Inside Out Cafe

Inside out is the gem of Bangor sub base. Its easy to drop your standards when your only competition on base is taco bell, mcdonalds, subway, and an express pizza hut. They don’t though. Theres one gal that has got to have one of the meanest looking faces but shes nice as hell. Most of the staff is young and inexperienced but they push out that food fast and exactly how you want it. Daily specials and local brews on tap. They have the full bar compliment with the pool tables, dart boards, jukebox, and the sports on tv. Don’t be afraid to bring the kids though, they have a family side too, a little play place and more family fun programming on those tvs.
You can also buy submarine memorabilia in the dolphin store located within.
All around I have other mixed emotions about the place because this is where deployments begin, wives dropping off husbands to disappear with little to no contact for months, then families smiling and embracing their husbands months later.

I have eaten here 4 times now. Today service was much slower than normal. I do have to admit they were busier than I have ever seen before. We had ordered at 11:53 and our food arrived at 12:45. I had a 1PM meeting so I rushed through the meal.
We did ask 3 times where our food was. The crowd had cleared and still no food. I finally asked for a manger and then things moved quickly. Although not the Food Manager he made it right. He refunded our money and gave us a coupon for a free next meal visit.
I was happy with his fix of my problem but the issue will probably not change. The food staff got overwhelmed and according to the outside Manager should have asked for help. They were a rudderless ship that ran aground! Due to Military operations they could very easily overwhelmed again.
The great thing about this place is despite having a captive audience (no other good food for miles) they serve pretty good food. I have only had there Burgers and they are delicious. They have quality patties and and good fresh ingredients. The fries are crisp and tasty.
I worry they will continue to let their service slip. Bad service can kill even a on base restaurant. That would be a shame.

Always loved the burgers and garlic fries here at Inside Out, and appreciated the great service Margaret provides in the Khaki Lounge. Make sure you ask what the special is. I sometimes forgot to ask, then ended up disappointed I missed the opportunity to get some of their fish tacos. (Not San Diego /​Rubios quality fish tacos, but good fish tacos nonetheless). My only real complaint is they serve Pepsi products and I’m a Coke addict, but then just about everyplace in Kitsap serves Pepsi.

Inside Out was one of the first places I ate at when I moved up here. Every time I’ve come back, the quality of food has remained consistent. Add that to their great portion sizes (which makes up for the slightly above average price) and bottomless fries for each meal. The only downside is the wait time for meals. Recommend calling ahead to counter it. The restaurant has a few TVs, a play area for small children, and a bar open at nights with pool tables. A good option for on-​base dining.

Probably the best food on base. All of their hambrugers and sandwiches are decent and all entrees have unlimited fries; regular or garlic fries. That’s right; unlimited garlic fries… Imagine going back to the office after having that for lunch.

The food here is way over priced! I can not believe how they take advantage of Sailors with there high prices. Greasy food for sure. The first time I ate a burger here I threw up. I did not go back for two years. You have to understand that we have work functions here so that I what brought me back. Now I just get a grilled cheese or a quesadilla. Not worth the price.

Great place to eat on base. Yummy choices and healthy choices. A small play area for kids! Pool tables in bar area. TVs everywhere and free WiFi! The burger is delicious!
