What a great place! People who have a passion for food and the community! I had to go to Phoenix to satisfy my cravings for good noodles but no more. They are also a favorite of my children who love the kabobs and every breakfast item on the menu! Keep it up what’s cooking!

Reminds me a lot of an east coast diner. The atmosphere and presentation are average or below, but the food is so good it really doesn’t matter. Their good is simple, flavor driven, and absolutely delicious. I am an east coast transplant and desperately missing ethnic food. The Thai soup here totally changed that. It is a solid meal for a couple people and the flavors nail what it should be. The meatball sub and the pastrami sandwich are no the incredibly simple but done so well it is with the trip. I have yet to try something here I would not recommend to a friend.

This is our new«go to» breakfast and lunch restaurant. Fresh«real» good with wonderful flavored and varied menu. Good for gluten free food. And the owners go out of their way to adjust menu for particular dietary needs. Very capable and friendly staff and sunny atmosphere. Please support these creative service oriented restaurant owners.

This is a gem of a place to eat. Freshly cooked and nicely spiced dishes that vary from down home cooking to oriental and mediterranean. Quite a variety for a small, family operated place. They make their own pastrami, breads, sweet rolls, etc. Eat in or take out, this is a really enjoyable place to try, and try, and try.

Good fresh food prepared just perfect. Great bakery items and the sandwiches are superb. The pastrami is tender and savory. The posole was excellent and the salads were fresh. No salt was added, but it was available on the table. Very health conscious kitchen and bakery.

Great food and service. A must try. The pork sandwich, hillbilly Benedict, chicken tikki, and pork adovada are all yummy.

I am honored to submit the first review of this gem of a restaurant. And I will preface this by saying I know the owners personally. However, I know what I like, and when I enjoy something, I like to Unilocal!about it. I will try to be as objective as possible. I worked with both Gene and Soupy for many years. And here it is, two years after I last saw either of them. I heard through the grapevine that they had opened their own place. It didn’t matter that Show Low was a three hour drive from the valley. The drive was worth it! The menu is definitely not what I would’ve expected from Show Low. What’s Cooking’s menu is simple and diverse. There is American comfort food and several options from other corners of the world. Mediterranean, Thai, and Latin America are just a few of the influences. I wish I could’ve sampled the breakfast, but I was a little late for that. For such a new restaurant, the place was busy. Gene, Soupy and Lisa were all busy taking orders, cooking, serving, cleaning, and interacting with their guests. I even saw a local bring in her own pot to take home some soup. Clearly, they’ve made some good connections here. I enjoyed one of the daily specials, the Soupy Burger. It had grilled mushrooms and onions served on toasted bread and I chose the Greek salad as a side. My company had the Caprese salad and a meatball sub. It’s easy to enjoy tasty food. It’s another thing to taste something that you can tell is made from scratch. Gene and Soupy definitely love what they do. I wish them all the best! I hope Show Low and the neighboring communities hear about it. I will be back soon!
