Beautiful setting. Nice outdoor patio to enjoy the view and the wines. $ 15 tasting fee for 4 wines, still seems pricey to me, but I guess thats where things are going.

As a wine trail frequenter, & Chicago native I’ve narrowed down what I look for on any given day of wine tasting. From Traverse City, Santa Barbara, Niagara Falls, when cruising a wine trail I look for a vineyard with low traffic, good wine, peaceful landscape, and most importantly a friendly dog. Alloro was the single vineyard in Willamette Valley that best met those requirements. You can do the tourist thing and visit every ‘big name’ winery that everyone & their mother goes to(& alot of big ones here won’t even pour glasses, just tastings). Wait in a long line for a tasting with someone who is so removed from the actual winemaking process you’d be better off pouring yourself. Or you can go to a spot like Alloro and get a much more personal experience with the same, if not better craft. During my trip to Alloro we only managed to make it through two glasses of the Riesling and a bottle of the Rose of PInot. Both were great, as were many other wines at many other vineyards we visited. However, what you get here is the seclusion from the crowd, the gorgeous landscape, personality, and the Lab you can play fetch with while you drink. If you’re visiting Oregon wine country, grab a bottle at this place. You won’t regret it.

This winery has several high reviews. However, I can’t rant or rave about my own personal experience. The wine was mediocre. Our group opted for the wine tasting for $ 15. We were lucky to get a half a swallow. No spit bucket or rinse of our glass, or even offered a new glass. The property is beautiful.(Although, multiple times I had to swat away yellow jackets) The dog was a bit intrusive and distracting. And the host for that day didn’t appear to be too excited that she was there… Or for that matter that we were either. Won’t be going back here anytime soon.

I just visited this lovely vineyard yesterday with my husband and one other couple. The gentleman in the tasting room was knowledgeable, friendly, and the wine was delicious. We ended up buying a glass of the 2011 reservata and sitting on the patio. We chatted with the owner and strolled the acres of vines. All in all a lovely visit, we will definitely be back!

The best feature here was the chocolate lab retriever: Abby! She was very sweet, warm and welcoming, I really liked her. The wines here were fine, nothing that I couldn’t do without out(I didn’t buy any wines to take home for later). The prices of the wines are a little bit more on the spendy side, and not so approachable, but they were fairly reasonable. There was a wine tour bus that pulled up right when we were finishing up, so it got really busy, but we still had plenty of attention from the staff. It’s a quaint little tasting room in the kitchen/dining room. And, overall, it looks like they are a «Green» facility, they didn’t use paper towels in the bathroom, they used fabric-towels to be washed and reused. I would go back if I was wine tasting in the neighborhood, to see ABBY!!! Such a sweet pup.

This was my third visit to Alloro and they never disappoint. Expect a small Italian style villa with a homey atmosphere. The tasting room is right in a kitchen beside an inviting fireplace, large wood table and their friendly dog Abby. It’s a cozy spot with some of the best wines I’ve had. The staff is friendly and informative and the tasting fees range from $ 10-$ 15. Honestly I’d go straight for a bottle to split. They have several good Pinot Noir’s, as is common for the region, and their whites aren’t bad either. Outside is gorgeous but beware of the random stray cat who is highly friendly but has killer claws :) We love taking friends here because it’s a little out of the way with high quality wines.

Great outdoor space. Loved playing with Abby, the labrador retriever. This was our first stop and a pleasant one, but not as knowledgeable about the area and wines as I would have hoped. Love to have had a visit with the owner possibly. Wines are okay here, nothing to shout about but drinkable.

Decided to check out a few wineries close to home; wineries we’ve not been to for whatever reason. We started with Alloro. What a find! Peaceful, serene. A bit of Tuscany right in our backyard. The personable, knowledgeable tasting room manager encourages wondering about the property, sitting in the sun, relaxation. She keeps an eye out for an opportunity to pour your next taste. The wines are average plus. However, the location and the tasting room manger pushes this establishment up to 4 stars. I did buy one bottle of an everyday wine we’ll drink our deck on a sunny day. Normally, I don’t care for Rieslings(or whites in general), but this one was crisp and clean — and most importantly, not too sweet. Tastings are $ 10.00 a piece. Next time, we’ll bring a picnic and some Northwest beer for my husband. Beautiful.

