Checkers

I stop in here frequently — yes– I realize there’s a huge Sodium content, but it tastes so good. My biggest problem with their food is I happen to like the Chilly Cheese Dogs and no matter how careful I try to be – I always end up getting it all over my hands, shirt and car seat. I’ve gotta start eating them standing up in the parking lot — maybe then I’d only get chilly and cheese on my feet. Great food though !

Checkers by far is the best fast food restaurant on Long Island! They always make the food right. I tried the new Montréal Steak Burger and I must say it was delicious. I rarely eat fast food anymore, but Checkers is my kryptonite. The one in Shirley is the best one I feel. I’ve been to all them on Long Island (yeah, you can judge me) the only negative is the Manager. He is always so rude to me and I don’t know why. I don’t go for him, I go to eat good burgers. If your not a fan of fast food, I would suggest giving it a try!

Checkers is the place you go when you just don’t give a hoot anymore about your body. It’s tasty cheap food that you know is killing you as you eat it.
Still, sometimes you just don’t care. If your in that kind of mood… load up the car with the family and chow down of chili dogs, cheeseburgers and shakes.
Your tongue will say thank you, your heart will explode.

1). They always have some special offer.
Download their phone APP.
Do some survey and get a coupon for next visit.
I’ve actually walked in, asked for coupons.
Then used them a few minutes later in the drive through.
2) ALL AMERICAN BURGER just cheese, with fries added to burger,
is among the greatest guilty pleasure tastes you can get!
3) They are very friendly there.
4) Taste of food can vary depending on visit, overall, they got most of it right, most of the time.
5) This is the checkers to goto.
I’ve been to several all over Long Island, but this was my favorite.
6). The drive through seems a bit confusing, seems like you have two choices, but one of them, your away from the window (maybe makes sense if passenger wants to use that side)
7) They have tables to sit down at as well
8) OK, the neighborhood around there, isn’t the greatest, but if you just order take out and then park at the Kohl’s nearby to eat it, you should be safe.
9) Can still picture, very nice black woman calling me «Hon» when I ordered.
That doesn’t really happen in Boston area.

I usually dislike eating at fast food/​drive thru places, but Checkers is my little guilty pleasure. After a long day of catching waves at Smithpoint Beach, I was hungry! Must have fries! What better place to fullfill my cravings then Checkers? They have delicously seasoned crispy fries. mmmm… They also have Banana Milkshakes that are to dieee for! Who knew banana can be soo damn tasty!
So if your in the mood for some good old burgers, fries, and milkshakes — this is your place!

Always plentiful coupons. Hours could be increased, though… Watch what they promise you and compare it to what you actually get. The b/​r on the side of the place near the drive-​thru window should stay open up after 9 (who needs it before then??). This is my jump-​off joint, as it were, for cheap banana milkshakes & spiced-​up (but not spicy) fries, as friends down Big Bufords and rub meat sauce all over my nether regions.
