Vena Vascular is fabulous. If I could give Dr. Melkonyan and his staff ten stars, I would! All of the 5 star reviews are completely true. I was more than impressed with Dr. Melkonyan, who is an excellent doctor with perfect results and a wonderful «bedside manner.» In addition to his top-​notch medical skills, he is kind, caring, considerate and informative. He did exactly what he said he would, and I am so thrilled with the results that I would recommend him anytime to anyone. Everyone at Vena Vascular is professional, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. They made appointments at times that were convenient for me and they were always on time, almost unheard of at any other medical facility, and even if I arrived early, I didn’t have to wait. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Melkonyan and his staff. Don’t even think of going anywhere else. You will be more than glad you chose Vena Vascular!

To begin I want to clarify that I was the biggest skeptic for doing any oblations to treat open wounds. My mother has had open sores near the interior portion of both ankle since she gave birth to me 23 years ago. We’ve been to countless specialists and doctors. All we’ve ever heard is unnaboot and elevation. They’ve always said that oblations do not work and it’s just a way to make money. My mother cannot stop raving about Vahe Melkonyan. Vahe and his team are a prime example of how a healthcare facility should be operated. Everyone is so knowledgable and professional. Vahe even went to the lengths of calling in favors from friends that are vascular professionals to come look at my mother’s case. He is an amazing person that truly cares about his patients.
Now about the operation… Vahe did an oblations on my mother right leg and the open wound are slowly starting to close. My mother still wraps her legs with unnaboot. She is now scheduled to get the left leg done and couldn’t be happier.

First of all, I agree wholeheartedly with all the wonderful things the other reviewers have said about Dr. Melkonyan and his excellent staff. My experiences with him and his practice have been among the most positive experiences I have ever had in a physician’s office. Since my pregnancies several years ago, I had developed unsightly spider veins and varicose veins on both my legs, making me feel very self-​conscious when wearing shorts, skirts or bathing suits. A few years ago I went to one of those «Medi-​Spa» places that advertise on billboards and in glossy brochures, featuring gorgeous models that are supposed to represent the results of the work they do. They offered a «free consultation» to examine me and offer a course of treatment. The consultation was indeed free; however, the fee they quoted to remove my spider and varicose veins was around $ 8,000! Also, they never suggested that any of it might be covered by my insurance. Even though the veins on my legs continued to bother me, I could not justify spending that much money for something that I felt was essentially cosmetic. So one summer after another rolled by as I continued to cover up my legs, until a friend mentioned that this type of procedure, for varicose veins, sometimes can be covered by health insurance. So, I decided to give it another go, and went online to try to find a reputable doctor who could help me. That is how I found Dr. Melkonyan, by reading these wonderful reviews about him on Unilocal.I was so impressed with the reviews that I made an appointment right away. When I met with him, he told me right up front that he could not guarantee that the insurance would cover the procedures, but that he thought it would cover at least part of the cost. If my insurance did not cover it, he told me the maximum amount I would be charged me for each treatment (and he explained that I might need two or three treatments in all). The amount he quoted was extremely reasonable. I couldn’t believe how much less it was than the amount I was quoted years earlier by the fancy «Medi-​Spa» place. I have had two treatments and my legs look SO much better. I am so happy with them that I am wearing shorts and dresses all the time now! In addition to giving such great results, Dr. Melkonyan is also very personable and pleasant to talk to. Sometimes doctors can be condescending or they lack good bedside manner — either they just aren’t empathetic or they think being a great doctor is enough — but Dr. Melkonyan is the whole package. He is an excellent physician, and he is also caring, warm, and funny. You feel very safe and well taken care of in his highly competent hands. Also, as other reviewers pointed out, everyone in the office, from the tech assistants to the lovely front desk ladies, are incredibly nice, friendly and courteous. I highly, highly recommend this medical practice!

My grandmother Victoria Arakelyan has been going to Dr. Melkonian for 3 years, and she couldn’t be happier. He is very courteous, kind and caring, and has a very professional staff, very friendly and inviting. He goes the extra mile to make sure his patients are beyond satisfied. His procedures helped my grandmother, whom was suffering from issues with her veins, and now the veins have almost disappeared. My grandmother was very pleased with her continued experience and would recommend to her friends and community. Her greatest takeaway is that Dr. Melkonian truly cared for his patients, and would like other doctors to take example of him.

