Raven Golf Club At Three Peaks

Scenery is fantastic. Course is poorly maintained with water drainage issues on many holes. Golfers without good control of their shots can expect to loose a lot of balls in the long rough. Pace of play can be slow (over 5 hours/​round) during peak times. Course offers many different ways to get discounted rounds which might be worth it for a day of great scenery.

I was really looking forward to playing Ravens from what I’ve heard about it from friends. I’ll start with the positive. Hard not to enjoy the views and I found a new craft beer I like…
Ok, the negatives. Greens? My 90 year old mother could keep them in better shape than these clowns. Fairways? Have they ever heard of water? It’s a liquid that promotes growth and makes grass green.
Cost… Save your money. Usually I like to be kissed when being screwed but they just take your money and smile because they’re laughing at you for paying these fees.

1.5 out of 5. Played Sunday of labor day weekend. The greens are unplayable (fungus, allegedly) and I was not told when I made the tee time, nor before I paid $ 100. For this type of money your expect something much better. The layout on the back 9 is very very funky and nearly everything is target golf with forced carries everywhere. Front 9 is more playable. Bottom line: not worth the money, I’ve never been charged to play on mud greens before.

Play only if deeply discounted. Nice staff stuck at a course that’s being neglected. Pitiful conditions: greens are rough, fairways are cratering, weeds everywhere including in most bunkers. Expensive lesson: should have read the reviews before throwing down all that money. Much nicer mountain courses elsewhere.

It’s 2015 and the spam has started again! It’s been 4 year since I played here 1 day and I can’t get rid of the morons. Do not play this course. They need to go out of business!!!

I really wish that I had read the other reviews before I played this course. When I look for a golf course, there are 4 things that I look for: 1. Course Layout, 2. Course Condition, 3. Service, 4. Pace of Play. The Raven at 3 Peaks is a course that misses it really badly on two of the four. 1. The layout of the course is nice to very good. Not great… but it does have a good layout including several holes that are very interesting. 2. Course condition is HORRIBLE for a course that charges over $ 100. I don’t think that they have worked on the bunkers in weeks if not months. There is grass growing in the bunkers! Most bunkers had one rake and on a couple of the holes the rake was busted. The condition was more of a low end municipal course instead of a resort course. 3. The service was nice and friendly so I have no major complaints about the service. 4. Pace of play was 5 hours. When I checked in I was told that they had three marshalls on the course and they kept the pace at about 4 hrs and 20 minutes to 4 hrs and 30 minutes. I did see a couple of marshalls, but they did NOTHING to keep the pace of play going. The foursome in front of us ended up with at least 2 holes between them and the foursome in front of them… and nothing was done to get them to close the gap.

Not overly impressed with this course. The course and scenery were very good. However I was very disappointed in the service. First of all I booked online through the course website and thought I was getting a decent rate at ~$ 85 each for my wife and I. I booked 3 days in advance of playing. Was very surprised when I logged in the night prior to playing to see if the other two spots in our foursome had been filled and saw that the rate was now $ 65 per player for our tee time. When I mentioned this fact in the pro shop at check in, was met with a non-​chalant «Of course the later you book the cheaper it is» quote from the staff. Thought they may offer to buy us lunch or something with the extra $ 40 they made on us but not to be. Speaking of lunch, we arrived at the course approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes prior to our tee time thinking we would have plenty of time for lunch and warm-​up. We ordered our lunches. I ordered their BLT and my wife ordered a Bratwurst with Sauerkraut. Approximately 25 minutes later, the waitress came over and said that they couldn’t serve a BLT because the had no bacon! Asked what else I wanted and I replied that I would just have a Brat as well and we now had to take them to go since we wanted to warm-​up for golf. About 10 – 15 minutes later they finally brought out the Brats with no napkins, no condiments, etc. To top it off they did not serve it with Sauerkraut since they had run out of that as well!!! The waitress was very apologetic and said the kitchen was slammed. Wondered about this since there were only 4 – 5 other tables with customers in the whole place. Hate to see if they were actually busy! These series of events really made our experience a complete rush at this point. They did offer us a couple of beers to go but by the time we got to drink them after warm-​up they were warm. Also did not see any cart service on the course for the entire time we played. I guess I expected more from a so called «premium» mountain course!!!

