I have had three Five star services performed on my ’11 HHR 1) Wheel allgn 2) rear wheel hub assembly replacement 3) valve replacement (major repair) .I was getting a PO301 code and bought it to Herbs for a second opinion. Rodney (mgr) suggested he checked it out first before giving me a price .The price was close to my first estimate but, repair would take one week less meaning less car rental costs. Rodney kept me updated with the repair status, kept to the promised time frame and repair estimate .When I came of pick up my car Rodney walked me out. The car was not only detailed but, Rodney popped the hood and the engine compartment looked factory clean .I was humbled by this amount of service. Bringing a car for repairs is never easy but,” Rock n Roll” Rodney makes it enjoyable. He is friendly, low key, listens and is honest .You don’t mind spending money on repairs if the work is done right You can count on that with Rodney and Mechanics Jake and Francisco

I am going to have to take my rating down a couple of notches. I refereed my boyfriend to Herb’s because he needed his clutch & breaks fixed on his older truck a 1963 Chevy S10, he knew about my experience there so we thought all would be good.
Though the estimate came in high (Around $ 2,300, my bf knows what it takes to do the work and would of done it himself but all his tools are in another State) we figured since they did such a good job with my Jeep & they had the truck apart that it wouldn’t be worth it to take it all over to get other quotes. I was wrong, and my boyfriend now regrets the decision. The work should of taken about a week (Per the Shop), but ended up taking two. Then they had called and told him his truck would be ready by late Thursday, but he informed them he wouldn’t be available since he had a flight later that day. We said we could pick up Saturday, but they are not open on the weekend so Monday it would have to be.
Monday rolls around and we come by right when they open 7ish (AM), and the truck was not ready and apparently had not been put back together since someone decided to work on it over the weekend and whoever was there didn’t know when it would be ready. So I let my BF borrow my car and had him drop me off at work, then they decided to call a couple of hours later and inform him that is truck was actually ready.
The inconvenience, the lack of proper notice & information with the price tag it just wasn’t worth it and boyfriend said for what he had paid he would never take another care their to get worked on. It is very unfortunate since I love supporting a local business, but not when they stick it to the locals… It was really disappointing. I will give them 3 stars, since my experience was not as bad, but certainly not the same that my bf received.

I’m extremely pleased with my experience at herbs automotive. After hitting a curb, I needed to find a pace to repair my Honda element. I read reviews of several places and decided to go with herbs. I can see exactly why they have nothing but positive reviews. Rodney made sure to keep me updated on the status of the repair. They didn’t try to do sell me anything else besides what I needed done. The staff here is all honest and friendly. I’ve found my new place to bring my cars for repairs

Accidents happen, but not all body shops are created equal. Jake made my car look better than new.

These guys are the best! Not only do I feel comfortable taking my car there for repairs because they know what they are doing… after being in business for over 40 years but I TRUST that they will take good care of my car and me.
I have owned several cars during the many years I’ve known them. My current car has over 80K and still running well but when the time comes for me to look into another car, I will contact Rodney (Manager at Herb’s) to help me with my next car purchase as he did with the car I currently drive. He knows so many people in the industry and was able to recommend a dealer for the purchase of my car. I love my car and I appreciate Rodney’s help.
Most of us have several problems to face daily. It’s good to know that when it comes to your car… Herb’s will lessen your load by taking care of any of your car problems.

I’m such a car enthusiast, as a matter of fact I am the Advertising Operatioins Coordinator for some of americas favorite car magazines such as Motor Trend, Automobile, Hot Rod, Street Rodder, just to name a few. November 6^th 2015 at approximatly 9:56PM I was driving home from a work event when I was involved in a head on collision right off the 55 on Dyer Rd in Santa Ana Ca. I suffered from a concussion and broke my wrist in three places spending the night in the hospital not to mention my brand new Honda Accord was ruined, the whole front and side crushed after I spun out. Surprisingly my insurance did not total my car because the damaged was less then what it was worth seeing I recently purchased the car. I was referred to Herbs Automotive by a co worker on my editorial staff saying they were quick and amazing when it comes to customer service especially dealing with insurance companies and repairs. I quickly called the shop and spoke with Jake the owner he was super professional and had my car towed to his shop right away. I explained to him seeing the accident was deemed my fault my car insurance would not pay for a rental so I would need my car asap. I just got my car back yesterday and it looked amazing, I was in shock, it looked so good just like the day I drove it off the lot. I usually don’t write reviews but had to after the job they did and how quick they did it in, because they finished in a week. I was super impressed by the level of customer service and how awesome of a job they did. I just want to say thank you to Herbs Automotive and their entire staff. I highly recommend them :)

Well since my other review was taken down, here is another review. Please read before going to herbs automotive Jake don’t care about his customers he only cares about how much money he can make .he says you are paying for quality when it’s no different then any other shop. What you are paying for is a shop that is cleaner than others that’s it. This shop marks up it’s parts 30% or more from your local part stores around the neighborhood. Beware of diagnosis here at this shop you will still have to pay for the parts and labor even if it was misdiagnosed it will be made seem like you needed it to find the real problem. Beware of alignments they charge for 4wheel alignments on all cars an trucks when only 2wheel alignments can be performed because there is no adjustment on some of the cars and most trucks and SUV’s. Beware of the service advisor Rodney, he brags around the shop «he can sell ice to an Eskimo» and he is proud of this. Rodney and Jake goal is to sell $ 500.00 of work on every car so upselling is pushed very strongly. Also Rodney is a womanizer.

