Energy Island Smoothies

Honestly, I’m surprised there aren’t any other reviews on here about the rudeness of the employees. I think there must be high turnover rate in this place because I rarely see the same person working, and they are all grumpy and rude. There is only one girl who is nice there and I wish I knew her name, but I’ve only seen her here twice. The others all need to learn to be a little more pleasant to customers, in my opinion. I’m always friendly to workers everywhere, and I just always leave here wondering what the heck their problem is.

The prices and taste of the drinks here are varying to put it mildly. They seem to allow a wide berth for judgement in proportions so even if you find something you like you will never have it again. I wish it was more formulaic so that I could hone my own taste as apposed to getting whatever it is the felt like making that day.

Tried the Strawberry Lemonade at the Silverdale Whaling Days, it was amazing and refreshing on a hot sunny day! Thanks for the coupon too! Glad to find out this place is in the mall because I’ll surely stop by the next time and get a smoothie! =)

Update: I decided to head over to Energy Island for a treat on my lunch break. I hadn’t been there in a long time as a direct result of the ambiguous pricing varying based on who was behind the counter. I left without finishing my order.
Let me explain, I went to order and the 32oz size wasn’t on the menu. I asked if they still sold the 32oz size (I prefer to enjoy my rather large smoothie with two caffeine add-​ons throughout my shift as a meal/​caffeinated beverage). The woman behind the counter stated she was just trying to figure out the price for the 32oz. Huh? I guess that explains the varying prices I’ve paid previously. This visit, I was quoted a base price of $ 9 and some change BEFORE choosing my drink and BEFORE add-​ons. I always thought their smoothies were overpriced (special treat, but not a sustainable habit). However, at a $ 9+ starting price for the 32oz, I won’t be returning. After my add-​ons, I could buy a steak elsewhere for the same price. Unfortunate and disappointing.

The smoothies are okay. It’s not fresh fruit but rather a real fruit blend that comes in a carton. They have a huge selection and many many add ons. I gave them three stars because they are good but for the price it’s just not worth it, in my opinion. I can go down the street and get a smoothie with actual fruit in it for the same price.
