We went there for Father’s day and the price was too expensive for the food they had to offer.

HORRIBLE service, will never be back. Bus boy didn’t clear the table, waiter failed to check on the table and refill our drinks.

Came here for the second time and I’m still leaving impressed. Great food, reasonable prices, and great friendly service.
From the bar to the kitchen and to my table everything was amazing. Our server Naomi was very helpful and was there attending all our needs with a very nice attitude. I’ll be making sure to request here next time we come in

I love the food here, everything is delicious and their drinks are amazing. I love having not only lunches here but also meeting my friends for dinner, some drinks. it’s a excellent choice for any occasion. Everyone is always very friendly and the servers are excellent specially Maria & Marisol by far the best waitresses ever!!! Definitely recommend you visit, I been here 100x or more and it’s never been a bad experience.

Yuck! What a terrible experience. Where do I even start. The waiter took our drink and two appetizer order, table-​side guacamole and buffalo wings. He brought three of the four drinks and came back to make the table-​side guacamole before brining the smoothie (that was strawberry-​banana juice poured over ice) much later. After sitting there for OVER 20 minutes I had to ask the waiter to come to the table because we would like to place our dinner order. At this point he tells me «the restaurant has no drums for the buffalo wings, well maybe one or two drums» He said he didn’t place the order because of that. So, I had to call him over to place our dinner order to find this out apparently. Sitting for 20 minutes waiting for something that wasn’t coming is fine at El Torito I guess. The tables on both sides of our table ordered fajitas as did we. Theirs were lit on fire and given to them when the fire subsided. Our fajitas were brought out barely warm at all, and with the wrong sides. My daughters «kids burger» came out cold and slimy (disgusting looking). I told the waiter about the smoothie and burger so he took them. He brought a new smoothie but the wrong flavor completely. At this point I asked for a manager. here’s where it gets really ridiculous. The «manager» Wendy Ulloa comes over with an attitude from the start, like she couldn’t be bothered with me. I tried explaining what was happening, that we had been there for an hour and a half and just got our food that wasn’t even warm. That my daughters burger was slimy and cold, but she cut me off mid sentence. This manager «Wendy» said she saw the burger, they’re reheating it, and rolled her eyes. I told her about the strawberry-​banana smoothie being juice and she said «No, We Do Not make ANY drinks that are banana» like she was talking to a five year old. I told her again, and she repeated the same thing to me. I had to show her the kids menu that says «strawberry-​banana» to make her stop saying they don’t make a s-​b smoothie! Then she said we must have asked for the wrong drink. WHAT!!! I told her that the waiter said they only had two drums for the wings so he didn’t place the order. She said «I don’t know why he would say that, we have plenty of drums. Maybe he was just busy». I tried to tell her about the fajitas and the wrong sides, but again she cut me off and said «I already know about the fajitas and they’re warming those up again too». Now, my mom has already started eating her food that also had the wrong sides. They brought back the REHEATED burger that we had touched because it wasn’t warm and looked gross. Next they brought back the same fajitas that they just warmed up, with the same sides that were put into little cups that had beans all over the inside sides if the cup. It looked like they used the same cup from the ranchero beans, and threw refried beans in it instead. However, now those were cold too. Meanwhile I had finished my soda that I had to share with my daughter because the smoothie they brought back to her was a gross blended lemonade drink and not the smoothie she asked for. So we ate without anything else to drink. The manager Wendy came back over to let me know she would take off only my daughters kids meal burger from the bill. But if we wanted a dessert she would let us have one. SERIOUSLY? The waiter brought the bill and apologized. then he commented that the GM is much better at dealing with people than Wendy is. That she’s very cold and rude with people. The ending of this night, we’re leaving and the valet charges us $ 5 to park in the parking lot in front of E.T. That we could have parked ourselves. but he blocked all the spaces so we had to have him park our car literally 5 feet in front of us. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. THAT MANAGER HAS NO BUSINESS DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS. There are too many other places to go and have dinner than to have a rude manager treat you like she’s doing you a favor by barely listening to your nonsense, and giving you back food that came out disgusting. I wish I could score this place a negative star. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant and we eat out quite a bit. At least three times a week… and I have never had such an egocentric manager address food concerns in such a disturbing way. I can’t imagine the health department would think that’s a proper way to serve food either…

At this El Torito there is always a place for me and my family no matter how busy they are. we always order the burritos with Shredded beef and the Mexican Caesar salad. It is so tasty and juicy. and our servers are always nice and remember our special order.

This location is by far the best, food is fantastic & the service from Gamaliel was outstanding! Corporate if you are reading this, from a retail manager’s eyes, you have a gem in your hands. More than an applause is necessary for this associate. Will be coming soon and only to this location. I’m very impressed.

Would like to share that we had a large party, about 30 ppl. We absolutely had the best server anyone could ask for! VICTOR knows exactly what was expected. He was polite, and patient. His vocabulary consisted of (no problem, of course, don’t worry, and I’ll be glad to)!! El Torito definitely needs to keep him and have him TRAIN others! ! Good job Victor! Even had a special burrito made for me, that wasnt on the menu!

