If you have to stay in Sierra Vista for any reason, stay here. The price was much lower than the hotel where we usually stay, so you would think it would be sub-par to a decent chain hotel. Wrong, it was excellent. The service was very friendly and efficient, I had to call several times because I was reserving five rooms and had some changes, Toyier(sp?) was very patient and beyond nice. The place is really pretty, the rooms are clean, large and quiet — the queen double rooms are super big. The beds were firm and comfortable. The breakfast was great, the dining room was nicely decorated. I can’t say enough about this place, everyone in our group loved it. If I ever need to be in the Sierra Vista area again, I will insist on Sierra Suites.

Stayed for two nights and loved it. The staff was great, the room was very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. We are coming back next month and will stay here again.

You know that hotel your momma warned you about? This is the one right next door. It’s a shame as the staff are kind and hardworking and genuinely want you to have a good stay but it’s an uphill battle. When we got there the pool and hot tub were out of order, there was pizza left in our rooms microwave and trash on the floor including an old hair clip. Also long black hair on the wall and tub. When we went to leave for dinner the door wouldn’t lock. The manager moves us, and did everything she could to remediate the inconvenience but it wasn’t a good stay. By breakfast there was little food left and no juice cups or coffee cups despite the best intentions of a sweet woman working there. The last straw was returning home after a long day to no water. Meaning no one could flush the toilet. After two hours or hearing just one more hour we left. The employees deserve a better place to work. Upgrade or charge HALF of what you are charging. Otherwise slap a hotel 6 sign on it and call it good. I bet it was lovely in 1988.

Stayed here for a week on a business trip. Pros: — Clean room, decent bed, though the décor and rooms overall could use a face lift. — Good complimentary breakfast buffet. it offered plenty of hot and cold options. each day was a little different. pancakes, sausage, bacon, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, eggs, etc. I was impressed. — Friendly staff — Nice pool area(that seemed empty most of the time, which I liked!) and the hot tub runs for a while. Cons: — Internet is SLOWASMOLASSES. I seriously could barely navigate basic websites like google or Facebook without each site timing out. it was almost as bad as dial-up, and very frustrating, especially as I was there for business and would have liked to work from my hotel room. — like I said the décor and overall feel of the room is very old. there was a bath mat in the shower that looked like it needed to be replaced.

To start, trying to navigate their website to book a room is a bit confusing… It would greatly benefit from a redesign… However, we were able to make the reservations we needed. We were offered the option to upgrade the room for $ 10.00 to include a sitting room. We decided it was worth the extra couple of bucks(for those of us who have insomnia). We were later glad we did! We arrived at the hotel at 3 am. Entering from the awning, we went inside the entryway. While the outer doors were open, the inner door was locked. Not to be unexpected at that time of night… We pressed the buzzer to the side of the door, but there was no answer. So, we called, and the concierge answered quickly. She gave us entry, and we were able to check in very quickly(even though we were a day early). We were given two key cards(she asked if we needed more, but we didn’t), and went on our way to our room. The hotel walkways were well-lit(and, at that late at night, it was needed) and clean. We used our keycard very easily, and entered our room. Everything was immaculate. The first room you entered was the seating area(that we paid an extra $ 10 for). It was a decent size, with a two-seat couch, a recliner, a TV stand with a flat wide-screen TV, and a small table with two chairs. Near the hallway, there was a sink area. Around this sink was a mini-fridge, microwave, and small coffee pot(complete with tea bags, Hawaiian coffee, and powdered creamer/sugar/stirring straw packets.) In the hallway was a two sliding-door closet, and the door to the bathroom. The bedroom is separated from the rest of the suite by a door(a great move to reduce the noise of the sitting room from the bedroom sleepers.) The bedroom had two beds, a TV, a six-drawer dresser(all the drawers opened easily), a closet with two sliding mirrored doors, and a night stand(with alarm clock that was missing the snooze button). We used the alarm clock a couple of times… I warn you, it is LOUD! Outside, in the center of the building was a nice little seating area. We did not get a chance to use the pool, but it was fairly small and close to the dining area. It was clean and had plenty of chairs to lounge in(great for parents to sit and watch while their children swim). Breakfast was fabulous! There was a wide variety of foods to choose from. Biscuits with sausage gravy, bagels, cereal, fruit… Just to name a few… The attendant was friendly, and courteous, asking us how everything was, and kept the tables clean. For a hotel breakfast, it was surprisingly good! The only negatives I had for this hotel are as follows… When they cleaned our room, they didn’t make sure we had a spare roll of toilet paper(we had to go to the front desk for more.) We had specifically asked for 4 towels on our reservations, but only had 3(we got one from the front desk reception desk with little trouble). And, someone was talking loudly outside our window one morning(which the hotel was not at fault for thoughtlessness of their other guests). If ever I pass that way again, I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

We were treated like gold at Sierra Suites and would go back there any time we are traveling in southern Arizona. I made a mistake in my reservation(inadvertently and unfortunately done through Travelocity) which caused a problem as soon as I walked in a said I had a reservation. Once we figured out the problem Irma at the desk got Glen, the manager, in on it. Glen dealt with my problem via phone with Travelocity in a very professional manner till it was resolved — a good 45 minutes later, and then some again in the morning. In the end we had with a better room and a better rate! The room was clean and comfortable with everything in working order. The breakfast was good: real eggs and bacon, fruit, yogurt, coffee, real creamer, real juice. Next time I plan to stay there, I’ll call them directly to book my reservation.

This place was fine for what it is. I’m a semi-annual business traveller and I have some expectations, but I’m pretty flexible. There are some pros and cons about this place that you all need to know. There is no elevator and no bell service. So, if you’re going to be more than a couple of days and you have a large suitcase, you’re going to have to lug it up the stairs if you get a room on the second floor. I’m not a spring chicken, anymore, so this was a major inconvenience since I had big luggage this trip. The free hot breakfast is delicious and ample. There are lots of healthy choices in addition to the not-so healthy but yummy. This is a defintely benefit to anyone on a budget. The hotel staff is hit and miss. They don’t have a list of restaurants that deliver, which, when you have to pull an all-nighter on your laptop in your room and can’t escape for chow at a restaurant kinda sucks. Instead of being proactive and gathering the information from surrounding restaurants, they lamely complain that they haven’t been«provided» this information by the restaurants. It also took two requests to get my receipt emailed to me. But, other staff members were very responsive and helpful — especially when the guest in the next room was *smoking* in a non-smoking wing. One big plus for me is FREE Internet access. They only have wi-fi in some rooms, but it was fast enough for me to get done what I needed to do. I like me some free Internet access!!! Especially when I have work to do. If you need to be around modern shopping and conveniences, this is not the place for you. If you want a neat, clean, charming place near the base that doesn’t have a lot of frills, this place is just fine.

I thought Sierra Suites was a great hotel for the Sierra Vista area. I was looking for a decent place to stay as close to Fort Huachuca base as possible, and this fit the bill as it was the nicest place so close to post. I received a corner room, which was huge, overlooking the pool. The employees were super helpful and very nice. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Most of the time you don’t get hot food, but I remember scrambled eggs and cheese, bacon, oatmeal, and the other typical hotel bfast foods. I enjoyed my time there, but was unfortunately visiting at a busy time, so they only had 1 night available for me.

Sierra vista isn’t known for their hotels. This was a nice clean place with good service. The place is dated though, and amenities were average at best. I may try a few other places before I stay here again, but I would not be against booking here at all.
