Ordered 4 lbs of crawfish for dinner. The flavor was good, but about half of the crawfish were too small — about the size of my thumb. I’m suprised they would sell crawfish this small. Don’t think I would ever come back.

This restaurant is clean and friendly. I had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer; I loved them. Then I ordered a BBQ sandwich they was chopped beef/chopped sausage combined; magnificent!!! I look forward to my return as this will be the first stop in Shreveport.

From Lafayette, and know what Cajun food is supposed to taste like. Shane’s gets it right, for the most part. As much as can be expected in SBC, at least. The gumbo tastes like gumbo(Cajun, not creole. No tomatoes, thank gawd) instead or the weird gravy concoction that a lot of places around here serve. Their crawfish or good when in season, too. No complaints. It’s not like going to Breaux Bridge or Abbeville, but nobody’s expecting that anyway. Solid. Got all the fixings, too. Good smoothies too. Good BBQ. Excellent selection overall, obviously. Everything’s reasonably priced, and it’s good to have multiple locations around town for when the gumbo mood strikes on a cold day.

We split the jambalaya and the seafood combo– it was pretty tasty. Should have tried the crawfish, it was huge and looked really good. Next time!

I really don’t get the appeal to this place. Ordered two burgers today and there was nothing on them. No ketchup mustard — nada. No veggies.. nothing. My bud said the catfish was seasonless and cold. I do not understand the draw to this establishment.

This place is pretty good. I had the«Catfish Laffitte» which is fried catfish topped with étouffée on a bed of rice. One word describes this dish, YUM. I think they’re Hushpuppies are number 2 in the south.

Drive by Shane’s BBQ decide to venture in for a late lunch. Numerous empty tables that haven’t been bussed yet, uh oh not good first impression. Do I sit myself or order at counter??? Not sure I walk up to counter. Super friendly girl at counter takes my order. Realize she’s working the place by herself so that explains dirty tables. I order fried shrimp platter, not cheap. Meal comes and I’m immediately disappointed. A few under sized shrimp, small side of cole slaw, puny hush puppies. Taste hush puppy, dry and no flavor, cole slaw was good, fries good, shrimp good flavor, cocktail sauce good. No value for $$$. Scratched off my list for rest of stay in area.

Terrible food, no liquor license, and average service. Good seafood is somewhat hard to find in shreveport, but there’s still no reason to go here.

Never had crawfish before so I definitely am not the best person to give the best advice on whether this place is the best crawfish place in town. However, I did enjoy my experience here and this is one of the places my family and I have as a popular spot we would go to eat for dinner. Whenever we have family come and visit, we have taken them to this place and every single one has enjoyed the food and service. I definitely enjoyed the Crawfish but my favorite is definitely a mixture of fried alligator and fried oyster basket. You HAVE to try the Shane Sauce with their fries. I’m always asking for this sauce for everything. My kids love the fried alligator basket and my husband loves ordering the gumbo and the barbecue dishes are yummy as well! It’s a great atmosphere, food has yet to disappoint me. There are other Shane restaurants around Shreveport-Bossier but this specific spot is my favorite. To be honest, the only slight negative piece I have is their large selection of food on their menu, there is so much to read and try that I definitely need more than just a few minutes to look at it! I guess that may not really be a con… Here are items I have tried and really liked: –Fried Pickles w/shane sauce or ranch –Fried Catfish plate –Crawfish basket –Alligator basket – I loved this better than the blackened alligator, but then I also heard everything taste better fried :) –Combination plate-Fried alligator and fried oysters(my favorite!) –The Blink(bbq sandwich mix of chop beef and hot link) –Sausages –Homemade Italian crème cake –Crawfish basket with corn, red potatoes and sausages(these can be added with an extra fee) Hope this review helped in some way! Enjoy!

I’ve been here twice, and both times the food has been way too salty. I tried the crawfish ettoufe on top of catfish, and my boyfriend had the brisket. The ettoufe was nothing special, and the brisket wasn’t very tender. We also had the fried pickles, but the fried pickles at the Real Pickle are way better! I was SO thirsty for the rest of the day. People do like their crawfish, but just get yourself some from Shaver’s and eat them at home!

If you want crawfish this is the place. Great boiled crawfish. Don’t know how the other food tastes but we couldn’t stop eating the boiled crawfish.

This review only pertains to the chopped beef sandwich. I have never been to Shane’s so I decided to give it a try. I went through the drive-thru late one Friday night, and ordered the chop beef sandwich. The sandwich was a little more than $ 5 without any sides(a little steep in my opinion). The drive thru attendee was very nice and helpful, I give the service 5 imaginary stars. But the reason I gave this place 3 stars is because the overly priced sandwich was nothing special honestly. I have had better at other places. The bun tasted like it was from the local walmart and the meat was literally chopped into squares(ha it was kinda cool).

