Hook Burger

The food is good, but I’m disappointed with the fact that they don’t supply men with a changing table for their babies. We’ve been here before and I’ve changed our baby in the ladies room with no issues. Tonight my husband took the baby to change her and came back to give her to me because there isn’t a changing table in the men’s room. This is so ridiculously disappointing for a newer family friendly restaurant. There’s no excuse for this. Men deserve a clean and safe place to change their babies too. Shame on you hook burger.

To start off, I am a fan of Habit and keep looking to see if there is a better burger out there. Hasn’t happened yet. This place is OK. Biggest problem was the bun kept falling apart making eating the burger a challenge. Onion rings were excellent and ranked up with Habit on that aspect.

Hook Burger is awesome! However, this location needs a little work.
Staff was a little rude. Burgers were VERY sloppy. When I requested to speak to the Manager, suddenly the staff found their manners! Go figure. The Manager was very nice and offered to fix everything. From the sloppy burger and Chicken sandwich to the cold and soggy fries.
As we were in a huge rush, I declined and explained that I just wanted him to be aware of what happened to me as a customer and that I hope in the future, I can have a better experience.
I can’t go as low as two stars for this review because the manager was very concerned and I believe he will fix the issues.
So, for now, the Simi Valley location of Hook Burger gets 3 stars. If on my next visit the problems I experienced have been fixed and the burger looks like it was assembled by someone other than a frisbee team, I will revise my review.

I have one complaint and that is there is no nutrition information available at the facility When you ask they tell you it’s on line and lots of luck with that. On line they tell you to hook up with some weight loss company My Fitness Pal — enough already.
Every restaurant needs a copy of their calorie count on site and if they don’t make it easy I’m not going there again snd I know many who feel the same. Those of us who enjoy the food but need to watch their choices deserve nothing less.

This was the first time my fiancé and I. It was nothing short of a perfect experience! In my opinion its much better than The Habit. In fact, the burger I got, the Californian with bacon, could easily be served at a fancy sit down restaurant! The entire experience was great! From the counter lady (who took our order), she was so nice, patient and helpful. All the staff was so friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar (counter top) and watched them work while watching the game. Their quality control is exceptional and we will surely be returning here very soon. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. Now we know why its called «Hook» Burger. Enjoy, CR.

The burgers were precooked and the frys institutional from frozen and the shakes from a pre-​mix.
Everything on the menu plain tasting.
Building still looks under construction, even though it isn’t, it still looks that way and it’s killing their business.

Sometimes if you sacrifice quality for taste it ruins the dish and that’s how they did this…

I was excited to see a new joint make its way into Simi. Even tho it is a bit of a chain, I was happy to see something fresh.
However after my experience, I cant help but feel like it was not attention grabbing enough to go back.
The burger was simply lackluster. I wanted it medium rare and it was cooked well beyond that (pardon the pun). The bacon felt quite old like it was cooked hours ago. The fries were not very bountiful, and overall I wish I didn’t order them and saved the few bucks.
The facility is awesome and the staff seems nice. It has a great location right off the freeway and on a main street in the middle of simi, and it’s even close to my house. But when you’re a burger place I just want you to deliver a killer burger. Hook was just an okay burger.

I’ve been here a couple times to try their different burgers. I’ve had their Prime Burger, California Burger and seared Tuna burger. I have to say their all their burgers are equally good, but my favorite is probably the California burger, which contains red pepper and onion, melted jack, avocado, arugula, tomato and honey Dijon mayo. I substitute the buns for pretzel bun.
I’ve also had their handmade shakes. I’ve tried the Caramel latte shake and Oreo Cookie shake. They’re both really sweet and the shake has a thick consistency. I would probably choose the Caramel latte shake over the Oreo Cookie shake.
This place serves wine and beer and there are TV’s at the bar area to watch sports.
There’s plenty of parking in the parking lot. I’m glad this burger joint opened in my neighborhood.

This place is really nice. I think it’s way better than a «stacked». It’s Non GMO, all natural good stuff! I got the turkey burger and sweet tater fries. My friend got the hickory burger, onion rings, fries, and an Oreo shake.
I really liked my burger. So tasty. Their sweet tater fries come with brown sugar sprinkled on top so you know I was happy! Their onion rings and fries are great too. Their shake was like crack it was delicious. I would have gotten one but I was really trying to be good. What I loved was the service. It was clean everyone was helpful and major brownie points! I got ranch without asking for it with my fries. HEYYYYY!!! Will be back!

