Cory is an awesome possum! I moved to Long Beach a year ago ready to get back in shape in a new town. I found Cory’s Cardio Kickboxing class via Meetup. I was a little apprehensive about attending the class because I never thought that I could last a hour doing high intensity cardio routines. BELIEVE OR NOT! I have come to build my stamina over the past year and now can workout through the entire class. The best part about the class is that EVERY DAY there’s always a new circuit, so you will never be bored. I guess his cruel and unusual way of thinking up of these insane circuits has a positive spin because he whips us into shape REAL FAST! THANKS CORY!

Fun workout and definitely a place to get your stress out in a healthy way for $ 8/​hour. After a the kickboxing workout, I already really felt stronger and my confidence level increased. Cory is a great instructor and makes an effort to get to know everyone. He ensures that each session is different from the last. There may be the basic moves like jabs and kicks but the conditioning part is usually different.
There are boxing gloves available to borrow (roughly 10 pairs). Usually there are about 3 – 7 people per class so there are enough gloves since others also bring their own. Don’t come late otherwise you’ll have to wait for the next session.
Overall, glad I found this place. I would recommend this to anyone looking to change their workout and has always wanted to try kickboxing!

I was weighing between getting another gym membership but decided to try out the Cardio Kickboxing class and it was freakin awesome. I have gone from Cross Country, Track and Field, Tennis, Rock Climbing but this class kicked my butt. I will definitely be going every weekend now because it was fun to be able to punch those bags as hard a I want and I got a great workout. Also I agree with the other reviewers even though I’ve only met a few people at my first class but the people and the place is super chill. My arms are still pretty sore as I am typing this =). The class is one hour long, but super fun and it keeps your heart pumping which made the hour pass by pretty fast because an hour of working out at the gym has always been pretty boring for me which is why I quit the last gym.

Haha, I had to laugh, I saw Sarah’s comments after I wrote mine and noticed how similar they were. Cory’s no joke… it’s true.
Working with Cory has changed the way I see fitness and the way I see myself. There were things he had me doing in weeks time that I never thought possible. He sat down with me and made a meal plan, a workout plan for my off days, as well as new and tailored workouts every time I came in (which kept me on my toes… seriously, no joke). Cory always believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And I watched while he would train more advanced people in why a certain exercise was important, or how to fine tune or heighten something they were already doing. Everyone was challenged at their own level, and being able to see the more advance people helped motivate me more to want to get to where they were. Cory made me feel like he was truly invested in me and my workouts. And that made all the difference.
The gym is neat, with every type of fitness toy or gauge, most of which I didn’t even know existed until I started here. The people are really chill laid back people. Some of the other gyms I’ve worked at I kind of feel awkward, especially being a woman in the weights section. But here I noticed people look out for one another. I know it sounds cheesy, but you have to see it I guess.
Basically I’ve worked out at three different gyms before this one and didn’t know that working out could be like this. You should defiantly go in and give it a shot.

I have been training with Cory since July of ’08 and have felt and seen great results. I joined because I did not know where to start. The workouts are never the same boring routines it is consistently changing. He has also created a food menu/​diet plan for me which WORKS! Cory starts you at your level and works WITH you. Before I knew it, I was doing things I never thought I could. It’s great! Scary part is, I now look forward to my workouts with him!
About the gym, it is warm, friendly, clean, a makeup of different fitness levels and best of all, everyone is there to workout… You don’t have the creepy wonders that are there to hit on the chicks. This is not your typical gym!
If you are ready to get in shape, this is your man!

There are not enough good things to say about Cory, owner and trainer, at Dynamic Fitness Training. He’s personable, he cares, and he whips you into shape. Really nothing more than you could ask for in a gym or a trainer. I’ve trained both one on one with him and done his classes, he really knows his stuff and you can ask him about anything and he’s always happy to help. If you’re looking for an AMAZING workout and hoping to leave feeling positive and on the right track, this is the place for you.
