Hands down the best! The name of his company truly represents the experience.

Great masseur! Recommend him — especially for the athletic type who may have tight muscles or knots. I forget to stretch when I workout a lot and I spend most of my time sitting because I have an «office job.» Very friendly and welcoming. Knows what he is doing. I almost fell asleep during the massage!
And he is very reasonably priced. A+. I will be coming back! Discount for first time clients too!

Wow! I am so impressed with the knowledge and skill that Hassam possesses. Magic in Hands is Hassam Khan who massages out of a personal training gym. I was in a lot of pain the day I went in. I drive for a living and on the especially gruesome days I find my neck and back pretty uncooperative. I was desperate as my chiropractic office wasn’t open so I called the number on Unilocal.
When I went in I had a brief assessment of where my pain is and what kind of injuries I have as well as medications I’m taking. He then spent a great deal of time addressing an injury I’ve had that many doctors have seemed to brush off as nothing serious but has caused me a great deal of pain. He took the time to explain all the techniques he used and what the outcome should be. He was able to explain which muscles were being overused as he massaged me and we were able to evaluate my lifestyle to see how I could change my habits to avoid further injury.
Overall, I am extremely happy I went here. Am I cured? No. I’m still in pain as I have been but I’m definitely much better in the shoulder area he worked on and I’m hopeful that it will lead to a larger range of motion over time.
He had a great special of $ 45 for an introductory appt and $ 40 per visit if I bought 4 for the month which I jumped at. If you’re looking for a clinician who can help increase your range of motion and alleviate some pain in your problem areas I would highly recommend making an appt. It was much more of a physical therapy focused massage rather than the kind you would get at a fancy spa.

We lived two miles from a massage school and used to go there all the time for discount massages. When we moved to SoCal and discovered Hassam, I think we definitely get more than our money’s worth with his work.
Hassam handles the knots and the imbalances and also works with stretching. He will also give feedback when my training is not as balanced as it should be. Because he has a fitness perspective, he watches closely to be sure the right and the left are the same.
I did a professional visit to one of the US Olympic Training Centers and they use massage and manipulation to keep their customers in top form. From what I have experienced with Hassam, I can say that he keeps me in the best shape.

I had been thinking about getting a massage for a while and after seeing «Magic in Hands» was right here in Signal Hill, I decided to check them out.
It turns out «Magic» is one guy, Hassam Khan who rents a space in a small, personal training gym. His primary focus is therapeutic /​sports /​post trauma massage, but he will also do relaxation as well.
When I first arrived Hassam asked me a number of questions:
Why did I want a massage?
Have I had a professional massage before and if so, what type?
Did I have any physical issues or problems to be addresses by the massage?
What type of massage did I want?
As well as other questions I don’t remember.
I’ve had professional massages before, but other than «what type of massage» most other places asked little else. He was very thorough in assessing what type of massage I needed and I really appreciated that. As he was massaging, he was still assessing me as he asked some surprisingly «focused» question like: «Do you cross your legs at the ankles?» and «Do you keep your left arm on the armrest or up on the door while you drive?» plus others. This surprised me because he could tell this by what he felt in my muscles.
After my 70 minute massage, I asked what «techniques» he used on me and he said «a combination of deep tissue, sports and relaxation». I’ve never had a «deep tissue» massage because I was expecting it to be painful, but it wasn’t.
COST: 70 minute massage for $ 60. I believe for new customers (in my case anyway) he only charges $ 45.
OVERALL: This guy knows his stuff! I was impressed by how he assessed me both before and during the massage. While it was not a «Swedish massage» and I didn’t fall asleep, it was still very relaxing and he almost had to pour me into my car so I could drive the 8 blocks home!

Khan is great. You will be greated with a warm smile and great karma! Once he starts his massage you will understand why he calls it Magic in Hands — those hands are soft — magical and effective. I have had several massages from Khan, and would highly recommend him! You will not be disappointed.
