The Crabby Crab

My family has dined at the Crabby Crab since they opened. One thing that never changes is the consistency of how great yet fresh the food is. Not to mention the awesome service we received from Kelly with NBA championships and a restaurant completely packed her keeping up and staying on top of our table was never a problem. We will definitely return and will make sure we sit in Kelly’s section if possible. Highly recommended.

Sooo good. Fun to watch the family get covered in shells and butter, while getting ever last piece of crab meat!

The food was great. The Cajun sauce was amazing. Definitely get the king crab legs and shrimp. Our server, Kelly, made it easy. She was very sweet and helpful. Will definitely go back.

This place is awesome! We tried the snow crab, head off shrimp, weekend gumbo, and used the Unilocal free dessert! Everything was so delicious, our waitress was very nice, and we were seated right away. My only advice is if you’re getting the «crabby crab» spices or the garlic seasoning: WEAR GLOVES. My hands did reek of garlic for two days despite washing them like a thousand times. lol. Besides that DEF recommend it!

Yum! Had dinner here last night. Crab, shrimp, clam strips, and cocktails. Everything was really good & fresh. Nice servers, clean environment. I especially liked the big sink to wash up. Not having to go into the bathroom was nice. Will be back.

Six months ago we moved to Sherman Oaks, about a mile north of Crabby Crab. We pass it virtually everyday and, as seafood lovers, always say to each other, «damn, we need to check that place out already.» Well we finally did… and I have to say, if you like seafood, this is the BEST food you’ll find in the valley.
King crab in extra spicy sauce was absolutely unbelievable. It took me back to happy memories of Memorial Day weekends back when I lived on the East Coast… getting heapings of crab at Waterman’s in Ocean City MD, and the like. My wife and I couldn’t stop talking about how well SEASONED the crab here was. So FRESH as well. Next time, we’re going to order a pound each instead of one to split. Also: do yourself a favor and get a clam chowder. We’ve never had chowder so good.
The only thing that I want to know about is when are their specials that some Unilocalers are talking about? 2 for 1 shrimp Wednesday? Count me in for EVERY Wednesday! Tuesday special? Wish I’d known to ask. Based on our King crab experience (and I do mean experience!) I’m sure that they do snow crab and shrimp right here as well! Please message me and fill me in. We just moved to the area and have eaten here three times already– brought our families one time and they loved it too! We LOVE the king crab and. Snow crab, the shrimp is just okay. My fiancé ordered the lobster too which he liked, but still thought the crab was better. Service can be a little slow sometimes, but they get very busy. Overall we really enjoy this place and will be back!

King crab was amazing! Colbie was our server she was amazing too! I’ve been to other places like this and this is by far the best!

I love that EVERYONE is just so nice. I’m not a «seafood lover» but they always go out of the way to get my belly full! Love love love!

3^rd time here in less than a month. Great service, great food, will be back soon enough! Their Cajun rub is on point, always OMG on the spice level! Their waitresses have always been on point and their fish bowl. One and enough! Haha! Love this place!

Let me start off by saying that the food was fantastic, tasty and my stomach is making noises as I think back to it. If it wasn’t for the awful service this place would’ve earned 5 stars!
Having said that, after being seated it took the waiter a significant amount of time to take our orders. The runner brought us our food and we had no utensils and hadn’t even gotten our drinks yet. Two of us actually had to get up to get someone’s attention just to get some utensils and water. The rest of the drinks eventually showed up 20+ minutes later. Granted they were busy since it was on the weekend, but they had plenty of staff on hand. My suggestion, put some disposable silverware at each of the tables along with napkins. We had to hunt down the waiter again for the check, all in all the 2 hour experience consisted of an hour of waiting on service.
On to more positive things, the food was great! We had two pounds of shrimp (mild) which were so delicious! We tried the gumbo as well as the market catch which was swordfish… both very tasty. If you are in the mood for some seafood with a cajun touch, definitely go here… I’m sure service is not that bad on a day to day basis, we probably just had an isolated incident.

