This ia such a cute little restaurant, and the food is outstanding! My husband & I went on a freezing cold Sunday, and ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and the Tom Kah Gai Soup. Omg, it was so good, I thought, «This is going to be a regular treat for us!» The spices were perfectly balanced, hitting all my taste buds… sweet, salty, tangy, hot but not too hot, too! I can’t wait to go back, they do a great carry out biz, too.

This is my favorite Thai place to go to! The owner is very personable and always remembers my friend and I when we go(even our orders). She even made us hot tea since it was so cold out! The food is always fantastic and fresh. The Crab Rangoon and Pad Thai are my favorites. Order them pretty much every time!

I love this place! I’ve made it an unofficial tradition to come here on my way driving home from Chicago. I love the décor inside. The waitresses are always so kind, and the food is great! Prices are definitely reasonable.

Not bad. Pad Thai is the go to. Never eaten inside, but the takeout is good. Glad we have a Thai place in Joliet area. Probably not a large market for it. Hope this place stays in business.

This is a very a very unique restaurant. I have eaten here about 6 times since May 2015 and every time it is totally great eats. This is a small place so it is BYOB! They do serve wonderful tea hot in cute pots of all shapes and kinds. It has Thai food but they have other offerings as well. The appetizer menu is fabulous. For those of you that love pot stickers these are by far that best. They are not doughy blobs. They have egg rolls, Crab Rangoon, Satay, and spring rolls The sauces are home made and great. There is not enough that I can say about this place that is not exaggerating. You need to try this place. They do a lot of carry-out. But the dinning in is a treat too.

I’ve been going here for lunch for a long time and the food never disappoints. The Kee Mao and the Spicy Basil Noodle are both excellent. I’d definitely recommend to anyone that enjoys Thai food.

Deep fried potstickers are out of this world! The dipping sauce that comes with works so well with anything I dip. All the noodle dishes are great. Curry dishes are really good as well. I have absolutely no complaints :) great job guys

The Jewel of Joliet! The interior of the restaurant feels like a cozy tropical garden. Service was quick and very friendly. The Tom Kha soup was the best I’ve ever had. Also tried both the Asian eggplant and spicy basil noodle. Both were absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back if I find myself in Joliet again!

Found this place my first day in town when I relocated here for work 7 years ago… now I am on a new leg of my journey to a new state. I will miss this place, they have FABULOUS food.

Décor was a little on the different side. Service was very slow and we were the only ones there. Food was very good. Portion size was a little small. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and the majority of my plate was veggies. Usually I cannot finish my meal– and I wear able to there!

My family and I went there because of the Unilocal reviews I read. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent! The appetizers were amazing, the duck was fantastic, pad Thai scrumptious, even the won ton soup went around the table twice. Every bite was delightful! The atmosphere was very unique and the service was fast and friendly. I will absolutely be returning to Smile of Siam!

This place is… different. Smile of Siam is located in a strip mall, which isn’t so weird, but the unusual décor featuring a meadow’s worth of flowers, multiple fountains, a faux tree with dollar bills hanging from it, jewelry for sale at the front counter, and instrumental music is a little, uh, weird. It’s a flower shop meets thrift store meets kitschy Asian restaurant. It’s cool, I like that they’re doing their own thing, but there’s too much stuff! I went in to get some food to-go. It was a Friday night, and the lady at the register was very nice to me. She was obviously bombarded with take-out orders. She scribbled on her notepad, answered the phone, and even offered me some water while I waited for my food. There was only one group dining in, so despite all of Smile’s efforts to make this a cozy paradise, clearly the big draw is take-out. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai(spicy!) and the crab rangoon. The Pad Thai was okay, but it was not spicy. I’ve had generic mild salsa with more of a kick. There was a small cup of red sauce with chilies in my bag, so I poured that over my meal. It still wasn’t spicy at all — and I’m not a heat chaser by any means. I was actually afraid it would be TOO hot. I noticed that this Pad Thai was different. Instead of adding bean sprouts for crunch, there was shredded iceberg lettuce in my noodles. Yuck! Some of it was crunchy, but most of it was wet, soggy and warm, which gives lettuce a disgusting flavor. I tried to pick out as much out of it as I could, but I struggled. The crab rangoon was really good. It tasted like real crab, it wasn’t stuffed with mostly cream cheese like other places. The sauce with it was honey-like. These were fantastic, and I’d recommend them to anyone that comes in. But this Thai place is a little too far from home for me to come back and try it again.

What a cute little restaurant. Service was great, the waitresses are friendly and always have a smile on their face. The restaurant Itself is overly decorated with plants and beta fish in fish bowls but it’s a very cute authentic look. I love the little Buddha shrine with the money tree! ^_^ The Thai iced tea is soooooo good! ! I wish refills were FREE! We got a variety of dishes including the pad Thai, garlic chicken noodles, super duck, and the yellow chicken curry. The curry was delicious but the pad Thai was on point. Deliciously blended with chicken, vegetables, and noodles, this is by far my favorite of the dishes we got. I added some soy sauce to give it extra flavor but it’s really not necessary as the noodles are full of flavor themselves. I highly recommend the pad Thai noodles! As for dessert, we tried both the sticky rice and the Thai custard. The Thai custard was so delicious. It was like a taste of heaven :) The sticky rice was pretty good too although I liked the Thai custard better; definitely more flavorful. If I lived in the area I would definitely go here more often! Highly recommend this Thai restaurant to anyone who might might be craving some delicious Thai meals.

Been going here several times. The décor is ridiculous and a little bit hilarious. Fake and real plants, things, doilies and fish and lace everywhere. A bit cramped /small but I think it is kinda cute. I usually get the curry which has always been good, if a bit spicy. The Papaya salad is good and my favorite is the green curry and coconut curries. Nice place for lunch, never super busy. I think most of their business is takeout. Been happy every time I have gone, friendly staff and decent food. The food does sometimes come out piece meal though, but we never had to wait too long to all get our food. 4 stars due to the time to get the food out, it is nice but not wow nice. I will keep going here for sure though.

Best Thai food you will find in the area. I’ve review a few times before but some reason another smile of Siam showed up on Unilocal… It’s the same place and same great food. Clean restaurant, although a bit funny décor it’s still excellent food. Just Nancy and her family own it and run it. Good people and even better thai food. Chicken Pad Thai, ask for it spicy… That’s my go to here. Also the spring roll is wonderful. Haven’t had to much else but my friend likes the spicy basil chicken.

I like this place. We tried to go there a couple times before and they always seemed closed. I finally got to try it and ordered the spring rolls and Pad Thai. Traditional Thai food, these dishes is what I use to gauge Thais place. I figure if you screw these up then it isn’t worth a trip back. I ordered the food and picked it up. The inside looks like a botanical gardens, not the most ideal setting for dinning in. Not sure I have any plans to ever dine inside I think I will always take it to-go. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and the delicious food. Can’t wait to try it again, in fact I might even go tonight

Just«try» not to smile when you see the décor. I’d say it was Happy style, like an 8th grader gone wild. The goofiness of the restaurant is so unique, my mom likes to bring friends and family just for the reaction. The food is yummy. Above all, it is such a refreshment to find a unique restaurant in the midst of so many chains. Hooray for small businesses, a dying breed! Try the satay and tofu pad Thai! As joyous as the décor
