Silva Shoe Repair

Avoid this place! They make keys and do a horrible job. I paid for a key to be made here and it didn’t work, when I went back to the shop to tell them the attendant was rude and told me it was my fault the key didn’t work. Save the couple of dollars and go somewhere else. I will not trust them with anything.

Fast, quality service… simple

I brought in 2 pairs of shoes to be shined, and reheeled. One was a pair of everyday semi-​casual cole haan leather boots which I wear all the time (even in the rain occasionally), and the other pair was a very expensive set of brown dress shoes from Brooks Brothers.
I needed it done within 24 hours and that wasn’t a problem.
I wish I could post a before and after shot — my shoes looked incredible. Next time I go i will post a before and after.
Only reason it isn’t 5 star is because it was a little pricier than I had hoped for, but then again I didn’t mind paying for quality.

Brought in a pair of Frye Melissa Button boots that I needed widened. After getting them stretched at another cobbler, I brought them here to see if a gusset could be put in. Brought the shoes in on Thursday and they were ready by Tuesday. The boots looked awesome. I thought he would just use an elastic gusset, but he added matching leather so it looked so much better than I thought it would. He also stretched the boots incase I needed a little more room. He speaks mostly Spanish but we had no problem communicating. His daughters work in the shop too and are always very sweet. Best part? It only cost me $ 45! He also told me if I needed them stretched more, to come in again at no extra cost. I was super nervous about taking $ 350 boots there but I was super impressed. Would definitely go back again when I need another cobbler.

Avoid this place. I spent $ 48 on getting rubber soles and large heel tips replaced for a single pair of shoes. I would have been much happier about having to pay so much if the results were perfect. Unfortunately, my shoes came back with really conspicuous marks on the sole and metal tacks visible in the heel tips.

Excellent quality work on a pair of boots I needed to re-​heel, re-​sole and polish. Reasonable price of $ 65 total. Helpful customer service, answered all my questions about what I could expect and what the process would be, and quick turnaround time of 3 days. Will definitely come back.

The prices are reasonable. You can tell that he really likes working on shoes. He won’t suggest unnecessary services. He will also tell you the truth if your shoes are a lost cause. I’ve gone to him several times and I have never been disappointed with the quality of his work.

CRAZY! After I paid $ 80 got the leather heels service, my Italian heels were ruined by this man and I was yelled at. I was told I lied about one of my heels being bent when he obviously took on the task bc they weren’t bent from the beginning. I couldn’t stand in one side of my favorite shoes. So sad :(

This is one of those times when I wish 0 stars was possible for a rating.
I had a bag’s strap break off and, since I don’t have any tools to fix leather, went here (because of the good reviews) to see if they would repair it. They said they could, had me pay a ridiculous amount of money for it (which I accepted because of the convenience), and then when I picked it up… it broke again within about twenty minutes of use.
The fix that was needed was literally something I could have done on my own, and I’m not particularly crafty. They also used white thread when everything else on the bag has black thread – I have a hard time believing they don’t have black thread. I had asked for one other thing (for them to reinforce the opposite side of the strap), but they didn’t even pretend to do that. I took it somewhere else, paid about $ 30 less, and had it done right. They had other bags over where they were keeping mine, so I wasn’t somehow the first person to ever ask them to fix bags. They just did a really, really, really awful, half-a’d job.

I was highly disappointed by the lack of work done my another Silver Spring shoe repair business and took the same shoes directly to Silva’s. My shoes look beautiful now. Polished and new heels. The other shoe business had said he couldn’t polish because of shoe design… obviously not so. I will be returning to Silva’s…only bad thing is parking is tough.

I just visited this afternoon to repair torn leather on the toe of my boot. The gentleman was able to fix it while I waited and charged me $ 5. Very reasonable and quick. I appreciate this level of service and highly recommend them.

My dog decided to eat a pair of leather shoes I had only worn once. The toe on one shoe was destroyed and I was about to throw them out but on impulse decided to bring them in. The results were amazing! It was pretty unbelievable how good of a job he did. For $ 35, I was saved from having to go out and buy a brand new pair od shoes. I would definitly recommend!

Great service, although it is rather expensive at $ 15/​pair for re-​heeling. I brought in 3 pairs of pumps with the heel tips missing and the hardware completely worn down; when I picked them up the next day you couldn’t tell that the tips weren’t the originals; all three pairs were also buffed/​blacked/​shined. On their door they also advertise 5 minute heel repair.

Unfortunately, I’ve found myself in a tight, scramblin’ a few times b/​c I’ve screwed up my shoes and I’ve had to make a mad dash here and get the tips of my heels fixed. The guy here always does a pretty good job, but you gotta speak up in order to get what you want… The sign on the wall says that he’ll fix your heels in 5 minutes while you wait, but if you if you don’t specify that you need your shoes NOW, he’ll almost always tell you to come back in a couple of days. He charges $ 15 per pair of shoes, but 9 times outta 10 my heels don’t always need to be repaired in pairs and he acts as if he can’t split that $ 15 in half and just do one shoe… so, there are pros & cons to coming here. Overall, I’ve been pretty pleased w/​the service, but not necessarily his pricing.
