This place is awful. They will over charge u for all the services. I will never go back there again.

RIPOFF. BEWARE. The bf & I used to come here all the time, to get our quick karaōke fix when we didn’t feel like driving all the way to VA. This past Saturday, we finally went. We sat in the first room on the left. Let me go over the«features» of the room /karaōke machine. — It was blazing hot in there, I had to strip down into my tank top.(Yes we complained, no change) — Smelled like burning food(The entire time) — Out of date karaōke machine and songs — Cord on the mic, woah old school! — Greasy remote.(I cleaned it off with a Lysol wipe) The icing on the cake was when it was time to leave. We were there for 1 hour and 20 minutes, did not eat or drink anything, and the total was $ 82. I heard the bartenders and the owners going back and forth in Korean talking about how much they should charge. It started at 65, then 70, then $ 75. I just gave them the benefit of the doubt, assuming that there was some confusion. But $ 82…This is unheard of!!! It has ALWAYS been $ 30 an hour. So I told the owner that we always pay $ 30 an hour, and when the prices have changed. She advised that it was always this price– $ 50 an hour. After asking questions, I found out the owners have changed. You would think if there were changes to prices, it would be listed somewhere. NOPE. I read over the good reviews for this place… Mostly from people that have never been to a private room karaōke. GOTOANNANDALEPEOPLE! I refuse to pay $ 50 an hour to smell like burnt food when I leave. The owner did apologize, saying the cook forgot to use the kitchen fan. *****Most karaōke places in Annandale are $ 30/hr, but if you order a bottle of liquor, it’s usually free for two hours. At some places, it’s even less that you have to spend for free karaōke.

This place is legit. True hole in the wall, where you get your bang for your buck. Awesome place to come with friends and get loose. Staff is super nice, and food is really good. If you like Korean fried chicken like Bonchon, then you guys should order their wings! Their fried chicken is one of the best in the area. and this is coming from a Korean guy that loves American or Korean fried chicken. They also have other Korean snacks you could order that are just as good. Drinks are the standard price. If you want to come on weekends you better call-in and reserve, cause rooms get filled quickly. How this place is not more well known around the area baffles me…

Showed up at 7pm with a bunch of friends — waited outside for over half an hour, and it never opened. No one answered the phones, there is no voicemail set up, and there were no signs or notices on the door. Would never recommend.

I’m giving this place a really horrible rating mostly because I felt the management ripped us off when it was time to leave, and also for the drug paraphernalia lying in the bathroom as though intended for guest use.(I’m not kidding — razor blade, 2 lighters, and a bobby pin neatly lined up.) The sad thing is, if not for those problems, I would have become a regular, as would all of the people I went with. I think it was a first karaōke experience for everyone in our party, and we had a great time singing and dancing in the private room. Even though the karaōke machine was in Korean, we figured it out pretty quickly and had no trouble finding lots of songs we liked. The Korean videos on the TV were just kitschy icing on the cake. The party lighting and tambourines in the room were fun. The problem was that this place has no posted rates anywhere. They don’t have a website, and when I called to make the reservation, they told me there wasn’t a room rental fee — just food and beverage. To me, that made sense. As long as you buy enough food and drink, you shouldn’t have to pay for the room. When I arrived, I didn’t double check this policy and there was no room rental rate posted anywhere in or near the room. When we went to leave after a few hours, we were told that the room rental was actually $ 40 per hour + 18% gratuity. That gratuity was on top of both the room rental and the food and beverage. And, to add to the problem, the bar doesn’t usually stock wine, but went to the liquor store next door to get some when a few people in my party asked for it. Again, we failed to establish the price up front and were taken advantage of — double the price that would have been charged for the same bottle at any other bar or restaurant. By the end of the evening, I was convinced that the whole place must be making its money off something illegal, because there weren’t enough patrons to keep the place going and they weren’t doing anything to encourage repeat business. We ended up charged more than double our expectation, which made enemies of us all. It would have been so much smarter of this bar to charge us fairly. Each of us would have brought other groups back there eventually. They could have made much more money in the long run by being transparent and fair with their pricing.

