Once again pleasantly surprised by a restaurant in Simi. The lasagne was excellent. The house cab was very good and the young man who was the single server did a fantastic job, was very attentive and I was never i need of anything.

Food and location is perfect! I’ve had the caprese salad, short ribs and scampi the first time. I have been back with my husband a few times and though the service may be a bit slow at times, they over compensate with great food. The crème brûlée was fantastic! A def little gem in Simi Valley.

Second meal at Betos-Waiter Juan fantastic-funny-informative-great customer service-as well as all the other employees-food was fantastic as usual-my dining partner had the special-a steak cooked to perfection-waiter Juan suggested risotto as a alternative to the potatoes that came with it-mushroom risotto was AMAZING! Juan also offered to split my wedge salad between the two us us-it was more than enough for two people and the presentation was SPECTACULAR!!! If you haven’t visited this gem of a restaurant-HURRY!!!

I have eaten here 3 times in the last month after trying it for the first time. I love it. I particularly love the price on the menu for what you get(amount and quality) and how close it is to my house. The service is good too for walk-ins and reservations. What we’ve had: Risotto Pork Chops(OMG) Steak Shrimp Pasta(a lot of food and classic flavor) Frito Misto(so good) Clams(def. Shareable, yum) Spaghetti Lasagna(a good meat lasagna) Chicken Picatta Fet Alfredo Crème brulé Everything is good. Least fav. thing on the menu is the dessert, which is fine by me because the food is so good I honestly have a hard time keeping room for dessert. Seriously though, some things are just drool worthy and just writing this review makes me want to go there. It’s small so you don’t want a huge party but it will accommodate you well.

4.5 I have been wanting to try this place for so long. We were finally able to get a date night out and this was where we chose. If it hadn’t been for Unilocal,I never would have known it existed. It’s location is in a strip mall that you could drive by and miss this place… and I have. Cute interior with very friendly owner. The lady refilling waters could have been much friendlier. While looking through the menu they dropped off some delicious bread with dipping oil — I love that! We ordered a Caesar salad to split, lasagna and shrimp and scallop linguini. The Caesar is huge and definitely can feed 2 I’m glad we split. The lasagna was very good and pretty large portion — I ended up eating most of it the next day for lunch. Shrimp and scallop linguini good and pretty good portion — my husband cleaned his plate, always a good sign! Overall, very good food with good and we will be back.

Soooo yummy. We started looking at what we wanted to order next time before we finished our dinner, and we don’t live in Simi!

Not one bad thing about this place. In fact, not even a mediocre thing. From the service to the wine to the entrée to the dessert this place is top notch. This place gets an A plus from me and my friends. Delicious meal and fantastic service. I’ll be back, without a doubt.

Magnificent every time. Some highly rated ‘Italian’ restaurants serve up pasta dishes that are so rich it is difficult to enjoy a plate all the way to the end. This place serves nicely cooked pasta with delicately flavored sauces that always leave you wanting more. Their specials are beautifully composed dishes of perfectly cooked food –a bit pricier though. The thing I like about this place is that we can come here when we don’t have a lot of money to spend on dinner and no energy to cook, and we also come here to splurge and make an occasion of it — we spend to suit our budget — but irrespective of cost we leave with happy tummies — and feeling like we’ve had a five star meal! Based on food alone — my favorite Italian restaurant. Ambience and space could be better but for a strip mall restaurant I can’t imagine doing any better than this.

4.5 stars? I went there once. Small portions and sauce like chef boi-ardi. The dessert was good tho.

Undoubtedly, great Italian food! Thanks fellow Unilocalers! Came here to celebrate my mother’s 50th birthday. Host was very welcoming, our server not so much. When you have a party of 10, and two of those patrons want to order the same dish, how rude is it for the server to question what they want and laugh under his breath. That was strike one. When you ask to clear plates out of the way, please do not shove guest sending them to invade another guest’s space. That was strike two, therefore deducting one star. On a good note, our party enjoyed everything that was ordered. I had the sea bass on top of seafood risotto and that was superb!

Beto’s really is an out-of-the-way, very special place in Simi Valley. I have eaten there several times and each time was delightful. Whether with my family, a colleague, or just my wife and I, the food and wine have always been superb. There are, IMO, three essential elements to a really good restaurant: the Food; the Service; and the Ambience. Most better establishments do well in two of the three, and can get away with being somewhat mediocre with the third, no matter which of them it is. Beto’s excels in all three. There is, perhaps, a fourth element many are concerned with, and that is value. Beto’s is not inexpensive, especially if you want a bottle or two of wine with your meal. However, I believe the food and the experience are well worth it. Why not treat yourself?

This was the first time coming to this Italian restaurant and I have to say it was really good. My wife had the rigatoni pasta with a velvety marinara cream sauce with artichoke hearts and I had the double cut pork chop with a port wine reduction and it was really delicious I have to say. The pork was cooked perfectly and so were the vegetables and mashed potatoes. The calamari appetizer was cooked to perfection and was not greasy at all, also came with two types of dipping sauce which was marinara and a delicious pesto sauce. Everything in this restaurant is made to order which means fresh ingredients which is a always a good thing. If you’re ever in the area and you’re in the mood for some good Italian food I highly recommend you stop by this restaurant and you will not be disappointed whatsoever.

