Love love loved this place… If ardiri had a sister, this place would be her. With the close proximity to the city of Sherwood and the absolutely beautiful plot of land they have, we will absolutely return for their warn/kind staff and their delicious wines. They were also very helpful in providing us with a wine book and made suggestions on where else to go.

Be careful of doing business here. After six weeks and a confirmed date in June 2016, we were told they didn’t want to do a dinner, that they thought the weekend would be too busy. Shame on them, as we go back again to find a location to host a dinner.

Came here on a weekend getaway to Portland, and so glad to have found this fantastic winery in Sherwood. We had a nice time tasting the wines and talking to Dan, who really knows his wine and was a very welcoming. Every one of the wines we tasted was superb. There was a good mix of estate grown varietals and wines produced from out-of-state grapes. The tasting room, the vines, and the surrounding area are immaculate and inviting. I really can’t say enough good things about Hawks View.

The location is very pretty, nice outdoor patio. We didn’t really enjoy any of the wines though and the tasting fee of $ 15 still seems expensive to me. I was disappointed as I read the reviews about the white pinot noir and I was really looking forward to trying that, but it isn’t on their tasting menu any more. It was very noisy inside which made it difficult to sit and have a glass of wine and conversation. It is really too bad, because it was very pretty… just way too loud.

This was our first stop in Oregon and had such a fun and relaxing time. The winery has great a great environment situated on a hill overlooking the valley. The staff is very hospitable and friendly. The winery has great Pinot Noir and red wines and an amazing White Pinot. This was a great find and one I can’t wait to come back to. They are even kid friendly and have food trucks serving the winery with fun weekend events.

This place is great! Beautiful view and very tasty wine. We have taken our 2 year old son and some friends and had a wonderful time. Great service and they are dog friendly too.

What EXCEPTIONAL service! Very classy! The vino was simply delicious. Our group enjoyed their bold and big Shiraz. We bought a bottle! Family friendly. Great outdoor seating. BEAUTIFUL views. This is what a local winery should be like!

Overall, their wines are ok but way over priced. There are far better Oregon Pinot noirs at a much lower price point. The winery is attractive, but again, many other wineries that are easier to get to and far more impressive.

4 of us visited the Hawks View tasting room today. We were all blown away by the quality wines and the great hospitality shown us by Dan and the staff. This is the one and only wine club we have joined in many years of travel and tasting.

Not huge on wine, so I have very little to say about that. The space was not as big as Ponzi and not as nice of a view, however this is a pretty normal looking winery to me(as in I think they are all still very nice). Half of the seating was inside, half was out. Both very nice. We stayed chatting for a lot longer after closing and the staff were super nice and was just cleaning up without kicking us out, and rather told us to stay as long as we wanted. Free crackers! Either I was hungry or something, but they were good!

One of my favorite vineyards in oregon. I can’t speak highly enough about the staff and their hospitality. They take the time to tell you about each individual wine and where/how it is grown. Makes the experience that much better! Not to mention they give you large pours of wine for the tastings. My favorite wine is the la baleine and white pinot noir. Join the wine club it is most definitely worth it! Wines are well priced and taste MUCH better than some of the more expensive vineyards around the area. My favorite for sure!

Glad I stopped in!!! Love that it is in Sherwood as well. View: 5 stars Great view of the hills, a local ranch, Mt. Hood, and the vineyard. Have great outdoor amenities that allow you to enjoy your wine outdoors with a picnic.(Corn hole anyone?) Wine: 5 stars Wonderful wines. Had a white Pinot Noir that was amazing as well as some great reds. The wines they poured didn’t have a weakness.(They also give you a great pour.) Price: 4 stars The wines were between 30 – 50.00 average. Tasting was 15.00-this is refunded with a 2 bottle purchase(the tasting pours we got made the 15.00 worth it.) The wine club has significant discounts that made me sign up for it. Overall…this vineyard is not one to miss out on. The tasting room is gorgeous and the grounds inviting. Bring a picnic up and enjoy some great wine and people.

