Been coming here for years. The only barbershop I go to when in The DMV area. Ebrahim and Tamara have been their forever. Great barbers and great people!

A great barber shop. I usually have Tamara, who is really detail oriented and easy to worth with. But I’ve had other barbers and everyone is great. Highly recommended!

Without a doubt this is THEBEST place to get my hair cut. I have tried high end hair salons and none of them match the attention to detail I always receive at Raphael’s Barber Shop. Sonny has been cutting my hair since I was about 18 and he has done an amazing job since. Everyone in the Barber shop is very talented and I truly due appreciate the services they all provide. Thank you once again! Below is a photo I had taken for work with my hair cut by Sonny the photos all came out beautifully thanks to his hard work and attention to detail. I highly recommend this place to all my friends.

Great Haircut and quick. Even if the waiting area is full, they move through people quickly and do quality work. If you don’t care what you look like, go down the street, if you want a good haircut, this is the place to go. It’s worth it.

Located on georgia ave. Street meters are avail. I got my haircut by Jalal. Did a fast good job. Didn’t mess up the fade and offered to thin the top and shave the back of the neck. Very quick and professional. $ 20 . Btw I have asian hair if that is a consideration for you.

I have been going to see Tamar for about a decade now. I have gotten consistent, high-quality hair cuts. I’ve come to the point where I ask Tamar what she thinks I should do. My current haircut was her recommendation — and I love it.

This place is as good as it gets for a barber shop. The lines move fast, all the barbers are skilled, and reasonably priced. I get a fade from sunny and I’m good for several weeks. For when there’s a line, they have a free massage chair and TV with sports playing… doesn’t get much better than that!

In my opinion, this is as good as it gets for a barber shop. Consistent, quick haircuts. My hair comes out looking good and professional. It is a better haircut than I have the right to expect for $ 20. I take my 10 year-old son there. They treat him great, and cut his hair just the way he likes it(think, mid-80s Liverpool soccer hooligan… but that is what he wants). Qualifiers: This is not Vidal Sassoon in Tyson’s. It is not a salon. I don’t bring my daughter here for haircuts. I used to pay $ 80 to get my hair cut near Capitol Hill. There they brought me tea while I waited, or cold seltzer with a lime wedge in it. At Raphael’s nobody brings me tea or seltzer. But the haircut is every bit as good as the $ 80 cut.

Despite what seemed like a hectic line, the barbers went through the clientele efficiently and I was really happy with my cut. There was a high degree of attention to detail and it ended up only being $ 20 for a male cut. The lady that cut my hair was named Tamara and she was quite pleasant and sociable. She was this way to me as well as others in the establishment all simultaneously. It’s hard for me to speak more highly of Raphael’s.

I decided to try them out for 3rd time but they are strike out in my books. I wanted try a new barber which I waited over 20 minutes but she took someone else after me! That was very Poor and rude on barber — Anna’s part. Since i waited before her customer! Bad barber and needs customer service improvement here!

I’ll probably be back. $ 20 + tip for a men’s cut. Was a very fast, but good hair cut(10 min, tops — I like fast/efficient hair cuts) but a little bit of a wait(15 min — midday and midweek, no need for an appointment and no one was manning the desk when I was there, the barbers ring you up). There were three barbers and all seemed very fast/efficient. Location is very convenient and price is moderate. Have to include the tip in your credit card transaction(or pay cash).

This place is what I would refer to as a chop shop. A bit better than those chains like supercuts but not much. The staff don’t care what your hair looks like in the end, as long as it’s the same as every other haircut they give. When I sat down the guy said what you want? Then looked away like he didn’t care. I asked him if he could do a fade he said yes yes(he couldn’t). He pumped me out in 10 min and was annoyed when I asked for a bit of a touch up. If you don’t care about your hair this is a fine place for you. They will give you a flattop.

This was worth the drive! Wasn’t sure, initially, if I wanted to get my haircut there but I figured why not. The wait was decent(not 5 minutes but not even half an hour either.) The Russian lady took me at first. I had kind of worried because I doubted she would do a good job at giving me the kind of cut I wanted(skin fade) Turns out I was right, but she let me know from the get go and passed me to another barber. The guy was friendly enough and he did a nice job of cutting my hair. The best part about this place was the message chair. I had an awful pinched nerve on my back from my commute to work in DC, and was real grateful that they had a message chair(bonus!) I plan on coming back. This place is a little pricey($ 20), but there just aren’t many choices for the type of haircut I need in this area. I gave my barber a standard tip and the Russian lady at nominal tip as a gesture of thanks for not experimenting with me. It really is a good place. None of this call for an appointment nonsense like the other place I reviewed.

I will NEVER get a haircut as good as the ones I get here ANYWHERE back home in Los Angeles(allow me this one time to be over the top). Firstly, try out every barber and/or talk to them to see who can work best with you. This is KEY to making sure you get the freshest cut. Each individual barber has their own unique style/strengths — although they all can cut equally well. I personally like to work with Sunny. This guy can go from giving you the freshest line up you will ever get to making you look straight GQ dapper — whatever look you’re trying to get across. They’re not as busy on the weekdays but the weekends can become a wait. Do not fear! Not only are they all skilled here, but they’re EFFICIENT, so don’t expect to be waiting too long. Reasonably priced as well. TL;DR — Easily one of the best(and affordable) places in Silver Spring to get your hair cuts/styled.

Raphael’s is great! I’ve been getting my hair cut here for a year, I’ve had 3 different barbers, each one great. There’s never too long of a wait, just sign in if it’s busy and they’ll get to you quickly. I appreciate the neck shave with a straight razor, and it’s $ 20 for a cut, which is more expensive than a chain, barbershop, but still reasonable for my once every 6 weeks hairstyle.

I got back from shopping and grabbing Starbucks when I decided to get a haircut. I left my coffee at home, and in twenty minutes I was back with a great haircut from Ebrahim and my coffee was still hot. This place is great.

Oh the weather outside is frightful! But the massage chair at Raphael’s is delightful! There’s no place else to go for a great barber cut! I have had all but one of the barbers cut my hair and they are ALLVERY Talented! Great personalities and comfortable atmosphere. They have this awesome $ 2000 massage chair that gives your body a well-deserved rub while you wait or you could pop in for a quickie right after your done… haha! …And its FREE! $ 20 for a cut in downtown Silver Spring. Parking is STREET but even if there aren’t any spots right in front… I’ve always found one right around the corner! I will return!

I was in the neighborhood and badly needed an eyebrow threading so I checked Unilocal and saw the rave reviews for Raphael’s. I had Jalal. It was not the most painful threading I’ve ever had but it was far from painless. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed he had missed many, many hairs in between the brows. He also pinched the skin quite a bit on the outside and caused several scabs, as shown in the photo. I will not return.