Played here Monday of Labor Day weekend. I have been wanting to play here forever, I heard great things about it. The staff is super friendly and the views are fantastic. The elevation changes are great and the course layout is good. The greens were in terrible condition. Pace of play was slow, we had to wait on almost every hole to tee off, and i never saw a marshall. Overall I don’t think it was worth the money we spent to play here.

The course is okay, I guess I was expecting a little bit more, knock your socks off scenery. I would have to say that there more impressive tracks; Grand Lake, Fossil Trace and especially Arrow Head. The greens were a bit disappointing too; they just don’t seem to be in good condition. The GPS system doesn’t have aerial maps/​fly overs, just yardage indicators. They do however, provide books with illustrations of each hole. I was expecting more elevated tee shots, but only a few.
Pace of play was okay, finished our round in approximately 4 hours, there were 2 of us. I loved that the golf carts are electric and super fast; that definitely helps with pace of play. The beverage cart came by frequently, which is always nice. The staff are polite too.
In conclusion, a decent course, but I wouldn’t drive there all of the way from Denver, considering that there are better options for roughly the same price, closer to town.

I played this course in July of 2013.
Pros: Beautiful views and a fun layout. I thoroughly enjoyed riding around and taking in the views. Got an online price of $ 70 which was appropriate for the condition of the course.
Cons: Greens were in rough shape. I hit many quality shots into these greens and the balls just bounced right off the back. They were hard and baked. While I enjoyed playing here my cart and the GPS unit in the cart had obviously seen better days. I was glad I paid $ 70. If I had paid some of the other prices I saw them getting ($ 120 – 140) for t times I would have been livid given the old equipment and the condition of the greens. One other thing — on about the 12^th hole I got to the green and pin positions were no longer where I was told they would be. They had someone going around changing pin positions in the afternoon while folks were still playing golf. This struck me as very «low rent».
If you can get a price around $ 70 I think you will enjoy what you get. If you have to spend over $ 100 do yourself a favor and go play Breckenridge which I believe is a much better maintained course and also has fantastic views and a great layout.

My son and I played here July 1, 2013. I have always loved this course, but this time around the greens were very average. Staff was great, but I would recommend Red Sky or the River Course at Keystone.

My friend and I played the course on 9÷7÷12 and found the layout and conditions good. Some of the bunkers needed more sand (no excuse for that) but the greens were in good condition. Pace of play was slow with no apparent marshals on site.

We were told the course was in good shape. Unfortunately that was not the case. The greens were bumpy and slow for a mountain course and there was grass growing out of the sand bunkers. The range had old worn out balls and they were out at several stations. Then there was the slow play. On several holes on the front we were waiting four groups deep. You were waiting 5 minutes between shots. The back nine was no better so on the 13^th hole we decided to quit. The cart barely made it back to the clubhouse. Avoid this course! There are better values around

A group of us (all single digit and low– teen handicaps) played here in early August. My feelings are very mixed.
The good: the layout is great. This is a great mountain golf course with elevation changes of up to 200 feet between tee and green and fairways winding through canyons and valleys. Being a «flatlander» this was a lot of fun and a nice challenge. The staff was only OK, though the starter was very friendly.
The bad: the greens were very disappointing. We were told a story that the greens were OK but had a few problems due to a late freeze this winter. They were worse than OK and the only bad greens among the 5 courses we played that week.
Had the greens been better I would give this 5 stars for the experience and layout. If they had a weather problem I find it odd that noone else had that problem and felt they could have been a bit more truthful about the issue.

This is a great golf course and a must play for any golfer that even goes near Silverthorne. I am a scratch golfer and my wife just started, but the course offers tee placements that make it fun for any level golfer. The course itself is completely immaculate and the views will take your breath away. This course is the epitome of mountain golf and a sure good time for anyone who loves to golf.
