Ron’s Lube N’ Tune

If you need a quick oil change at a «moderate» price, with reasonable service time, Ron’s lube n tune is an OK place to go. parking is a hassle since it is very busy, so one would think that it would be a great reliable repair shop too. But if you get any other work done there and I mean ANY other work, they are sneaky and back handed and they do NOT disclose their policies of warranty regarding labor and parts until you are $ 1,600 into a repair job that THEY did 3 weeks before and are charging you $ 100 bucks AGAIN to diagnose the issue THEY WERE PAID TO FIX. I was floored when they allowed the car to leave the shop with a check engine light on initially saying a vauge answer regarding the «computer just needing to reset»!!! So, i had to pay for another part AND labor TWICE! Plus, dont dare show up after 8am and expect RON to give you the time of day. Sure can move those smogs and lubes in and out but you cant tell me what a code means when my check engine light comes on? Its a 5 minute issue. Nope. That would be too much like: RIGHT. Gotta dole out more cash. Seems to me that customer service and integrity and pride of workmanship just died for RON. Crap work, no accountability, and youre rude??? Now, the bbb of automotive repair just got another load of paperwork with YOUR name on it RON. Just lost my business, and my respect, and I’ll see you in court. Buyer beware. Had an oil change done on my vehicle at Ron’s lube n tune and was impressed on how fast the guys there knocked it out. Will be coming back with my other cars.

I recently moved to Long beach and decided to give this shop a shot to have the throttle body cleaned on my 2010 Mitsubishi. I told the service guy that I went to a Mitsubishi dealer and they said I need to have my throttle body cleaned (I didn’t get it done at the dealer because the service cost was way outside my budget) my car makes noises when the Throttle body is dirty, service guy repeats back okay so you want a fuel injection service I said I need the throttle body cleaned he replies okay fuel injection service like a wise guy. I decided okay sure if that’s what it takes to get the throttle body cleaned. I come back an hour later to pick up my car I take my car for a drive to see if the noise was gone not only was the noise worse but I had to end up taking it to the repair shop I used in orange county I was told it was never cleaned and showed me how dirty it was. I got it cleaned at the repair shop in the OC now my car is back to running smoothly. Moral of the story I gave Ron’s Lube in LB off PCH $ 60 to basically dump who knows what in my fuel tank. Please take caution when using this place. I did go back the day of the service to let them know I was not satisfied with the service and of course the guy that helped me was a total wise guy tired to blame it completely on the fuel I put in my car.

The only people I trust with my car. Richard is always really nice. On my recent visit I got my brakes done and an oil check. The price was around $ 200 which I thought was good. Bought my car in around 9. Got a call around 2 saying it was ready. If you want good service and fair prices. See Ron or Richard !

Always quick and friendly service with an oil change. Since I’ve moved here to LB, I don’t go anywhere else! This is the place to get great service :)

Woah! I’ve been paying $ 60 for an oil change here when I could have been paying $ 33 at Toyota just gotta wait longer.

Not only did I pay $ 181.00 for a service that was NOT fixed I had the worse experience from the «owner» he was very unprofessional stated I was rude when I was simply being upset of the way he was speaking to me. Not once did I raise my voice or insulted him, but yet he said he had plenty of business so he did not need to fix my car. According to him the vehicle was fix due to what I told him was wrong… I’m Not a mechanic i let him know what I see and PAID for the service BUT my vehicle is still over heating and he mentioned that he will not fix anything else Because I was on my phone while he was helping me. Also stated that he was not Going to fix my car because I was not a priority customer I should of been at the shop early and in was at the shop at 8:20am and they open at 8:00 called 3 times for an update and he tells me to call at 4:00 when they close at 5:00pm and I work and one hr away and leave my car keys at a pizza place ! Never will I go again and suggest that everyone thinks twice be for getting the car fixed at this shop.

Quick, friendly, and honest. Really appreciate being able to take my cars to this business. Their quality and speed meet what I look for in taking care of the standard maintenance. The friendliness is a much appreciated, added bonus.

