Normally we wouldn’t complain but today(1÷30÷16) the hubby ordered a French dip and the meat was sour. My husband didn’t eat it and informed our server. He told her to leave it on the bill and they did. You would’ve thought that knowing a customer said the meat was sour you would’ve deducted it from the bill no matter what. That’s just good customer service. I think the server did that because she wasn’t happy that we met our friends there and sat at the both with them after they had already ordered and started eating. Poor hubby has been so sick since eating the little that he did. Not sure when we will feel comfortable eating there again. So disappointing.

Finally got around to trying this place! I’m a bit of a Huevos Rancheros addict, so thought I would try theirs. It was okay. I was disappointed. I like mine served with rice and beans, theirs only comes with beans. The tomato sauce was weird tasting, had huge chunks of celery. No accompaniment of sour cream, avocado. Boring! My girls had the Jr. Breakfast and seemed to enjoy theirs. Their only complaint is they don’t have a turkey bacon/sausage choice, but were happy with their fruit substitute. The service was great! Our server refilled coffee and water several times. The plates are generous and the prices are good too. Will definitely come again.

Good grub and good portions. I had the meatloaf dinner with corn, mashed potatoes, & albondigas soup. All of it was tasty and I couldn’t finish it all(today!). Will definitely be back!

*Review Based on Dine-In Family Breakfast: three dozer plate, fire chief omelet, french toast, and the cinnamon roll french toast, and lots of coffee =) **Overall Score: 4.5 Pros: the ambiance was cool with all the fire-fighter gear, all the food was yummy, great portion sizes, very good service — attentive, prompt, and friendly, the hostess was super gracious when we asked to split the bill. We would all go back! Cons: they did not have any flavored creamer, the parking is very limited, the location of the restrooms is awkward, during peak hours the dining hall felt slightly congested especially since there were no seating areas to wait.

I decided to try this place out for lunch. When we walked in we were given a table immediately. I had a Cobb salad. It was okay. Not bad but not the best I’ve ever had either. The restaurant wasn’t as clean as I had hoped for but it is decorated cute.

Seems like customer service has gone out the window here. Our coffee was not refilled once! We have been here when it’s been much more crowded. Zero friendliness by the hostess and waitress! Food was okay nothing special. I can get my pancakes at the other dinners in town thank you.

Came for breakfast this morning with my Dad, for the first time. I had the California fireman omelette, minus the bell pepper. This thing was huge and smothered in cheese! A bit bland but decent. The has browns were really good and crispy the way I like it. Dad had poached eggs, sausage and hash browns, he said it was pretty good. Service is very good, deserves 4 stars! They refill your coffee very often. Waitress was nice, and checked in often. The parking lot is tiny, and it gets very busy, so come early. I could of done without the screaming babies so early in the morning, but its not the restaurants fault. LOL

Disgusting disappointing and all around awful! My husband ordered huevos rancheros and I ordered an omelette, both were greasy and packed full of mostly cheese. The beans on my husband’s plate were canned and tasted awful and everything down to the water tasted horrible! The service was neglectful and the cashier was rude! I will never step foot in this place again! I do highly recommend the egg house or eggs and things in simi instead.

Been coming here for years, consistently good. The only issue that I have are the hours — 4 days during the workweek they close at 2:30, but that’s the only gripe and it’s a small one. Great Food, Great Service — Recommended

Firehouse is a pretty standard diner, but it is delicious. We usually come for their breakfast, which has never disappointed us. It can get really busy, so it’s best to come in with some patience to be seated. The service has always been good. They take our orders quickly, get our food to us quickly, and check on us enough to never let the coffee go cold. Parking can be crazy too. People have blocked us in or parked in unmarked places, making it difficult to get in or out. We prefer just parking on the street to avoid the whole issue.

This restaurant is a good place to go to for breakfast, but bring your appetite because their portions are really big. I don’t come here that often but when I do I get the protein packed breakfast which comes with 4 eggs and steak and it is good. The only thing that is really weird is tat when you get your check, you can’t read it and it is not even itemized so how are you suppose to know how much each thing cost.

A Restaurant Impossible«before.» I could practically hear Robert Irvine ordering the ancient, dirty, black industrial carpet taken up and hauled out, a sledge hammer taken to the black plastic booths, and the dusty firehouse kitsch removed from the walls. Nothing is the least bit attractive and there is no indication that anyone has done anything any time recently to make a customer’s experience at all more pleasant. The food was nothing special, mediocre at best. I had a Spanish omelet that looked more like a scramble, and the Spanish sauce on the side was an ugly color that was very unappetizing. The home fries were… home fries. BF’s veggie omelet looked a bit more appetizing and tasted ok. Basic breakfast fare in a dirty old setting, there is no reason to go back, or even go the first time. I’m glad a local place is doing well, but the local loyalty should be returned by investing in the experience or lowering the prices.