I came here after reading reviews about this place and had to find out for myself. I came here on a Friday night with my other half and we made reservations, which I recommend during the weekend. I thought this place was going to be fancy, but it’s casual, so no need to get all dressed up. We ordered the Linguini & clams and Seafood Cippino. The linguini & clams contained olive oil, garlic, tomatoes and herbs, which was delicious. The sauce was on point and they were generous with the amount of clams in their dish. The seafood cippino had fresh assorted seafood in a garlic, basil, and tomato broth and we added noodles. The dish was really delicious, too, but I wouldn’t recommend noodles. The dish is filling. My only complaint about this place is the service. Our server wasn’t that attentive. He didn’t come by to check up on us, so we had to flag him every time we needed something. Thankfully, the food made up for his lack of service. *There’s ample parking since it’s in a plaza. *Also, you could bring your own bottle of wine/champagne without a corkage fee.

Well, color me incredibly surprised … and very pleased. The positive reviews for a Simi Valley restaurant were actually spot-on accurate. It happens… but not very often. So, yaaaay, that we found a delightful Italian restaurant in Simi Valley. While it’s not my favorite Italian restaurant(and come to think of it, I don’t really have one), it will certainly be my nearby go-to Italian restaurant. Hubby and I started with a glass of Pinot Noir. They brought a basket of good bread to be dipped in olive oil(and balsamic vinegar). We then ordered a Caesar salad(him) and a Special menu salad(me), which mine consisted of lettuce, tomato, Portobello mushroom, roasted red peppers and a slab of fresh mozzarella cheese. It came with a balsamic vinaigrette… quite good. The Caesar salad didn’t look anything phenomenal, so I didn’t bother tasting it. I liked my salad and even its presentation. Both of us ordered seafood cioppino, which came in a huge bowl filled with a delicious tomato-garlic-wine broth. Lots of scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels, salmon, calamari, and two huge parmesan breadsticks. We had a great time with it… very tasty and garlicky… right up my alley. It bordered on being a bit too salty, which I recalled another Unilocaler mentioned, but it somehow worked out, and I ate the entire amount. I’m not such a pasta person, but this dish? I love eating a good cioppino. I maybe like the cioppino at OlivA better, but this is pretty darn good at Betos. We didn’t order any dessert… simply too full… but we definitely admired the types of dishes they offered. Next time I go back, I’ll maybe get something different, but who knows… I love a good cioppino. We’ll see… but at least I know this place is good enough that I will definitely go back !!

After dining at this restaurant for the first time, I have a mixed feeling regarding my dining experience. We went here on a Friday night around 8(having no reservations made in advance). The restaurant looked busy and a nice hostess let us know that the wait is about 15 mins which was not bad at all. After about 20 mins we were sat on a table. Soon after a bread basket along with balsamic and olive oil jars. The bread was to die for. It was perfectly cooked and had caramelized onions on it that I thought was delicious… As for the appetizer we ordered the caesar salad which I thought was perfectly dressed and seasoned… As for the entrees, we ordered the ciopinno and the seabass special… I personally thought that the ciopinno was very very salty… So the management need to let the chef know that to take it easy on the salt! The seabass was not perfectly cooked and they forgot to put mashed potatoes with it… So we let our waiter know(who by the way seem like the owner or the manager of the place) and he brought us a plate of mashed potatoes and soon after just to be nice I guess he brought us a plate of truffle mashed potatoe(which I didn’t really care about). At the end we ordered the pineapple bread pudding which was tasty w/o being too sweet. During our dining there, the manager or the owner, kept coming to our table and making sure that we are liking our food and everything since he had found out that we found it there on Unilocal.I like when poeple are nice and everything but sometimes, niceness comes out being fake which I can’t tolerate which exactly was how I felt last night… I need to point something aout about the layout of the restuarant which is to my surprise, the ladies restroom opens up to the waiter area where waiters are drying, cleaning and setting up the plates and silverware for the main dining area… There must be a better area to do this rather than doing it right in front of the bathroom people… This setup was soooo close to the bathroom that when I was opening the bathroom door, I almost hit the waiter who was working there… Will we going back there, probably not… But I needed to right this review because it is my Unilocaling duty.:-)

I discovered Betos via a Unilocal recommendation so Saturday night the wife and I snagged a babysitter and ventured over for a taste of Italy. Other reviews had expressed surprise at the location but I didn’t think the small strip mall was that bad. Sure, a place like Beto’s might be better served in a fancy building all to itself but I’ve found more gems in strip malls than fancy buildings. Upon arrival we were politely greeted, reservations confirmed and taken to our table. Betos is a quaint restaurant but not TOO small/quaint like its cousin Olivios on LA Ave. I much prefer the Betos facilities. Clean, nicely decorated, and big enough so you don’t feel cramped. The atmosphere is nicely casual. Not too fancy, but not Olive Garden either. I felt comfortable with a collared shirt, nice shorts and flip flops. The service level was very friendly, efficient and polite the entire evening. 5 stars without a doubt. Our waiter was super attentive and went the extra mile to take care of us. When he discovered it was our first visit he even gave us a complementary desert. What a thoughtful touch! Definitely some of the best service I’ve ever had in Simi Valley. We had the calamari for the appetizer. I’m a huge calamari fan. I prefer it a bit crispy and not too chewy. Unfortunately Beto’s calamari is pretty soft and chewy. However, the taste was great. I’d give it 3 – 4 stars. I ordered the lasagna for dinner. It was very good. Not GREAT, but very good. The portion was huge. Good value. 4 stars. My wife had the chicken parm. It was also a good size serving but not as generous as the lasagna. Tasty, but nothing award winning. 4 stars. The desert was a scoop of icecream over a molten chocolate brownie(photo atttached). Super good. 5 stars. Overall, Betos is most definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. We enjoyed our visit. I’d say the food is 4 stars overall. Not really something you’d rave about to your friends, but something worth returning for. The service, however, was a solid 5 stars. The quality and special attention took my overall review from 4 stars to 5. Great place!