Ron and the crew are great. Even the younger white guy that doesn’t like to talk much, he’s okay too. Very honest people. I’ve even sent my gf in by herself and they don’t try to add needless services on. I asked them to flush the transmission on my Lexus, and instead of doing it and taking my money, they said you know that’s not really recommended. Who says that? Honest Ron and his crew that’s who. Great people and reasonable

Went in for an oil change and the service was fast. Showed them my $ 3 coupon and they accepted it no questions asked.

I went in for a smog check. Everyone was very polite and professional. Work was quick and priced fairly.

Recently one of my power windows failed on my 2002 Cadillac. Rons took care of the problem at a reasonable price. It’s not the first time I’ve had work done there and each time myself and a friend can only say positive things about the work and the character of the employees. No one enjoys having to have automotive repairs but Rons makes it palatable. My intention is to continue making this my first choice and I’ve shared my experience with friends.

I have a really bad experience in this place I buy a nissan car on PCH auto sales the has a major leaking oil I turn back the car to the dealer and then they send the car to this place, the car was there for 2 or 3 days they call me the car is ready once I pick up the car everything looks fine but when I running the car for one day omg car still leaking I brought the car once again they don’t do anything about it car still leaking the worse thing the dealer pays for the job for nothing and I have to pay out of my pocket to get the car fixed in another place…

I was a pretty die-​hard «Valvoline Instant Oil Change» customer until I came here. After recently finding a Group-​On for 50% off for Valvoline, I went to my usual for service. Turned out that Group-​On was only valid 24 hours AFTER you purchased it. I was pretty upset as that was the only day I had to take care of it.
My husband recommended this place and I was SO happy for it! They performed all the same quick services as Valvoline without all the ridiculous shouting of actions or pressured up-​selling of additional products/​services.
The only thing I could even remotely ding this place for is that parking kinda sucks but then that’s par for the course in Long Beach.
They definitely have a new customer in me!

I came for an oil change. Filled out the form. Man says «$ 135». I say «No thanks, that is too expensive». He says «Too late, we’ve already emptied out your oil.»
NOT COOL.
I wanted to have my oil changed elsewhere and asked him to put my oil back in but he said he can’t.
He ended up putting in a cheaper oil that damaged my motor and I had to have it replaced by my dealership.
PS checking in gives you a discount but it’s NOT WORTH IT. Take your business to the awesome Valvoline down the street!

I had an awful experience here. I’m not sure where all the glowing reviews of this place came from, but it certainly was not my experience.
I pulled in and after a few minutes Richard walked to my window and asked what I needed. I told him I was there for an oil change and he said he’d have to move some cars around. He then walked over to a car that had pulled in behind me. Another few minutes passed and he came back to tell me he was going to move the cars occupying the center lane and then I was supposed to pull in. Ok. He moves the cars and then motions for the girl who pulled in AFTER me to pull her car in first… WTF!!!
He then motioned for me to pull in behind her and I said «I thought I was next??» and he says with a hint of sarcasm «You are». So I’m next after you take the person that pulled in after I did. Great. Wonderful customer service. I kinda wanted to leave at this point but I really needed an oil change and all the Unilocal reviews I had read about this place said they were quick and they even claim a 10 minute lube, so I decided to wait. After 30 minutes of sitting behind the car that had cut ahead of me I decided that I was not going to give this place my money. They are rude and have no respect for people’s time. What business arbitrarily takes customers without regard to who arrived first?
So, thanks to Ron’s Lube N Tune, all in all 40 minutes of my time was wasted and I still need an oil change. I guess that’s what I get for not driving the extra distance to my usual place that are actually quick, respectful and never let me down. Lesson learned.

I hate worrying about car maintenance. Absolutely, without a doubt my least favorite thing on the planet.
I read the reviews for Ron’s and they were great. But I was suspicious. If it seems too to good to be true, than… You know… but decided to give it a shot.
I was so impressed! Professional and personable. I will return and recommend!

This is the place if you have a little baby and need oil change. They are fast reasonable! Awesome customer service and you don’t have to get out of the car! Bonus! So happy I found them.

You can bring in your own oil and filter and the oil change is only 16. The actual oil change time was about 10 minutes. Very quick service.
Another place I called did not allow me to bring my own oil, which is a deal breaker for me. I will be coming back here again.