I was so impressed with the service I received at this facility that I had to take the time to write this review. If you have those ugly spider veins on your legs that prevent you from wearing shorts or skirts in the summer, stay away from the Medi Spas and call Vena Vasular now. The office staff was attentive and polite. The doctor was professional, courteous and very thorough. They tell you the cost up front and as a seasoned veteran of sclerotherapy, the price is very fair for the amount of time the doctor spends on your veins. I actually couldn’t believe how much time and care he put into making sure I was satisfied. I hate spider veins but I know they can be removed and I know they do sometimes come back. I’m glad I found Dr. Melkonian because he is the only doctor that will be treating my veins in the future. I have a follow up appointment in a month and I’ll let you know how it goes.

I went to Vena Vascular Lab and they took care to me and my varicose veins very professionally! Their staff is incredible and they provide the best customer service. Dr. Vahe Melkonian knows very well what he is doing and he has a lot of expertise in his field.

Dr. Melkonyan is the best. His hands are magic. I’m very impressed with my outcomes and highly recommend him to everyone. Don’t waste your time or money on other Mickey Mouse doctors or laser centers and go directly to the best…

This Doc is AMAZING!!! my mom is overweight and had problems with her legs constantly being in pain. Her Primary Doc referred her to Dr. Melkonyan and this guy did wonders for my Mom. I cant thank him enough. I think she had 4 procedures done with him for her veins and she feels so much better. I strongly recommend him. Very courteous and professional office also.

Dr. Melkonyan is professional, thorough and sensitive to the needs of his patients. I came in with pain in my legs due to varicose veins. He explained the process of laser surgery to take care of the pain. He also explained the process it would take to get approval from my insurance to cover the costs. After 3 months wearing compression stockings, then another 3 months of 5 laser surgeries & follow up visits, I am almost done — and just need a few more follow up visits.
The process was more involved than I expected, but Vena Vascular handled every detail with care and good communication. Dr. Melkonyan LISTENS, which is very rare in doctors these days. And he not only listens, but addressed my questions and concerns with options and solutions that worked for me. (I have a low tolerance for pain and he took measures to make the procedures as comfortable as possible for me. And I tend to freak out at needles, but he was always very patient and understanding — and was great at distracting me!) His staff is professional, accommodating and friendly. EVERYONE in the office knows what he/​she is doing, and they do their job with smiles on their faces. And when I say everyone, I mean the sweet women at reception, the physicians assistants /​ultrasound technicians, the driver who picks you up… even their billing service was helpful when I needed information regarding my insurance /​co-​payment.
They also runs a tight ship — I have been in at least 12 times the last 6 months, and not once did I wait over 20 minutes; in fact I usually went in within 5 – 10 minutes of my apt time — which is important to me since I take time off from work and always show up on time.
I trust Dr. Melkonyan and think he is a great doctor with a terrific staff.

We had several treatments with Dr. Vahe I have a medical background and I went to several specialists but dr Vahe melkonian is the best with his outstanding quality work and Professional staff this is the only office that you will never wait more then 5 min to be called, great customer service with everyone that works here 5 stars is not enough for him and his great team.

As a Chef I’m on my feet many hours each day and knew the time would come when I would need the routine chef’s treatment for the dreaded ‘varicose veins’. After years of nightly pain in my legs I began to research treatments options. The recommendations of friends, Md’s and on-​line research led me to Vena Vascular, Dr. Melkonyan has some of the highest recommendations and ratings in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
My first visit to Dr. Melkonyan included an extensive hour long exam using ultrasound, I was very impressed with the thoroughness and the professional, caring manner of the staff. Treatment options were carefully explained along with a workable treatment plan. Dr. Melkonyan’s office called within a few day to let me know my insurance would cover the procedures, a very nice surprise!
Procedures have been relaxed, painless and with only occasional, mild discomfort as would be expected with any procedure. I have friends who have had similar procedures and many comment on the pain, I was expecting pain, but there has been none. This is clearly the result of Dr. Melkonyan’s expert technique, calming manner and friendly, well trained staff.
After the very first treatments I began sleeping throughout the night with no leg pain for the first time in years, it’s amazing what a good nights sleep feels like!
I have one more treatment, but so far the results have far exceeded my expectations, my legs look and feel fabulous! One more surprise with Dr. Melkonyan, he’s on time for appointments, unheard of in Los Angeles
