I have no idea how people are saying the portions are small. I’m a chubby 30 year old guy, and there is no way I can finish the California burrito in one sitting. The new building is a lot nicer than the old one. Staff is friendly, great fresh homemade hot sauce…

This must be another post for the Taqueria. As I have mentioned in the other post, this has got to be one of the best Mexican food restaurant in WA. I don’t understand why some people have said that the portions are small… I think they were huge and well worth the price.

Being a transplanted Los Angeleno, it is so extremely difficult to find delicious and authentic Mexican food here in WA. El Huarache Azteca pretty much lived up to my already low expectations. I ordered to-go, the Chile Relleno plate and five tacos: carne asada and carnitas. At $ 9 for the Chile Relleno I really expected at least decent portions but a few spoonfuls of rice and beans along with the smallish Chile was all I got when I opened the styrofoam tray. No joke. And it wasn’t very tasty. The tacos were just ok, the meat on the dry side. I got an Horchata and while THAT was a large portion it was so bland! As if they were running out on the drink and tried to stretch it out by adding water. Bleh! Perhaps it would have been different had I eaten there, but no matter, I don’t intend on returning.

This being the third review for El Huarache, I was able to quickly review what others were saying before writing this. I feel like Sunshine S.‘s review is for a different place! Or maybe there were different owners then? Regardless, I disagree. The portions followed the standard of HUGE. The pre-dinner chips and salsa just kept on coming. The(west coast specific) Colorado Burrito was enough for two tasty meals. The atmosphere was congenial, the service attentive, and the horchata sweet and delicious. Until a week ago, this was the best Mexican option in Kitsap/N. Mason that I’d found. Finally, the family at the table behind us indicated the margaritas were very good indeed.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. I very much enjoyed my meal and was pleasantly surprised to find REAL authentic Mexican food in the Bremerton area. This is not a fancy fine dining restaurant, although I felt the service was more than attentive. We were a party of six and our bill came to under $ 90 and that was with a couple of beers. Ample chips and salsa to begin our meal, we all left seeming very satisfied. And that green avocado sauce that they bring out with the food is so tasty I cannot get it out of my mind. I will definitely be back.

The staff here was ok, the food was defiantly not. The portions were small the food was cold and the place wasn’t that clean. We had never heard of this place before but we received a coupon in the ValPak for buy one meal and two drinks and get the second meal free. We’re always looking for new places to eat, so we thought why not try it once. Our bill still came out to $ 15 and we weren’t even full after the meal because the portions were sooo small. I really wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The service was also weird, they had a self serve soda machine but you had to place your food order with a waiter. It was a bit odd.
