got the BLT on sourdough and it was made well, good mix of everything. The Salad was basic, but I like basic. Good Ice Tea too. Service was okay this time, but I don’t expect much at 2pm on a Tuesday. They were friendly and refilled my Ice teas. Thanks Corky’s, I’ll be back.

Glacial service, incorrect orders, pancakes brought to table and we had to *ask* for butter and syrup, servers and runners playing the blame game… and after it all, only passable-but-not-notable food. We live nearby and often think, «hey, we should try Corky’s again,» pining for a local and convenient non-chain diner. Unfortunately, our experience always feels like the above. I want to love the retro ambience, but it’s really all that the place has right now.

This is a diner, and a vintage one at that. The space is roomy, well decorated, lit, equipped with ample seating and a bar, has great service, hot tasty coffee, and serve up a dam good breakfast sandwich! There is also tons on the menu, a full blown bar in the back with events every night and homemade looking pies in the front. What brought me in today, however, is that I have seen this place in movies more and more and had to try it for my self. Its also a block or two away from my Kung Fu School on Van Nuys Blvd. so I drive by it everyday. I can’t wait to come back for one of their bar nights and to give their booze and fried chicken a try.

I came here and ordered a chicken Alfredo pasta and when I got was about 15 ounces of grease that lose from my plate I attached a few pictures of the disgustingness that they call chicken Alfredo I recommend eating here but not ordering the chicken Alfredo and in the event you do tell them please hold the oil! The gracious manager came by and saw how bad it was and gave me ONEWHILEDOLLAROFF!!’ WOW That makes up for eating enough grease to run a semi truck and wait/eat separately from everyone !!