He said: Not the best crawfish I *ever* had, but pretty good. We actually went back a few days later. Probably the best you’ll get in Shreveport. Staff friendly and helpful. She said: My first experience with crawfish! Had the crawfish, corn, potatoes… yum!!! I would definitely come back!

The GOOD: – There was plenty of comfortable seating – The crawfish was well seasoned – The dessert was awesome The Non-So-Good: – The crawfish was too salty – The crawfish was WAY too small Unless the crawfish sizes here gets while lot larger, not worth returning.

Bleck! I have eaten here twice in the last year, and each time I walk out with the same impression: Why did I just pay so much for my food, and why was my food so cold or lukewarm? The first time I ever dined here, was this past summer(2011). I ordered a ribeye steak because they had it on special. It tasted okay, but honestly, by the time I got it I(and there wasn’t a huge wait time) it was pretty cold. Last night, I ordered their«Cajun» burger combo. There was nothing Cajun about this burger! No spiciness, no zing and no zest! A nursing home could’ve given me a spicier dish than this! And the fries that came with it? Just plain ol’, bland ol’ krinkle cut fries. The whole combo was cold and the burger was dry! I also ordered the«house specialty» de-veined boiled shrimp… a half pound. Also bland, also cold! I don’t know what it is about the temperature of the food, they must have industrial-sized air conditioners blowing in the kitchen to keep it cool, because the food is just… cold. This has happened twice! Twice! Two different times, two different months, two different meals! At Shane’s, they are consistent in two things: Cold and cost! Cold food. Way overpriced! And let me add one more: It’s also just bland as all get out!

Everytime I go home my son BEGS me to take him to 2 places — Johnny’s pizza and Shane’s! Been eating here since it was just a drive thru — now they have indoor/outdoor seating on Youree Dr. Our fav is the crawfish étouffée — they make it with a light roux and it’s nice and spicy! I’ve had everything on the menu but the bbq — meat pies, catfish, crawfish, crab legs, red beans and rice, pistolettes, they even have a wonderful smoothies.

We went all the way to Arkansas for a few days and since we drove from Dallas I was hell bent on eating some crawfish in Louisiana… and, Unilocal delivered. Crawfish I had. They don’t serve any alcohol so it was fortunate that we stopped at the CVS pharmacy further up the road and bought some local brew which we proceeded to sneak in the back door(literally) and enjoy… It wasn’t hard to hide, so I’d recommend doing that. Just make sure to bless your meal really loudly and you shouldn’t have any problems with the locals. My boo says the bugs were a little smaller than they should be but perhaps it’s just the beginning of the season? The giggles I got out of taunting crawfish holding them in front of my face by a single claw and saying«i’mma eat you!’ and the quality of the photo we took outside the restaurant easily put this place at 4 stars as it was the highlight of several days of a trip in the south.

If you want a quick catfish dinner with most of the fixin’s, then this is the place. They have several different options for your catfish cravings. You can choose from a 3 pc., 4 pc., 5 pc., 6 pc., or all you can eat. Each meal comes with coleslaw beans, tomato relish, cajun fries and hushpuppies. I ordered the 3 pc. The fillets weren’t that big and the sides aren’t that plentiful. So by the end of my meal I was actually still a bit hungry. It’s a good thing my grandmother didn’t want all of her food so I was able to steal some food from her plate. In fact, my uncle had ordered some Zwolle tamales. I had two of those too. The tamales were really good. A bit salty, but good flavor. I guess, if you want to feel full order at least a 4 pc. meal, if not more. All the food is lightly breaded so it’s not too fried. The french fries have a slighly spicy seasoning on them that livens them up. Also, you only get one cup of tartar sauce that quickly runs out. I went up to the counter to ask for more. I thought I was going to have to pay for it because the menu said extra tartar sauce cost $.50. Well, the girl just gave it to me. She said not to worry about it. So that was cool. The place isn’t fancy by any means. It’s a very casual/laid back place. There were a few TVs airing the Monday Night Football game. It wasn’t too crowded either. Shane’s also has a drive-thru. The staff here is really quick to get your order out. So you don’t have to wait long. Oh, and if you run out of soda or iced tea, there is a soda fountain near the ordering counter that you can refill your cups. The menu has a lot to choose from beyond catfish. You can also order shrimp, oysters, alligator, frog legs, po boys, stuffed crab, gumbo, tamales, crab legs, crab cakes, and desserts. When in season you can also order crawfish and crab live or boiled. In fact, they even offer up bbq. When we first arrived, I noticed one sign that told everyone that you could order cajun turkeys for Thanksgiving. Now, how’s that for a livened/spiced up turkey for the holidays.
