D & K Auto Glass

Did a great job at a decent price, since my back window was smashed. He even cleaned up the glass.

Stay away from this place and drive up to Breakers in Pville. DK installed a new windshield on my new car incorrectly. It never looked right in the first place and my gut told me something was wrong. I learned after the first rain how bad an incorrect install can be on a new car. My windshield leaked and it wasn’t just a drop. It was buckets.
They told me they couldn’t find the leak, my dealer found it instantly.
The guy at DK, young with attitude, basically told me it was not his fault and that I had asked him to check the driver side for a leak… I’m pretty certain I told him there was a leak and the driver floorboard was wet. I left it up to him to find the leak regardless of the wet spot.
They had a chance to find and fix my windshield. They failed. I went up to Breakers and they were professional and less expensive then the DK. The guy at DK said that I should not have gone anywhere else, «that was real bad» Excuse me for wanting my car fixed right before the storm this week.
My new car could have major damage if this leak wasn’t found after the first rain.
The oddest comment of the day was in reference to my car washing regimen.
I was accused at DK glass for never testing my window out by washing the car. The receptionist actually said «you must have a dirty car if you don’t wash it».
” You would have found it leaked if you would wash your car”. Really? Unprofessional all the way around.

I have replaced the auto glass on my car 3 times and now find myself going for a forth time replacement. The reason could very well be that there has been so much road construction on the hwy 50 corridor for quite some time. It has just been my luck to be traveling behind a vehicle that slings a small pebble. Immediately after the 3^rd replacement, the windshield immediately cracked again, so I have been driving with cracked glass for a long time, thinking why replace it? Yesterday my daughter barely tossed her cell phone on the front dash, it barely touched the glass and another crack was created. My conclusion, there really no reason my auto glass should so easily crack, unless the glass that is being sold to me is of very low grade and quality, in other words, thin, and perhaps becomes fragile in hot or cold temperatures.
I am not a glass expert, but some things do eventually become common sense to a consumer especially when having to replace something so often that it becomes unreasonably expensive. So I decided that since I need to replace this glass once again, not only will I call around to get the best quote, but perhaps there is a difference in glass quality? No auto glass repair shop, including D & K Auto Glass has ever offered me an option, I did not know there was an option. I did not know that I had the option of requesting dealer glass, or OEM glass, or after market glass. If the replaced glass would have been of a higher quality, good chances are I would not have to be replacing it now. The only reason my windshield has been replaced with low quality glass is because a higher quality has never been offered to me.
That is the reason and the only reason I am not giving D & K Glass a great review, they did not give me at least an option, nor did they inform me of the differences.

I have used them 3 times. Always had good service and a good price.

I recently had to take my car into the shop due to a Cal Trans truck throwing debris from the median and shattering my windshield. My pops had recommended this shop to me as he has always taken his glass issues here and has never had an issue. Well, his story is surely a different one than mine. The first try to get the windshield installed correctly was a fail. I was told that the glue had set wrong and that was the reason the window looked like it was «popping out» of the frame. Try two I took it back in for the same reason as try one. This time instead of just sticking more glue into the trouble ares he was able to pull the windshield and reset it. After this the window looked okay but was sent back to me with more blue tape than ever holding the molding in place until it had dried. After getting home from work with the cruise set at 60 as to not mess up anything, I found many bubbles and had to take it back for yet another fix. Finally! My windshield looks as good as new and there are no bubbles, problems or leaks! Next time I shall find a different shop!