Beautiful place. Like being in Tuscany. Really. The wine is good but spendy. Check it out.

Alloro was our introduction to Willamette Valley. After a busy week, an injury to our dog that almost canceled our trip and rush hour traffic through Portland, the villa almost seemed like arriving at home: chill winds tempered by a glowing fire throwing smoke into the tasting room reminiscent of an old château in Europe, a big friendly dog who grabbed a stick for me to throw for her, an equally friendly tasting room hostess knowledgeable about the wines who obviously loves her job, and some tasty wines, we were hooked. We started dreaming of a return trip in the summer where we could wander through the vineyard and drink a bottle on the patio. I think the winemaker/owner wandered through and said hello, too. I really can’t recommend a specific wine since everyone has a different palate and it depends on what you are looking for, but just one tip — if you hate dessert wine, try the Vino Nettare. It might change your mind!

Really worth the visit! The scenery in this area is wonderful, and then spectacular when you make it to Alloro. Very friendly staff, in an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. You“re welcome to wander around, even into the vineyard. The tasting room/house is right next door to the vintner’s own house, Lovely!

My wife and I went on a wine tasting vacation in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. My wife is a big fan of pinot noir and this region is famous for that. After tasting, touring and eating(when offered) at several wineries, Alloro Vineyards was our hands down favorite. Beautiful Tuscan Villa grounds, ultra friendly staff(not the normal experience we encountered) and most of all excellent Pinot Noir. We had a great time, played with their dog, took photos… just a wonderful experience. We highly recommend Alloro Vineyards as a «must see» in the Sherwood, OR., area.

Alloro Vineyard is a beautiful winery with a delightful property and delicious wines. The service was excellent, and while we were sitting outside in their fabulous outdoor area enjoying the sun, they even brought our next tasting out to us. It was wonderful to spend an hour or so here at Alloro, and wish we could have stayed longer!

We stumbled upon this vineyard on the way to another vineyard. I“n delighted that we made the right hand turn to get off of hwy. 99W. The winding road brought us into wine country. This smaller scale operation feels like visiting your Uncle Guido’s family vineyard. The tasting room is cozy and there is a porch to sit out and enjoy your tasting. Nancy who is there on Sunday is a great hostess. When you want a little walk, the path leads down to pristine Willamette Valley orchard. A nice place for an artist to sit and have a drawing session. Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did.

What a fabulous little spot! They have a very nice dry Riesling and their ’10 Pinot Noir is well worth the drive. They have a small tasting room on a gorgeous vineyard with a wonderful dogs and sheep all around. When just visited at the beginning of February and they had several baby lamb just a couple weeks old! Adorable! Not sure if we spent more time with the baby lambs or the wine. The service here is great, this tasting room is comfortable, kinda like relaxing in someone’s kitchen enjoying a bottle of wine. Service is warm and hospitable, wine is great! In the summer that patio would be very tempting as they have a great view too. I’ll definitely be back!

mmmmmmmm Loved it here. Dogs, wine, and scenery. What else can I want? The service was great. The location is perfect. It’s not much of a drive. Pretty close to Beaverton. It’s nestled in a beautiful location with really great trees. The building is gorgeous. There are two dogs that meet and greet you. I LOVE a winery dog. The wine is pretty tasty too.

Gorgeous winery and vineyard. Excellent pinot noir wines, kinda pricey but worth taking home at least one bottle to savor later. On a sunny day, it’s easy to imagine that you’re in Italy, gazing past tall cypress trees toward incredible vistas. Alloro’s tasting room is cozy and noncommercial, a place where you can learn about some of Oregon’s best wines and then step outside to enjoy a glass of pinot on the terrace.

Le sigh — I was back in Tuscany. After wandering the rolling hills of the Willamette Valley, following the signs for Alloro — we arrived at a villa! I mean a real villa like the one I stayed in outside Sienna. It was memorial day wine tasting weekend, chacuteri, homemade truffles on Italian pottery plates, a dog named Luca after my favorite Italian town and pinot and rose. We sat near the fire(ok it was almost June in OR) and sat outside overlooking the vineyard taking in the view. A bit of Tuscany in Oregon!