I gave 3 stars because everybody but the managers are actually doing their job. The two managers who worked tonight were on their phones the whole time, either texting or talking, even as they were helping get orders to customers. And I am talking about Omar in specific, wow dude, do our job and actually be a professional. Even as I sat here for less than hour, two people already came up and complained. The managers are a joke and need to be retrained. Tarah and Jonie were excellent, with such a friendly smile, actually doing there job. What a joke to the rest of the staff and an embarrassment to the company.
Besides that if you are looking for decent burgers here’s the place.

Consistent with their food in taste and most of all Quality. This location very well maintained and most of all very clean.
Its great to provide a employee to help maintain to keep clean the dinning room clean during your busy times.
Great job.

Really love the burgers at Hook!
Not many places that I eat beef, but the meat here is so juicy and grilled perfectly, I can’t pass up on it here!
Great salads as well and I love their onion rings.
Veggie burger is not made in house which is a bit of a shame, pass on that next time.
Prices are a bit high, but the quality and presentation is great, so i feel it is worth it.
Service was nice and the food comes out quickly, worth a stop while in the area!

Wish I could give a 2.5. Nothing negative to say, really, other than small portions (but maybe the people I was sharing my sides with were just really hungry?)
Prime burger + fries was fine but I don’t know if the ~ambiance~ and ingredients are really worth the price difference vs. the Habit. I wanted to be blown away by differences in freshness or service or. something; but it was just okay.

New burger joint in west/​central Simi!
We ventured over after hearing people talk about ‘da Hook. This location is near Denny’s on Sycamore. It has a decent amount of parking. The facility is very modern, bright and clean. It has a patio for outside seating and plenty of inside chairs and booths. After ordering at the cash register you are given a buzzer that goes off and you go pick up your food. (No a waitress service.)
I ordered the Prime Burger and it was fantastic. 4 – 5 stars. My wife had the BBQ Burger but she wasn’t that crazy about it. 2 stars for that one. My son’s chicken tenders were very high quality and a good portion.
As far as prices go, it was around $ 11 – 12 per adult if you wanted fries and a drink. Not terrible, but definitely more expensive than The Habit which is a very comparable chain. Frankly, if I was to choose between them, I’d pick The Habit. Both have great food but Habit is a better bang for your buck.
Overall, a very nice place to grab a burger. Between the mediocre BBQ Burger and the slightly high price I was debating between 3 or 4 stars but went with 4 as this facility is a nice fresh addition to the area.

Oh, each location has an American flag (huge) on the wall. Each have their own story. The one in this store is from The Spanish American War era. 1896.

For a fast-​food style restaurant, the food was really good! I tried the Teriyaki burger and was not disappointed. The prices are reasonable, everything tastes good, and there are a lot of different options from salads to wraps to burgers. The burgers were cooked medium-​well but were very flavorful. The staff is really friendly and helpful to keeping a pretty clean environment.
As a fairly new burger joint, Hook Burger in Simi Valley was very busy!

Really? Another burger joint? Well, the reviews were pretty good, and then somebody I trust went there and said it was quite good, so off we went in search of a newer better burger.
Blam, enter Hook Burger, a place I can honestly say serves a truly great burger. I opted for the Hickory Burger and must say it was borderline incredible, cooked just right, the onions and BBQ sauce were a real treat, and so was everything else. We ordered a Trio which is French Fries, Sweet Tater Fries, and Onion Rings; honestly, these were the first sweet potato fries that I ever liked. My wife got the California Burger and loved it. All in all, we were instant fans and will be back again soon.
They have a self serve drink bar which is very handy, the place was very busy but still very neat. The clean up folks were most diligent, keeping things tidy, and that’s a good thing these days! Next time you are over here, drop in and have at it; I think you’ll like it.

Today was a soft opening and the food was not bad but could have used a tad more seasoning on the meat patties. The California Burger was good but a little small for my liking and the onion rings were really the highlight of the meal. The money went to the Make A Wish Foundation for today’s soft opening. This restaurant is very packed today though and the atmosphere was actually really good. I would come back here for a burger and family time.
