So, we recently moved up to WA and my mom moved with us. She has vision issues and so we went to the eye doctor to ‘see’ how her vision was doing. We were referred to Pacific Cataract because the eye doctor saw a cataract and thought that she should talk to the doctors about cataract surgery. We saw a first doctor at PC&L and he did a great job of talking to my mom about cataract surgery in general. Plus, addressing her specific concerns because she only has one eye to see through. We were given time to think about the benefits versus risks, and about a weeks later my mom decided that she wanted the surgery. So, we went in the day of the surgery. I was able to stay with her, they gave her some sort of ‘happy juice’ to keep her calm. I was able to watch her surgery and they even did a dvd of the surgery so that my mom could see the whole thing. The people at PC&L are really nice. My mom asked the doctor who did her surgery to please say a little prayer, and he happily did, she loved that. My mom felt like she got really good care, I felt like they were super sweet with her, and I saw my first optical surgery from about 7 ft behind a glass wall, enlarged on a tv screen. I made it through without fainting. I did watch some of it through my fingers, but no one made fun of me. They had us come back the next day for a follow up, my mom is doing great and with her one eye, now is seeing the world a little more clearly and colorfully. Thank you PC&L! Highly recommend.
