I absolutely loved our winter stay. Service: check in is at 2 pm. Kay was working the front desk and was helpful getting us situated. When I saw that there was no microwave as we had been told the night before on the phone, I asked if one could be brought to our room. She did me one better and offered us the red bungalow When we locked te keys in the car, she let us use the general store phone to call AAA. the gal working the general store was really great too as she told us that she would direct the tow truck driver to our bungalow so we wouldn’t have to wait an hour in the general store. Accommodations: for our winter stay, the heater worked well, a little too well for us. The thermostat seemed to have two settings– 60 or 80. Everything was clean and the kitchenette was very well stocked. It had a full fridge, microwave, stove and oven. The stove had two settings too: high And med high. The bathroom was immaculate and had a sit down shower with adjustable shower head. I don’t know legal stuff about wheelchair accessibility, but I think this bungalow is wheelchair accessible. The bed is a little on the soft side, I think. And the sofa pulls out to a queen too. You could comfortably fit three adults here, maybe four. We enjoyed all our breakfasts and dinners using the kitchenette. There’s also a BBQ pit outside! The only concern is that there is no phone nor wifi available. The front desk closes at ten and your only lifeline is the pay phone about a 5−7minute walk from the bungalow, infront of the crowbar café. Location: for the price and accommodations, it’s great proximity to most of the sites and hikes in Death Valley. The general store offers most things you would need in a pinch and also beautiful turquoise jewelry. The crowbar café serves up solid meals for a fair price. There’s also great views of the stars at night just outside your door. Overall, I would def recc this place. It’s comfortable, clean, quiet, safe and affordable. They’re doing renovations right now on the rest of their rooms. Check out my photos.

Look, if you wanna stay out here in the weirdest/coolest reaches of the desert… you can’t expect much. If retro ambiance is your priority, then stay in Tecopa at Delight’s(see my review; rough & rustic, very atmospheric). If you prefer a FEW comforts without being totally connected, then stay at Tecopa Hot Springs Resort(see my review, also recommended). But if you want reliable WiFi, with reliable access to food/drink…this is your best bet! I stayed here in 8/15, in one of the newer rooms up on the hill. WiFi was fast, room was clean and modern(with a few unavoidable bugs), and the swimming pool was A M A Z I N G ! Though it’s ¼ mile from the motel, it’s a GREAT spot to hang out and cool down. Along the way you can stop to say hi to the tortoises… which makes for a really enjoyable walk. The Chas. Brown market/gas is available right down the way for any last-minute food/booze/lottery needs… and the Crowbar is right across the street for meals and booze. I will DEFINITELY stay here again.

Look, you’re not going to come out to this little village in the middle of nowhere and find a Four Seasons. But I enjoyed Shoshone Inn all the same. The older lady who checked me in was quite pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, the kitchenette was functional. The spring-fed pool was clean and the temperature of a warm bath. The fire pit at night is a nice touch. And a gem of a little restaurant, the Crowbar Café, is across the street. It’s nothing fancy but it was a nice stopover for less than half the price of the hotels in the park. Thumbs up.

This place is pretty ok when the location and the price you pay for this place is kept in mind… They have nice cozy rooms with blowers and carbon monoxide alarms.

My family and I stayed here for four nights. The inn is very peaceful. There were other occupants from around the world — everyone was very nice. We loved the fire-pit, outdoor seating, and access to the pool. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I do wish that the kitchens came with plates, utensils, and a couple of things to cook in — but the fridge and microwave were great to have.

We stayed here last night it was wonderful the staff was amazing. It was rustic but I wasn’t expecting the four seasons it is in a tiny little town that it appears time has forgotten or so you would think. The bed was fantastic heating was great as it was freezing cold and the only other option was to sleep in our Jeep I think not. Going to this place is a great deal the whole little area is amazing.

This place if in LA would be called a dump, but in Death Valley area it was a godsend. Rooms are a bit pricey(cost nearly $ 100 a night) and lacked a fridge, microwave, etc. They were definitely comfortable and clean, but still overpriced. Since Shoshone has absolutely NO cell coverage, the free WiFi was perfect. The only other option was staying in nearby Tecopa at the Hot Springs resort in a tiny bungalow for $ 65– no thanks. For what it is, this place is great… Who goes to the desert expecting a resort? You supposed to come out here to get away from all of the corporate BS of the city, right? You can drive another 80 miles to Furnace Creek and sleep at their resort for $ 200 a night or stay here. Or if you want cheap, and having a boring, pointless, «city» experience being pampered by Denny’s and Motel 6, drive out of the desert to Pahrump. There’s a free warm spring pool, just a short, beautiful walk. There’s an amazing hike out back(starts beside the school house), and it’s across the street from the amazing Crowbar Café(good food and prices, find that in Death Valley!), and beside a convenient store. About 1⁄10th of a mile away are the Dublin City cave homes(AMAZING) and the super awesome Shoshone Cemetery, which the«white pole» hike takes you past. So, really, the place isn’t that bad at all. Shoshone is an amazing little town.

This motel is rustic, a bit rundown and not for high-maintenance types, but for the rest of us, it’s a great place to stay. The rooms are comfortable(and many have a kitchenette), it has cable and free wifi and a lovely little gas fireplace out front. The employees are as friendly as can be and Shoshone is a lovely little town. Have breakfast at the Crowbar across the street and head into Tecopa for dinner in the desert at Pastels.

I stayed here over the weekend while on one of my many Death Valley trips. Keeping in mind that the population of Shoshone is about 100 and you’re out in the middle of no where this motel is an adequate place to sleep. It is a tad less clean than I’d like but fine for a night or 2. My room had a queen bed, fridge, microwave, and tv. It cost $ 85/night. Free wifi was very very nice considering my mobile phone had no coverage. Anywhere else this would be 2*s but it is Death Valley. after all.