READTHISFIRST! This place has a lot of potential and if you prepare well you’ll have an amazing time. We went hoping to eat but they only offered us a handwritten menu with a few options that seemed more expensive than their actual menu. We got the wings($ 20) and fries($ 8), which was pretty silly. I say, eat somewhere else before you come. Also I second that the mixed drinks were a little weak and the price was once again a little wishy washy(the guy told me $ 7 but then tried to charge $ 8). Go with the beer or drink before you go. Lastly, to make paying easy, bring cash so you can split the room however many ways and then just have individuals open tabs for their individual drinks. This will save you lots of time and math at the end of the night. Anyway, we spent 4 hours on a Friday night here and it was a lot of fun. The music videos are weird and apparently there’s a porn option? But that’s neither here nor there…

So, we went to this place to have a little bit of bday karaōke fun. We wanted to hit a place in dc however, you have to make reservations at least a week in advance and since this was a last minute thing, we decided to go somewhere out of the city.
Thankfully, this place had availability and we were ready to go. An employee even called my cell when we were running late just to verify we were coming. We had originally said 10 people however, after all was said and done, it ended up being just 3 of us. Though they were expecting a bigger party, they accommodated us with a smaller room. The room was clean with laser lighting and a tambourine(sweeet!). The attendant gave us a quick tutorial on the machine since the instructions were in Korean, placed a plastic bowl of pretzels on the table and let us have at it! This place was fun however, after having been to other karaōke places, i expected a little more. You can’t order in the room, you must go out to the bar to order drinks. The bar is extremely limited on what they have. There are no food menus since theres only fried chicken and french fries both of which i had no interest in eating. We asked for water and they gave us 3 Styrofoam cups and a plastic container, used to keep cereal fresh full of water(most homemade thing i have ever seen any establishment do). After singing a few favs: Genia in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera, Helena by My Chemical Romance and Deja Vu by Beyonce, i felt my mission was accomplished. This place has all the ingredients to be great but, they definitely need to TURNUP bigtime.

There’s a lot to like about Color Music Studio — the staff was was nice and helpful, the private rooms were fun and clean, and oh… it’s right in my neighborhood! I’ve been walking by this place for years, and only realized it was a karaōke place about six months ago. We finally found an excuse to go, and I’m so glad we did! I like the private room concept — you can look like an idiot while singing, but only in front of your friends. :) for some unknown reason, you can order beer in your room, but if you want hard liquor you need to go to the bar outside — kind of inconvenient. Also, the liquor prices are really high for a small pour, which was kind of sucky. Be aware that some of the staff speak no English, so it can be hard to get help with the karaōke machine or the bar. Overall it was a fun night, and one that I hope to repeat soon.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review but I has to because this place was awesome! I came here with fifteen friends and we got a private room. It was clean, super cheap and the staff was really friendly. They even brought us free popcorn and pretzels! The drinks were a little weak but stick to beer and you’ll be fine. Good music selection, perfect for a big group of friends ready to sing!

Apparently I’m not the only person out there who’s stumbled upon this place but having been coming here for years now(about six of them) I’ve decided to bestow patron status upon myself and thus write a review to give it a shout-out. If you’ve never done private-room karaōke, you’re late, cause it’s really awesome. If you think you need substances in your system in order to belt out some Killers or uh, Ace of Base(in my case), then they’ll bring your adult beverages right to your room! There’s nothing more fun than doing private-room karaōke with a group of your friends and people can come hang out on the comfy vinyl couches whether they choose to grab a mike or not. The experience will cost you about $ 35/hour so the more folks you bring, the cheaper the bill — and you can stay 2, 3, 4 hours without noticing the time fly by. I know I didn’t actually provide any helpful information but bring cash, learn to search the menu by artist(the folks who work there will help you, as everything is in Korean), there’s extra parking behind Max’s(the falafel place on the end of the same strip mall), the staff are really helpful and will attend to your needs(new batteries for the mike, turning on the AC, searching for songs, etc.) and the place looks somewhat shady from the outside but is a perfectly great establishment. Enjoy!

Just took a bunch of old high school friends out to this place. It’s awesome! Totally confusing Korean karaōke equipment, but that’s part of the charm. Very nice hosts, and they provided popcorn and pretzel sticks for our group. YEAHYEAHYEAHPRIVATEKARAOKE.

HOLEINTHEWALL! ^_____^ I had so much fun here. The rooms are themed by famous cities/countries, which is different from what I’ve seen before. The rooms are pretty spacious and the seating is comfortable. It’s one of your standard Korean Karaōke places, but they put a poster of the remote in English(so now I can use the remote wherever I go!). Oh, did I mention they have a FULLBAR!!! That’s pretty much a first for me. Usually it’s just Soju, Beer, and/or wines, but this place had full on liquors. And they make pretty good mixed drinks from their menu. This karaōke place is great and not super busy, like other I’ve been to. I’d highly recommend it, but it is somewhat hard to find(hence being a hole in the wall).

Just went here this past weekend with a group of friends, and we had a blast! This place is awesome with great service! The staff was accommodating and came in whenever we had trouble with the technology. They brought us free popcorn and even gave us a discount in the end! The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable with a great selection of songs! We drank and sang some 90’s songs! Highly recommend checking out this intimate karaōke spot, give it a shot and you’ll have a great time!

