My wife and I stopped in on our daytime road trip. I love old style diners. And this one did not disappointed. The service was great and the food hit the spot. And you can’t beat the price for the amount of food you get.

Just stopped in by myself for a quick bite, got one blueberry pancake with a large milk to wash it down. Pancake was good size loaded with tons of blueberries, but what I really liked was the price, $ 4.50 not bad will be back with my son.

Had a wedding in Leominster and the bride and groom recommend this spot. I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Overheard the waitress talking about the history of the little boxcar and liked it more, it’s from the 1920s! Homefries are made fresh for every order, the bacon egg and cheese hit the spot, and pumpernickel bread is served. My boyfriends omelet was better than he imagined and was exactly what he needed, along with the ginger ale, after the prior nights celebration. I live in Philadelphia so I’m a little bummed I won’t be able to ever have the fish & chips on Friday. I had to buy a coffee mug so when I’m making myself breakfast and sipping my coffee I can remember how great KJs airport dinner is!

Friendly, fast, and best of all — deliciously homemade and abundant. These are my favorite types of places.

A very divey place, kind of in the middle of nowhere near some industrial areas. That being said, it is the kind of place you are looking for when you are on a backroad. First things first, CASHONLY, but trust me when I say your cash goes a very long ways here. You will feel like you have stepped back in time as this place is small, and old but thats what makes it cool. Mary seems to be the person who is queen here and she is friendly, and very service oriented. Lots of locals here and she knows them by name and is quick to ask about family and situations. She knows her stuff. Food is basic home cooked breakfast and lunch and while I only had a cheeseburger and fries they were fresh, hot and flavorful. Daily special board has a mix of comfort foods, fish and even asian stir fry. All in all if you are in the area stop in. You’ll leave satisfied.

How did Siri know I’m a sucker for small airport restaurants and old diners. KJ’s is both! First time I had a keilbasa club. It’s a shame the airport itself is closed. I love it when you walk in the door and the waitress says, «coffee?» About 50 model airplanes hanging from the ceiling. Place is pretty run down, but it’s heart is in the right place. Would probably be my regular hangout if I lived nearby.

My parents are regulars and I like it. Mary is great, very pleasent and always remembers your order after a few visits. The foods simple, good price, and you can order anything youd like if I dont want all 3 pancakes I can have two. If I want a custom omelete, Mary will make sure I got it hot and fresh. Sure this isnt the diner I grew up at hanging out with dad but its quaint, simple, and has good service.

Looked out my window this morning and saw nothing but spit and drool coming down from the sky, so I left the Harley parked and hopped in my truck and headed out to KJ’s. for some breakfast. I haven’t been here for a while but I remembered that I had a good meal on my last visit. I recognized the waitress behind the counter from before. Her name is Mary and she is very pleasant to chat with and knowledgeable about the history of the diner. Seems it came from the neighboring town of Clinton some 40 yrs ago, changed hands about 4 yrs ago and is now known as The Shirley Diner, though the sign out front doesn’t show that yet. Ony two other customers inside and I struck up a very interesting conversation with one, a correctional officer, who works at the prison just down the road. I never knew what a thankless job those people have and what they go through day in and day out, risking life and limb for not much money. I got a real ear full and now know what they have to put up with. Poor guy, I’m sure he was in just trying to wind down from his shift, and here I was bending his ear. He did seem eager to share his story and I was fascinated by it… Anyway, I had an awesome breakfast and the money goes a long way in this place. The coffee and service were outstanding. There isn’t anthing fancy about this place at all. I love to talk to the workers and patrons in diners like this. The blue collar people who frequent these places make the experience more than just a good meal.

Decent food, but nothing remarkable. Agreed about the friendly service.

This place doesn’t look like much on the outside or even on the inside but it does have cool Aviation décor. If you like an old style, hole in the wall diner, this is the place for you. A large breakfast menu, friendly service, and great diner food. Worth a visit.