If I could give this place more stars I would. Rodney is amazing and his staff is just as amazing!!! Being a woman it is hard to find people you trust. Rodney takes the time to explain everything so that you really understand what’s going on. I recommend this place to anyone. Keep up the great work

I must say, I do not know anything about my car.
So ever since I noticed that my car shakes when I’m going over 70 in the freeway, I had to get it check.
I had to get my tires aligned and balanced.
With Unilocal’s help, I came to Herb’s Automotive. It’s a family run and we met Rodney.
They test drive my car and after the whole aligning and balancing, the worker said it got better.
However, Rodney said that I have to go back and get a new lower right bushing. His free quote is about $ 400.
Called my dad about it and his friend fixed my car for about 25% of what Rodney was supposed to charged me. With a new lower right bushing with labor added.
Herb’s guys are knowledgeable but I was lucky enough that my dad’s friend fixed my car.

I have really learned to trust Unilocal,especially when a company has an abundance of 5 star reviews.
I wanted my next classic car purchase to represent Detroit at its zenith, before the USA was flooded with imports and right before catalytic coverters became mandatory. Big block, big cars with miles of steel and unique styling. You know, when a Pontiac looked like a Pontiac and before the Mustang II rolled off the assembly line. So, I took my time to find an original, unrestored Olds Toronado from the early 70s. It was also the car my Dad had always talked about and wanted when i was growing up. Dad was a lot like the Pabst beer drinking character Clint Eastwood played in the movie Gran Torino, a Welder, WW2 paratrooper, Battle of the Bulge and D Day survivor, who wanted a new Olds but could not afford one.
Now that I had my perfect car, I needed to find my perfect repair shop. The auto shop with mechanics that have gasoline running in their veins, passionate about working and preserving classic cars, fair in pricing, easy to work with. I am a common man, I’m not entering the car at Pebble Beach Concours nor have the deep pockets of Jay Leno.
I worked with Jake, he is the best and have no doubt in my mind he knows what he is doing. He is sharp, articulate and my Oldsmobile’s newest best friend. Jake inspected my car from bumper to bumper and developed a plan to keep her preserved and maintained. We took care to repair all safety items first then moved on to priority 2 repairs.
I found Herbs Auto Repair to be everything and more that I was hoping for. It is a complete facility as they can take care of modifications, customization, paint, you name it.
If you have a classic car or really any car that you care about and need diagnostics and repairs done right the first time look no further.

Brought my Chevy 2500 diesel in here for a wheel alignment. They got me right in at my appointment time and got me out of there in about an hour. They noticed my brake lights weren’t working and spent about 30 minutes figuring out the problem and fixing it without charging me. I’ll definitely be back!

I Love this place as a car guy and an amateur mechanic! I would only bring my car here to these guys for the work I cannot do to my vehicle myself. I’d rather pay good money for quality work than pay for crappy work. They’re honest and hard working guys I own a 1987 S-​10 Blazer and I don’t trust anyone to work on my car but me. Also I see the quality in the work that they do, so I know I can trust Herbs Automative to repair my car. If I could give more than a 5 star rating I would; also they are very respectful and don’t give you any BS of you need this or that they are just straight to the point! I’d recommend this shop to anyone with new or old vehicles.

Ahhhh, these guys saved my life. My window wouldn’t roll up in my VW beetle, and someone recommended me this place and I’m glad they did.

Now let me just say, I don’t know much about cars, car parts, etc., but I do know the difference between great service versus «pimping you into getting other services». And here my friends, at Herb’s, you have great service!
The staff were very informative and explained what needed to be done. they made sure to tell me «I’m not trying to make you get any additional services done, but I just want to let you know about your vehicle.» I really appreciated that because you have some places that tries to get over (especially people like me who doesn’t know anything about cars and what’s needed and what’s not needed) by recommending and eventually bullying you to get more work done on your vehicle. I came here to get a wheel alignment, and within 1 hour they were done.
I will be bringing my car here whenever I need work done.

The people there were Friendly and accomodating. I got my 2008 VW GTI wheel alignment done here. They were able to fix the camber issues I was having. I got my maintenance and transmission flush done here. They go by the book, very reasonable and low prices, and great service. I live right near this place and I’m kicking myself wondering why I never went sooner.

A true asset to the Auto repair industry here in LB/​Sig Hill, Herb’s continues to save the day, take care of business, and leave me satisfied every time. Although there is an abundance of testosterone flowing through the place, don’t be put off by it. They know their stuff, have the tools and equipment, and the knowledge to get stuff done. I ‘ve had alignments, mechanical work, ac service, mounting and balancing of tires, and a bunch of other stuff I don’t remember, done here.
They value their work, and your vehicle and it shows.

Best service in town. This time they mounted and balanced new tires, did a transmission service, and aligned my truck.

Seriously, as good as it gets. The friendly service there was so pleasant and I could not have asked for a better experience. They are tucked away in an industrial area, but it’s not hard to find once you’ve been there. They’ve been in business for quite a while and their shop is very clean.
They have a random barber chair in their waiting room and I did not have to wait long for my alignment to be completed. They got me in right away and were extremely friendly. I enjoyed coming here and will bring my car back if it ever needs service. Highly recommended.