I was looking for a good Korean noraebang experience and by golly, I got it. Lasers, tambourines, the whole 9 yards. The system is exactly the same as a Korean one, with the added bonus of translations for the controller posted to the wall(though it certainly helps to read Korean). It’s only about a 10 minute walk from the Wheaton metro, which was a huge plus. Be sure to go out the Kiss & Ride parking garage side! It will save you a lot of time. The song catalogue was good — although the Korean song selection was not as up to date as I was hoping(I wanted to sing Big Bang’s Blue) — but it had all my favorites and that’s what matters! We didn’t get any of the free tablefood that was mentioned, but we did pay for fried chicken and fries, which were phenomenal. Their fried chicken tastes just like the way they do it at Takoya in Korea — crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fries were also great, and came on a huge platter. When it was all said and done, the bill was $ 150 for 6 people + food singing for about 3 hours. A bit pricey(but I’m comparing this to Korea where these places are everywhere) but SO worth it if you’re craving a bit of classic Korean style karaōke. The best part of the night was walking out at midnight to the bar area and finding a group of middle-aged Korean men and women drinking and singing sappy old-school Korean love ballads. Classic!!!

Cool place to go belt out a few songs with friends in a private room. I thought the prices were reasonable. $ 30 for a decent sized room. They were missing a few songs I like to sing but other than that its a great place to go break a few eardrums.

I LOVETHISPLACE. It is a karaōke gem. They’ve got private karaōke rooms of varying sizes for your renting pleasure(cheap when split among friends), as well as a front karaōke room that I’ve never seen anybody actually use. Well, no, correction, one time there was a middle-aged guy earnestly crooning a song in Korean to an audience of 0(not including the bartender). Inspiring! Anyway, the heart and soul of this place are the private rooms, which have couches around the walls, blasting speakers, and colorful disco lights. I think they even provide tambourines(though it’s possible my friends have just been bringing those every time?). Waitstaff will happily deliver alcohol to your room without blinking an eye at the sweaty, enthused singers and dancers shouting song lyrics and gyrating on couches as they revel in the fact that no one outside their private utopia can see them making asses of themselves. My favorite part of the whole setup is the tv screens that display lyrics over random korean music videos. As in, the videos bear no relevance whatsoever to the song being sung. One memorable example: the Beatles’ «Yellow Submarine» playing over a video depicting the story of a young asian woman whose two lovers discover each other and engage in a brutal, slow-motion fight that leaves both dead while the object of their affection cries in a pool of blood amongst an inexplicable shower of flower petals. So awesome. The song selection is massive, and the binders come in both English and Korean. Oh, and yes, it’s in a mildly shady Wheaton strip mall.

Oh gosh! I can’t believe I’d forgotten to review this! First off, I’ve been here about 4 times, and had a wonderful experience each time. Lemme start out by saying that the management is a riot! And its not because they don’t know what they’re doing but because of their mannerisms/dress/style/demeanor. When I went, the manager had on platform-ish dress shoes and a suit jacket/overcoat with fur-trim lapels. So from that you already know you’re going to have a good time. I organized 2 visits here with my friends, sans family/other adults. I called ahead and(here’s a plus for being Korean!) asked about their rates and they were really receptive and accommodating. I love the location — it’s actually in Maryland and it’s not SO sleazy, unlike some of the other places. Inside, you get your own room and the décor is pretty nice, last time I went, each room is themed after a city, with a few pictures and names on the doors. They have everything — moving lights, colored lights, and tambourines(some that light up!) so I’d call it a solid, genuine Korean noraebang experience. They have a wide variety of songs, from«Sister Golden Hair» to «Low» and Korean/Japanese/Chinese songs and a few other languages. Only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I don’t really have other karaōke places/noraebang to compare it to and I didn’t try the food here either on any occasion. I’ll also add that I went rather early(around 6−8ish each time) to avoid any possible rowdy people who come later since it’s open until about 2−3AM, I think.

This Korean lounge place gets bonus points for being one of the only private room karaōke options in the DC area… and loses some points for having fully dark tinted windows and being in a shady-looking strip mall in Wheaton with a group of equally shady drunken older Asian men that hang out at the front bar… It’s a lot of fun once you get a large group of your friends into a private room, though!!! The rooms are big enough to comfortably hold about 12 people, with a large table in the middle for whatever drinks/food you order. Their food is good, especially the fried chicken. They offer many Korean items on the menu, but the fried chicken is crispy and juicy deliciousness. Some of the songs are the midi-version karaōke instead of the real music recording, and they don’t have all the latest hits(seems to be a few months delay on getting new songs), but my friends and I were still entertained for 5 hours the last time we went. We found fun songs to sing from a really wide variety of music(Beatles, ABBA, Pearl Jam, Madonna, Queen, Backstreet Boys, Metallica, Journey, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, etc.) I am definitely going back soon when I can get another group together!