This place is nice. Staff is friendly. I have been here twice. So far we have had good services. The food is really well prepared and good. There mixed drinks are good. I got a buzz off of the first one. The prices are reasonable. The only thing I don’t like is you get messly but is all okay there they have bids and lots of napkins.

Truthfully I find this place slightly better than Boiling Crab. The flavors were much stronger and the shrimp were huge and much cheaper per pound. Not only that there were TV’s everywhere playing the Warriors game. We went today for the Bogo Wednesday meal (but 1 pound get another pound free) and I do not regret it. I’ll most likely be back next week before May ends.

The Tuesday special was a great deal: 1 lb king crab, 1 lb snow crab, and 1 lb shrimp (peeled optional) was $ 50!
For six people, we ordered two of those and a side of lemon pepper fries, sweet potato fries, and clam strips. Free dessert with check in worth $ 5. We opted for the chocolate bundt cake and it came out hot and with whip on top. It was perfect for each of us to take a few bites.
Taste wise, I would stick the crabby flavor over the garlic butter. And overall, compared to boiling crab, boiling crab is still better but this is a close second if you’re in this area looking for something similar, ESP on a Tuesday ;)

Food was awesome… garlic shrimp. lobster… good flavor and service. Music was a good playlist too… so much garlic… burp. We’ll be back… oh had the oysters and bacon shrimp too… burp. :)

Just come inside for a nice treat. The staff is AMAZING and so friendly. They literally love to work at this place and makes you feel comfortable. You don’t necessarily have to buy pounded seafood they also have great deals on appetizers and their happy hour is FANTASTIC!
Short review but worth the experience.

Fresh made king crab cakes, cole slaw, and an ice cold Michelleda! I’m in heaven on Van Nuys Blvd!

If you like Boiling Crab, then you would like Crabby Crab. It is less crowded and the restaurant is very clean and well run.
The food was delicious. We had the shrimp with potatoes in Cajun sauce with a side of rice. I could probably have eaten a bag to myself. It was that good!
The service was great. Our server checked on us constantly and refilled our drinks at least 3 times. We will definitely come back to Crabby Crab.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should check out Crabby Crab. My cousin, who is like my little brother, suggested this place for family dinner. I expected it to be like your standard seafood in a bag situation. Surprisingly, it set itself apart very quickly.
Get the cajun fries. They are not like your everyday cajun fries, there is minced garlic on top and you will be ready to fight vampires and keep unwanted suitors at bay. So worth it!
Get the baguette. I scoffed at getting bread just because why would I pay $ 3 for a little loaf of bread? It was worth it. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, PERFECT for soaking up the sauce.
What makes this sauce different from what you may be used to is that it is BUTTERY. You definitely taste the butter which can get overpowering, but I’m not one to complain about too much butter. The spicy was manageable, but we grew up on spicy foods.
The service was super nice and accommodating, there was no wait on a Friday night, the place was super clean, you can get booze, and there is a small parking lot in the back.

First time coming here and I loved the experience, the food and the long island. Thanks Trent!
First off if you like SPICY FOOD that make you hiss the best way to go about it is ordering both spices «Spicy & OMG» to give that extra kick in your taste buds.
My bestie and I both ordered 1 lb of shrimp each. Spicy & OMG cajun flavor for me and just OMG for her. 2 steamed rice. 2 corn on the cobs for me and mini potato for her bag. We also ordered the Sangria but its the peach kind not the raspberry kind so I didn’t like it but she did.
The table beside me didn’t specify which kind of Pinot wine they wanted to the server came w/​grigio and they wanted noir. I took it and it was delicious. Also, the bartender gave us a long island because another table ordered 2 but decided to just get 1 so we got that as well.
I again really enjoyed my time and I will be coming back because all the servers, bartender, and manager was really kind to us and attended our needs. Thank you!
