Any chefs or home cooks dream store! They always have everything you could need and then some! Service is always prompt and friendly despite being packed with customers. Never a shortage of employees offering to assist you in finding something. Today I needed a new digital meat thermometer and of course they had it. Just wish they carried Henckles knives. Great store! Great quality!

I bought a $ 20 lime juicer from W-S in February for my wife as part of a Valentine’s day present, she bought same juicer for me, so we had two. I tried to return it 46 days after purchase. Assistant manager at the counter enthusiastically proclaimed, «it’s more than 30 days after purchase, there’s nothing I can do». I advised her that we have been longstanding, loyal customers of W-S, is there anything she might do to accommodate us? Again she proclaimed, «it’s the store policy, it’s on the receipt, there is nothing I can do». After advising her that I was going to detail this exchange on Unilocal,Google, FB and Twitter, Ms. Assistant Manager addressed my wife. First offering store credit, and eventually after an ugly, ugly exchange, a refund. I left angry, frustrated, and disgusted, all over a $ 20 return of a non-seasonal item. This was a classic opportunity for enhanced customer loyalty. Instead it was turned into an ugly exchange that has caused the loss of a long-standing family of customers. Love their products, hate the arrogance. Done with Williams Sonoma. jw

Love this store. Can’t come in and not make a purchase. Bought the Fatty Cue line of sauces today and the service was as always, excellent.

The Manager at this location is very impolite, and belittling. She scoffed at my friend multiple times for asking very simplistic questions when you should be happy to teach us! She even said«I don’t have time to tell you, today is a very busy day.» She needs to learn to treat her customers with attention and respect… no matter how busy the day is(at least guide us to someone else who can answer our questions… we want to be knowledgeable consumers before we buy something for hundreds of dollars!) I loved Williams Sonoma and have been shopping there for years, after this experience I will NEVER shop at the Short Hills location ever again. The manager needs to learn more about customer service, and empathy. The rest of the staff is pleasant, but I feel bad that they have to all work with such an angry and unpleasant boss.

Their house brand spices in the short glass jars are absolutely fantastic, especially the Chinese five spice powder, which blows away any other you will find. They constantly bring in new and interesting cooking supplies and fancy food products that keep the place interesting over the years. Prices are high, but so is the quality and the service is great. Really nice people work here — they hire very well.

Simply put, I come here to dream. I look at the beautiful cookware & utensils, and imagine them in my kitchen. I thumb through the dozens of cookbooks, from world-renowned and celebrity chefs, and picture myself cooking everything with ease, wearing a pretty apron in front of a sunny window. I walk past all the specialty oils, spices, and rubs, and think of all the amazing dishes I could create with them. I look at all the delicious food & drink mixes, and … well I buy those. And the soaps too, because the scents are heavenly and make great gifts(and I’ve forgiven them for discontinuing their delicious lime lotion). And the holiday items! Their Peppermint Bark is legendary. My parents really love the scone mixes. My boyfriend’s extensive spice search ended here. Friends and family often register for their weddings here, and I love picking out their gifts! The employees are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They’re patient with me when I explain that I’m just daydreaming about using the mixers and pots and pans. I’m sure I’m not the first person to walk into Williams Sonoma with stars in her eyes. Even when I don’t plan to stop in, I’m usually lured through the doors by the intoxicating scent of one of their cooking demonstrations. My next dream? I’m dying to attend one of their book signings. It seems like there’s always a famous chef coming to this location, and I always miss it. But not this time. If I see my favorite chefs on that calendar of events, I’m signing up!

*sigh* If it wasn’t for the prices of some of these items, I think I could be in heaven. As with most William Sonoma stores, the layout is beautiful, the offerings are plentiful, and the smell of freshly made waffles permeated the store. The smell of waffles without any waffles in sight meant that we missed the demonstration(did I mention that they do in-store and online video demonstrations of most of their products?) of the all-clad waffle maker. That being said, we picked up quite a few novelty items such as a strawberry stem remover and a multi-purpose chopper(pre-watched the video online at home). Some of the employees were super-friendly and willing to help, and others were a wee-bit confused about where to get the boxes for the actual items, since items not readily visible on the floor may be hiding under wrapping paper with a large bow — amazing that they use it for decoration. There is a huge price difference between the products here and those at Bed Bath and Beyond, but for me, when judging the value of my toys/tools, I also look at how much they cost, and it’s very hard to justify some of the items here… especially when you can use a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond! Still, there are tons of specialty items that aren’t available elsewhere so it’s definitely worth browsing.

I am ga-ga for williams sonoma. The location never matters. Each and every shop is brilliantly organized with cookery and fine specialty foods and electronics that I cannot live without. In this shop alone, I discovered the next salt I need, the fritta pan for Snarky, our 15th coffee maker(Nespresso!!!), Alpico china, balsamic vinegar that I could drink for breakfast it’s so good… etc. One and only product that has changed for the worse in my opinion are their soaps/lotions. The choices of scents and packaging are not appealing to me anymore. I used to love their meyer lemon dish soap. Also their valencia orange. mmm. But no more. Too bad, gonna have to find it on ebay.