What the heck happened to this place?! The past few times I’ve been here has been pretty bad but today took the cake 4−26−15. There is a wait but it moves quickly — no problem and that’s to be expected on the weekend, and again, it moves quickly. So, they call our name and we walk up. The lady at host stand(brown curly hair in pony tail) does this: Go, GO! And nods around the corner. Seriously? You are gonna try and herd me like I’m cattle!!! Yells Go GO at me.seriously. What the hell. Ok. I give her a probably not so nice look and herd myself around the corner to an empty table. I assume this is for us. You know, because we weren’t walked over to the table asked how we were doing and set down some menus, oh no, we were told to Go, GO! and walk our cattle asses to an empty table. A waitress comes up — while I’m still strapping my baby into the highchair mind you– and asks if we are ready to order. Lady my butt isn’t even on the seat yet, we haven’t looked at a menu and you think we are ready!!! Our food eventually comes 30 min later and it’s awful. The biscuit was not throughly cooked and gravy tastes old nasty and flavorless. Everything at table was pretty bad. Then the waitresses keep walking by trying to get everyone’s plates up — while we are still eating! No kidding my fork is halfway to my mouth and she wants to take our plates! This is common I see them trying to herd away every table in there. The table next to us looked like they were about one minute from punching the next person to come by and try to clear their plates. They want you in and out and make that perfectly clear in the rudest manner. It’s s shame really what happened to this place– I used to enjoy coming here. We felt uncomfortable and it was the worst experience ever. We will never be back. So, GO, GO lady!

1 and a half stars. The food is mediocre at best and not worth what ya pay for. Getting worse by the week. Stiff prices, bland tasting, no inspiration beyond clever names on the menu. Ignoring, indifferent service. If you mention your food is amiss, they simply stare at you. Soggy uncooked hash browns. We live close by and occasionally press the hit-me-again button and eat here to remind ourselves what bad really is. The french toast options were OK but have changed, everything else just Smart and Final institution /jail thaw and serve fare. Shame, could be epic. A real stinker. Owner and employees know it and simply do not care.

Decided to give it a try and it was pretty good. It seems like eveytime I drive by, this place is crowded so I assumed it was tasty. The food is good, the wait staff was attentive and helpful as first timers. I had the trucker breakfast special and I did like everything, so I guess that means I have a new place for breakfast when I am in the mood.

A Simi Valley native, I grew up literally across the street from Firehouse Café. They used to have a little fire truck car or something like that parked around town and if you spotted it you got a % off your bill. Think they’ve stopped doing that for years now. Anyway, I’ve been here countless times and more recently in the past 4yrs. It became a mini tradition on Saturday mornings for me to walk over get coffee at the bar while placing an order to-go for myself and my mom. Then mom and I would sit in her CA King sized bed and eat and gossip for hours. Love the Farmers Brothers coffee they brew. Anyway, came in today and did my usual take out having not been in CA for well over a year now. Still same great service and local food. It’s small and nothing fancy but always consistent. The food is simple, homey, and nothing stands out for me except their curly fries, as no one even makes curly fries anymore, and big sandwiches. They’re a great staple in the community and it’s a small local biz I’m proud to support.

Hubby and I had lunch here. It was fine, not great. I had the California Turkey sandwich and it was just greasy and flavorless. The curly fries were very good. Hubby had a burger and steak fries and he did not care for either. Service was good. I think we should try it for breakfast, might be better.

Love this place. The Firehouse is our go to breakfast spot. Everyone is friendly and the menu is full of comfort food. If you show up at PRIME breakfast time, be prepared for a wait, rain or shine, they are always busy !

Very friendly place and we enjoyed our dinner. Hubs gobbled up a giant & flavorful meatloaf sandwich with yummy(not greasy) curly fries. I got the prime rib(avail. Fri) which came with wayyy too much food, but who can really complain about that? The prime rib was good and flavorful, came with mashed potatoes that were a bit rich for my liking(it comes with gravy but it doesnt tell you that, just beware if it’s not your thing). I super enjoyed the fresh cheese bread and the clam chowder that came beforehand(I told you A LOT of food!). I look forward to coming back for breakfast(served all day) and will def pick up some clam chowder, that was delish!
