L.A. Tan

Horrible! Back in October, an employee here stole my wedding ring and I only got it back thanks to Shorewood PD! The Manager treated me poorly during the entire process and only agreed to turn over surveillance when police insisted. Even after seeing the tape, she still insisted I was mistaken about her employee, which by the way turned out to be an admitted 6-​year heroine addict with current legal issues. The police notified the Manager that the employee admitted guilt and turned over the ring, but NO ONE, not even corporate, ever contacted me with so much as an apology! I would have demanded a refund on my account balance, but I won’t step foot in that store after what they put me through. What this means for consumers; clearly employees are not screened prior to hire or this girl wouldn’t have worked there. And all liability is on the consumer. Is this the type of place you want to do business with?

I like it here they always have packages on the beds, and it has always been clean when I go. I mostly go here for the spray tans before I go somewhere or something. They always do a great job of explaining the. Spray tanning bed process, because I take a huge break in between spray tans sometimes I need I refresher coarse… Don’t ask. I am super claustrophobic and I tend to freak out in small spaces with stuff spraying in my face. #Groupon # LA tan

I really liked LA Tan when I went with a free tan offer. I ended up trying their red light beds and buying a tanning package. I watched a video on their site about their tanning booths. It was different than other booths I have previously used so I asked the girl that was working to show me how to use it so I wouldn’t mess it up. I tanned last night and was happy the solution wasn’t as strong smelling as some others. HOWEVER this morning I realized that I have one very darkly tanned leg/​foot and one that is not tanned at all. This wouldn’t be as bad if I could wear pants and at least have my feet match. I called and told them I had one untanned leg and asked if they could spray just my leg. They are unable to do that. Their only suggestion was to come in and buy some of their sunless products to use on the one leg. Mind you with all the products I have purchased in the past two weeks I have already spent over $ 80. Now the machine sprays me funny and the solution is to spend more of my $ to fix it? How about spraying me again in the booth and having me put barrier cream on the tanned leg? This has really soured me a but because every time I go in some product is being suggested bc its «on sale» (they are all always on sale to give you a sense of urgency to purchase).

I was in the Shorewood location yesterday for the first time. The girl at the front desk was great, explaining the packages and tanning «bucks» that they had to offer! Although, it did get busy at times while we were talking about my options she politely asked to help the other customers and then came back to help me afterwards!

Don’t come here for a spray tan. The booth sucks. I somehow forgot it wasn’t a versa spa today. Your thighs will be dark and nothing else.

I’ve been going to this tanning salon for a year now. This location is great! Friendly people always answers all my questions. Never have to wait

My visit with this location was just a disaster. When I walked in the girl with the tattoo and blonde hair was walking up from the back smelling like marijuana. She said «last name?» She had no manners at all and doesn’t seem qualified for the job. She has zero personal skills and doesn’t seem to like her job. She sounded very blank and her eyes looked very red. She had no interest in helping me and when I was dressing myself she rudely walked in on me without knocking or anything. I was so embarrassed and felt like I didn’t matter as a customer. As I left she didn’t apologize or say anything to me. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I would rather take my business to Australian Tan in Shorewood, I will never go back to any La tan.

Last review was highly inaccurate. After going to this location again. the beds are dirty, and all of the beds are in poor shape with cracks and holes in them. Very disappointed. will be going to a different location. Morning employee lacks in professionalism and does not clean the beds properly, and I’m guessing it’s probably because everytime I go in there she’s on a personal call.

Suggestion:
I get it. A prospective customer asking a zillion questions about pkgs & then the wife asking a zillion more… You want the sale; but please take a nano-​second maybe say «excuse me do you mind if I take a moment & check in one of our valued members»
And please check in your already loyal member/​customer into tan… I could have tanned 5 tans while waiting for the indecisive couple to make their choice.
Finally had to give up & leave — no fake sun today (just say n)
NOW SEVERAL DAYS LATER I VISIT THE SALON AGAIN … thankful that the Manager on site saw the rating and I spoke with & she gets it & had a talk with her team that current customers are just as important ~ THANK YOU !
Now as you see above I re– rated appropriately.
The only reason it’s a 4 vs 5 is I’d like it to open earlier like they use to… But I’m dealing with that :)