One of my favorite stops in the Willamette Valley. This was our first stop with Oregon Select Wine tours. We had a private tasting with AJ. When we got there it was just my wife and I. AJ made us feel right at home. I knew I was in the right place. The tasting room is very modern looking that has great views(hence the name… well not sure that is the reason… but that it what I think of). When outside you look towards all the vineyards and Mt. Hood. Really amazing. We had a tasting consisting of 6 wines. We started off with the Hawks View Pinot Gris and followed it up with the Chardonnary. Both whites are were really good(I will save you the wine reviews). We then went into the Pinot Noir from Oregon. We followed that up with some Washington state Merlot. The wine here is really good, showing off the terroir of Oregon and Washington state. In addition the wines are moderately priced. The winery and tasting room are very clean and inviting, with a small fireplace in the ‘lounge area’ that looks out into the winery. This place requires an appointment and I highly suggest a stop here.

The thing that stands out the most to me in a positive way is their hospitality staff, they were very professional and warm and welcoming. The staff is what makes this place is amazing. Some wines were good, there were one or two on the flight that were just«meh» and were just ok, or not very good at at all. Overall, I thought their wines were good, but nothing exemplary. And, after reading all the Unilocal reviews I was anticipating a little more from the view, but it was still really nice.

Have always wanted to stop at Hawks View and today was the day! It did not disappoint. The wonderful wine, views, atmosphere and the attentiveness from A.J. and Dave. We, a group of 5 ladies with outside wine interests were very appreciative of the knowledge Dave shared with us. Is was fun comparing the Pinot Gris to the Chardonnay and the differences this winery has made in these two fine wines.(in a blind taste we would have flip flopped the two :) After a day of tasting wonderful Pinot Noirs, including here as well, it was a delight to dive into a Red Blend where the grapes come from another favorite AVA of mine, Horse Heaven Hills. All in all it was a great experience and we all agreed we cannot wait to come back!!!

Amazing visit! The wines were incredible. Fantastic Pinot Noirs and Gris. We even lucked out and got to buy a glass of a «found» case of White Pinot Noir, which was divine. The setting is gorgeous. We were cared for by the lovely Annie, who was charming and knowledgeable. She was delightful. Can’t wait for our next visit and are eagerly anticipating news on the Wine Club! Don’t pass up this Chehalem Mountain gem!

Spent a rainy Saturday here. Service was great, Lauren was awesome! Very knowledgeable. The Gris and the 2010 Pinot noir were wonderful! Also recommend the La Balenie, delicious. We went in a rainy day but on a nice day the sweeping views and a clear shot of Mt. hood are evident. Definitely a recommended stop for wine country. Be good to your attendant!

As you drive through the forested area right off the main road and then up the driveway, the view is not disappointing. Visiting mid December on a sunny day, the vineyard bare, and all the grounds nicely manicured, the view of Mt Hood was beautiful. Not only is the setting wonderful, the wine was our favorite of the 3 wineries that we visited that day. The white Pinot Noir was a nice surprise. Light and crisp. We didn’t walk away without purchasing a couple. We talked with the owner for quite some time. Great, down to earth, nice guy. Even though he was by himself and his tasting room was quite busy, AJ made time for everyone. We will be back for another visit…

Will start by saying, we were in wine country for four days, visited over 20 different wineries and this was the only place we went to twice. It’s an unbelievable setting, a little different than most of the other wineries as it’s surrounded by a lush fir forest. The view from the tasting room overlooks the vineyards, the forest and out to Mt Hood. Best view we saw all trip. We sat with AJ(winery owner) for an hour and a half, and talked everything from wine to family to rugby. Great guy and not your typical winery owner. We took our time sipping thru 8 – 10 different wines and all were amazing. Our favorite was the White Pinot Noir. We hadn’t see this anywhere else and it had a unique flavor profile that we just loved. Would highly recommend Hawks View to anyone who wants a personalized experience, with great wines and an even better view. One note, an appointment is needed during the week, so call ahead.

Suffice to say that not only did I enjoy our personal tasting and tour, but my wine loving friends thought it was one of the best wine experiences they ever had. AJ went above and beyond with his presentation of White Pinot Noirs, and made us feel right at home in their beautiful winery. Totally worth making an appointment to enjoy Hawks View.
