Wayyyy better than all of the Peruvian chicken places I’ve been to. The only downside during my visit was I couldn’t order anything fried because they were cleaning out the deep fryer. Which in this case it’s a good thing. Food. Omg was everything on point. Pupusas are also delicious. Affordable. Highly recommended :)

Yo forget the Peruvian chicken– it’s alright(better than crisp and juicy imo but you’re down the street from el pollo rico) but where it’s at is the lomo saltado and that pupusa is pretty legit. The lomo was so affordable and made on the spot right when you order. Seasoned perfectly with plenty of beef for about 11 bucks, plenty of rice and fries — what’s not to love? And if you do order the chicken, they give you all the aji armarillo and spicy green sauce you want, which wins points in my book(slather your papas fritas in it!) it’s not as pungent as EPR’s but it hits the spot. Horachata and tamarindo on tap too– wish it was chicha as well but I’m down with it.

The Peruvian chicken is very good. It has a nice crisp char, but not as flavorful as some of the other guys in town. Need to tweak the spices with more herbs or something. However, it is a great deal. $ 6 for a quarter dark. Also, if you dine in, all the sauce you want. Some Peruvian chicken places charge about 50 cents for extra sauce. These guys have bottles and you can have as much as you want. A big selection of sides: mixed veggies, slaw, yucca, coleslaw, green beans, red potatoes and much more. And the portions? wow. Way to much. Well worth it!

Fantastic Peruvian Chicken! Very flavorful and moist with terrific sauces both spicy and mild. Huge servings with the two sides. Lots of choices with the sides too. I got the fried rice and string beans and the were very flavorful too. All for around $ 6 for white or dark meat. Fantastic deal. If you aren’t too hungry you can get two meals out of it. There are also lots of other menu choices too that I saw other people getting. They also looked great but they cost a little more around $ 10. I’ll go back more for the chicken and to try the other dishes too. Location is also good for Montgomery County people in a shopping center with plenty of parking.

The serving size is big and the food is good. Overall good value, not a place to drive to, but if you are in the area and want something fast it’s a good option.

It’s about time to have a quality Peruvian chicken in Rockville… Chicken was so juicy and hot. And a quarter chicken with big two sides order for $ 5.99. What a deal!!! It’s cheaper than fast food restaurants. I also loved yuca — so fresh and tasty. I would go back to King Pollo anytime.

There’s a new Peruvian chicken place in town and it’s right next to Korean Korner. Sidenote: my childhood memories involved going grocery shopping at the neighborhood korean korner and then having a meal at Seoul Soondae next door; I’m not mad that my adult life will have King Pollo here. Get your fix of your«Peruvian» chicken with plenty of sides(white rice, rice and beans, this Cajun chicken rice, veggies, green beans w/eggs, fries, plantains, yucca fries, and even spaghetti). There’s also pupusas, breakfast, drinks galore, and many other Latin specialties.(I hate saying Peruvian because I doubt they invented the well spiced Peruvian chicken). It almost looks like a retro Roy Rogers. Grab your plastic utensils, your green hot sauce and yellow cream sauce and go to town. Quick, easy, and super affordable. I’ll probably get take out from here though, it was interesting being the only non-native spanish speaker in the establishment, lol. There are 4 other locations(sterling, chantilly, woodbridge, and alexandria) and I’m sure there will be more. Welcome to Maryland, King Pollo!

Chicken is crispy. Compared to El Pollo Rico, the chicken doesn’t dry out much, but also isn’t as rich in flavor as Pollo Rico. However, they’re chicken is 7⁄10 rating and isn’t bad. It’s crunchy. Sides are BETTER than El Pollo Rico. They’re fresh, and not all soggy. Fried are actually crisp and crunchy. Plantains are also crunchy but not as sweet(Pollo Rico uses honey). They also offer many different sides like pasta, mixed veggies, and other things. Variety is great. They offer more than the traditional Chicken and sides. They also offer a salad, subs, and pupusas. Menu is wide and nice. Prices are a bit cheaper than Pollo Rico. Which is a steal. Overall, I’d recommend this place for people to try out versus Pollo Rico. I love Pollo Rico and have had it for years, however their inconsistencies(with quality of food and amount of sides) vary which is really frustrating. Recommended. They have a complimentary widescreen TV for your pleasure and free wifi as well.