Literally the BEST service you can ask for. I have dined at this location over 50 times, and every waiter/​waitress has done their job phenomenally.
The manager of the restaurant is just as strong of a worker, whenever their was an issue it was resolved correctly and efficiently, I admire that a lot.
The food here, however is either hit or miss. Sometimes things come overcooked, sometimes undercooked. The «No Bull Nachos» which I order almost every time I’m here are also either very very good or just ok. I think it depends on which chef is working at the time, but I usually dine here around lunch time. (11:30−12:30) For this reason I can’t give this place 5 stars.

I have never seen such great service in a restaurant they are so attentive on your needs, I didn’t even have to ask for a refill and that’s a bonus. Now the food was amazingly good and the environment is beautiful. I’d defently coming back here its just amazingly good !

I go to Sherman Oaks El Torito whenever I am looking for good Mexican food and the most important and amazing person there is Amanda,
She is so nice, polite and awesome. She has a nice smile on her face even when she is very busy and running. Thanks to Amanda.
By the way not all the waiters are friendly there.

As we’re all aware, as of say…, Denny’s, IHOP, TGI Friday’s or any of the various other franchise establishments delegated towards food consumption… if you’ve visited one El Torito location, for the most part,…you’ve visited them ALL!
What truly makes a place stand out amid their counterparts let alone any such competition would hands down be the: CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Located on Ventura withn the gorgeous valley-​esque town of Sherman Oaks, sits this particular ‘branch’ of El Torito, that I had the pleasure of visiting just yesterday for H/​H — Taco Tewz’day.
Festive, vivacious and affordable are all adjectives that come to mind as upon sauntering in for salsa and chip salvation, we were greeted w/​o delay by our server and the margaritas just kept uh-​coming! I was too toasted when leaving to recall our server’s name however it should go without stating that this chica’ did the dayum thing!!!
To further it and let’s be real for a second, but: WHO CAN BEAT $ 1.25 TACOS + $ 5.00 MARGIES’???
Lawd’ have mercy.
This liquid libation –LITERALLY– had me on my back yet due to the affordable fares, I didn’t relapse and go into cardiac arrest upon regaining consciousness… to view any such unnecessary exorbitant cost.
Circulating carnitas, asada and pollo all the while furnishing fish tacos w/​an array of salsa varieties for one to select from (w/​all of the trimmings: i.e.: cilantro, onions and cotija (cheese)) w/​in a gi’normous bar area, complete with mounted flat screens —– this place has, for the most part, covered –ALL– bases.
4 margaritas and 8 tacos for 2 people, were no mas’ than $ 30.00; the price I’d typically have spent on myself as is.
Be this as it may^, my humble recommendation is downing a few Tums post meal consumption and prior to departing.
NOTE: It’s the day after and despite yesterday’s experience being noteworthy, I woke up w/​a rumble in the jungle and it’s no secret that my booty is about to have an attitude. O_​_​o

If you can’t find parking in their lot go park across the street north bound and walk over. There is plenty of parking. It was save you tons of headache

I ordered a tostada, in the menu it was mentioned that it was supposed to have jack cheese, I got a flat shell and just a salad with chicken. Told the waiter and he looked at me like «who cares».
I ate way better at Pollo Loco. I’m not picky about food but for sure if I pay for something, I expect that something. I work across the street, they will never see me again.

I come to this location the most as it’s the closest to where I live. If you want everything to go smooth with great service and no mistakes Amanda is the server you wanna request.
Not only is she super sweet but she’s very much on top of things. It doesn’t matter if I’m there with friends or family, I ALWAYS try requesting a table in her section. And everybody that’s been there with me has loved her just as much as I do!
She takes great care of all her customers.

The Service: Awesome service! Super attentive. We have a holiday party there, over 50 people. They split check for everyone! Save us a lot of headache so we order MORE drinks! Cheers~
The Food: HAPPY HOUR till 7pm! $ 3 off on majority of appetizers.
The Parking: Plaza parking… but might be challenged during dinner time. They also have valet parking.

You know, it’s not really necessary to make EVERYTHING spicy… just FYI
it took nearly an hour for us to get our food… we had already filled up on the greasy chips…
when the food finally came out it was all spicy! to some extent… some more than others but all of it had some level of heat to it… I’m talking about the SALAD was spicy! the soup was spicy! Come on! A bit of warning would have been nice!
The margaritas are weak and not very tasty…
overall, nothing worth repeating

I recently moved to the valley, so this became the closest El torino to me. I used to go to the one in the marina… and long story short: go to that one of you want your El torino fix.
I went with my brother and sister. We walked in, and the manager and seating hostess completely ignored us for a couple of min before acknowledging our presence. We were then seated, but it took a while before a waiter came to take our drink order. The drinks were good. I got a Cadillac Margarita and my sister got the melon margarita.
I ordered the street tacos plate, which was prepared well. My sister got the combination plate with the cheese enchilada and crispy taco. Overvall, the food was good but the service sucked.
